비수용매에서 이핵성 네자리 Schiff Base Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) 및 Copper(II) 착물들의 전기화학적 성질 (제 5 보) (Electrochemical Properties of Binuclear Tetradentate Schiff Base Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) and Copper(II) Complexes in Nonaqueous Solvents. (V))

  • 이핵성 네자리 Schiff base 의 cobalt(II), nickel(II) 및 copper(II) 착물인 [Co(II)_2(TSBP)(L)_4], [Ni(II)_2(TSBP)(L)_4] 및 [Cu(II)_2(TSBP)] (TSBP: 3,3',4,4'-tetra(salicylideneimino)-1,1'-biphenyl, L: Py, DMSO 및 DMF)들을 합성하여 원소분석, IR-spectrum, UV-visible spectrum, T.G.A. 및 D.S.C.를 측정하여 이핵성 착물로 주어짐을 확인하였다. 지지전해질로서 0.1M TEAP-L (L; Py, DMSO 및 DMF)에서 1mM-착물용액의 순환전압-전류법과 D.P.P.법으로 전기화학적 성질을 측정한 결과 이핵성 cobalt(II) 착물은 일전자의 확산 지배적인 네단계의 산화-환원과정이 Co(III)_2 {^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(III)Co(II)_2{^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(II){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(I){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(I)_2 으로 일어나고 이핵성 nickel(II) 및 copper(II) 착물들은 일전자의 확산지배적인 두 단계의 산화-환원과정이 M(II)_2 {^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}M(I)M(I){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}M(I)_2 (M; Ni 및 Cu)으로 일어남을 알았다.

  • The electrochemical reaction behavior of nickel electrode of the nickel-cadium battery system in potassium hydroxide solution has been studied by cyclic voltammetry, controlled potential electrolysis and X-ray diffraction method. It has been found that the reaction mechanism of positive nickel electrode for charging was assumed to be proten transfer step with a rate controlling diffusion process and char-ging state of positive electrode was amorphous $\beta$-NiOOH.

Polymerizations of Propylene with Unsymmetrical ($\alpha$-Diimine)nickel(II) Catalysts

  • New unsymmetrical ($\alpha$-Diimine)nickel(II) catalysts having different pendent groups at the ortho positions on aromatic rings were synthesized and subjected to propylene polymerizations with MAO (methylaluminoxane). Structural analyses of the resulting polypropylenes by $^1H\;and\;^{13}C\;NMR$ showed that the ortho substituents on aromatic rings of ($\alpha$-diimine)nickel(II) catalyst affected significantly the polypropylene microstructure. While $C_s$ symmetric catalyst afforded a syndiotactic polypropylene (rr triad content=66%) due to the syndiospecific chain end control, $C_1$ symmetric catalysts produced much less stereoregular polypropylenes (rr triads content <50%), presumably because of collision of the isospecific site control with the syndiospecific chain end control.

  • The template synthesis of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes derived from 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol with diethylenetriamine or 1,2-bis(3-aminopropylamino)ethane produce the 12-membered $N_3O$ and 17-membered $N_4O$ macrocyclic complexes, respectively. The geometry of the complexes has been determined with the help of electronic and EPR spectroscopic values and found to be five coordinated square pyramidal and, six coordinated distorted tetragonal for 12-membered and 17-membered macrocyclic complexes, respectively. Electrochemical studies of the mononuclear $N_3O$ and $N_4O$ copper(II) complexes show one irreversible oneelectron reduction wave at $E_{pc}=-1.35$ and -1.15 V respectively, and the corresponding nickel(II) complexes show irreversible one-electron reduction wave at $E_{pc}=-1.25$ and -1.22 V, respectively. The nickel(II) complexes show irreversible one-electron oxidation wave at $E_{pa}=+0.84$ and +0.82 V, respectively. All the complexes were evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial activity against the human pathogenic bacteria and fungi.

  • This work shows that both L2 and L3 bearing two and four N-$(CH_2)_2OCH_3$ groups, respectively, can be prepared selectively by the reaction of $L^1$ with 1-bromo-2-methoxyethane. The di-N-substituted macrocycle $L^2$ readily forms its copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes. The N-$(CH_2)_2OCH_3$ groups in $[CuL^2]^{2+}$ are coordinated to the metal ion, whereas those in $[NiL^2]^{2+}$ are not involved in coordination. Interestingly, $L^3$ reacts with $Cu^{2+}$ ion to form $[Cu(HL^3)]^{3+}$, in which one tertiary amino group is not involved in coordination.

Thiosemicarbazones의 몇 가지 코팔트(II) 및 니켈(II) 착물에 대한 합성, 항박테리아 및 항균 활성 (Synthesis, Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities of Some Cobalt(II) and Nickel(II) Complexes of Thiosemicarbazones)

  • 두 가지 새로운 thiosemicarbazone으로, 예를 들면, 4[N-(4'-ethylbenzalidene)amino]antipyrine thiosemicarbazone(EBAAPTS) 및 4[N-(2',4'-dimethylbenzalidene)amino]antipyrine thiosemicarbazone(DMBAAPTS)를 합성하여 그 특성을 규명하였다. 이들 thiosemicarbazone(EBAAPTS 및 DMBAAPTS)의 코발트(II) 및 니켈(II)에 대한 착물화 특성을 조사하였다. EBAAPTS 및 DMBAAPTS와 코발트(II) 및 니켈(II) 염과의 반응을 뜨거운 에탄올 용액에서 수행한 결과, 일반적 조성으로 [$MX_2(L)H_2O$] (M=$Co^{2+}$ 또는 $Ni^{2+}$; X=$Cl^-$, $Br^-$, $NO_3^-$, $NCS^-$ 또는 $CH_3COO^-$; L=EBAAPTS 또는 DMBAAPTS)을 갖는 새로운 착물의 형성을 확인하였다. 새롭게 합성한 이들 착물에 대해 원소분석, 분자량, 몰전도도, 자기수자율, 적외선 및 자외선 분광학 등의 방법으로 특성을 규명하였다. 니트로벤젠 용액에서 이들 착물의 몰전도도를 측정한 결과, 비전해질 성질을 가짐을 알았다. 또한, 모든 착물은 높은-스핀 형태였다. 분광학적 연구로부터 [$MX_2(L)H_2O$] 형의 코발트(II) 및 니켈(II) 착물은 팔면체의 기하구조를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 이들 착물을 이용하여 항박테리아 및 항균 활성을 여러 종류의 병원균, 세균 및 박테리아에 대해 조사하여 생물학적 활성을 고찰하였다.

  • Studies on the molecular construction and structures of $M(NO_3)_2$ (M = Cu(II), Ni(II)) complexes with 1,2-bis(dimethyl-3-pyridylsilyl)ethane (L) have been carried out. Formation of each molecular skeleton appears to be primarily associated with a suitable combination of bidentate N-donors of L and coordinating nature of octahedral metal(II) ions: [$Cu(NO_3)_2(L)_2$] yields a 2-dimensional sheet structure consisting of 44-membered $Cu_4L_4$ skeleton whereas $[Ni(L)_2(H_2O)_2](NO_3)_2$ produces an interpenetrated 3-dimensional structure consisting of 66-membered cyclohexanoid ($M_6L_6$) skeleton. The Cu(II) ion prefers nitrate whereas the Ni(II) ion prefers water molecules as the fifth and the sixth ligands.
