Deping characteristics of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O ceramics (Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O 세라믹의 도우핑 특성)

  • We investigated the effects of doping elements on the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O ceramics. The doping elements can be classified into four groups depending on their supeconducting characteristics in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O structure. The first group of doping elements(Co, Fe, Ni and Zn) substitute into the copper site and can reduce the critical temperatures of the 2223 and 2212 phases. The second group of doping elements(Y and La) substitute into the Ca site and cause the disappearance of the 2223 phase and increase the critical temperatures in the 2212 phase. The third group of doping elements(P and K) have a tendency to decompose the superconducting phase and reduce the optimal sintering temperature. The fourth group of doping elements(B, Si, Sn and Ba) almost unaffected the superconductivity of the 2223 and 2212 phase.

  • In this paper, the minuteness structure, piezoelectric, and dielectric characteristics of $0.95{Pb(Sb_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})_{0.02})_{0.02}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.13}(Zr_{0.48}Ti_{0.52})_{0.85}}O_3+0.05Pb(CO_{1/2}W_{1/2})O_3+0.3%$ $MnO_2+0.3wt%$ CuO ceramics has been systematically investigated as a function of the sintering temperature after manufacturing the specimens with a general method. This study will be very helpful as basic data for developing ceramic materials, More study in a soon time for improving stability of temperature, effect of adds and stability and reality of frequency with improved production condition for specimens will give a powerful potentiality as a applied material of dielectric ceramics.

A Study on Reactivity of Zinc-Based Sorbents (아연계흡수제의 반응특성 규명연구)

  • In this research, effects of the types and amounts of binders and additives on desulfurization and regeneration reactivities of zinc titanate were investigated. Bentonite and kaolinite were used as binders and Mo-based, Ni-based, and Cu-based compounds were used as additives. A thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) was utilized to investigate reactivities of desulfurization and regeneration for each sorbent. Two-cycle reactions of desulfurization-regeneration were performed in the TGA reactor. Results of XRD analysis showed that all sorbents had the crystalline phases of $Zn_2TiO_2$ and $Zn_2Ti_3O_8$ irrespective of the type and amount of binder and additive. Kaolinite-bound sorbents gave higher surface areas than bentonite-bound ones and the surface areas and pore volumes of sorbents increased with amount of binder increased. It was found that the most suitable temperatures for desulfurization and regeneration were 680$^{\circ}$C and 730$^{\circ}$C, respectively, and the sorbent prepared by the addition of 3 mol% CuO showed the best performance in terms of desulfurization and regeneration. Nio-added sorbents had good regenerability whereas $MoO_3-based$ sorbents showed poor performance. In cycle experiments in a fixed bed reactor 3 mol% CuO-added sorbents showed high reactivity.

A Study on Contact Resistance Properties of Metal/CVD Graphene (화학기상증착법을 이용하여 합성한 그래핀과 금속의 접촉저항 특성 연구)

  • In this study, the electrical contact resistance characteristics between graphene and metals, which is one of important factors for the performance of graphene-based devices, were compared. High-quality graphene was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, and Al, Cu, Ni, and Ti as electrode materials were deposited on the graphene surface with equal thickness of 50 nm. The contact resistances of graphene transferred to SiO2/Si substrates and metals were measured by the transfer length method (TLM), and the average contact resistances of Al, Cu, Ni, and Ti were found to be 345 Ω, 553 Ω, 110 Ω, and 174 Ω, respectively. It was found that Ni and Ti, which form chemical bonds with graphene, have relatively lower contact resistances compared to Al and Cu, which have physical adsorption properties. The results of this study on the electrical properties between graphene and metals are expected to contribute to the realization of high-performance graphene-based devices including electronics, optoelectronic devices, and sensors by forming low contact resistance with electrodes.

Development of New Bimetal Material for Home Appliances by Using the Rolling Process (압연공정을 이용한 가전용 신 바이메탈재의 개발)

  • The bimetals of home appliances are mainly manufactured by cladding process and these are almost consisted with Cu alloy and Ni alloy. But it is very difficult to clad these alloys, because the brittle $Cu_3O_4$ oxide film formed easily on Cu alloy surface during cladding process. Clad rolling and heat treatment processes were applied for the development of bimetals by using the Ni alloy and the 3 types of Cu alloys. Optical microstructure, micro-hardness, specific resistance, and deflection and line profile of newly processed bimetals specimens were observed and measured in this paper. Inter-diffusion was observed between Cu and Ni element in the interface of heat treated Cu alloy and Ni alloy clad material. The C1220 and Invar36 clad material showed the best property of deflection among the 3 kind of clad materials.

  • Concentrations of Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Ni and Cr have been estimated in sediments of the Shitalakhya River at Polash-Ghorashal area, Narsingdi, Bangladesh. 36 samples of sediments from nine sampling point at different locations of Shitalakhya River were collected to determine the concentration of Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Ni, Cr and the samples were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The obtained results were compared with national and international guidelines. The levels of heavy metal concentrations in sediments were found to decrease in the order of Fe > Mn > Zn > Ni > Cu > Cr, respectively. The heavy metal concentration in sediment of Shitalakhya was below the recommended safe limits of heavy metals by WHO, FAO and other international standards. Contamination factor (CF) of Zn and Cu at sampling point Fsd2 show higher (> 1) values due to the influence of external discrete sources like wastage catalysts of ZnO and CuO. Geo-accumulation index values of the study indicate as non-contaminated to moderately contaminate.

A Study on the Electromagnetic Property of NiCuZn Ferrite by Additive SnO2, CaO. (SnO2, CaO가 NiCuZn Ferrite의 전자기적 특성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The electromagnetic properties and microstructures of the basic composition of (N $i_{0.2}$C $u_{0.2}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1.085}$(F $e_2$ $O_3$)$_{0.915}$ were invested by changing of the additive Sn $O_2$, CaO amounts and ferrite processes. There is no variation of grain size by changing additive amount. It can reduce the total loss when (N $i_{0.2}$C $u_{0.2}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1.085}$(F $e_2$ $O_3$)$_{0.915}$ composition sintered at 1150 $^{\circ}C$ better than 130$0^{\circ}C$. Additive CaO confirmed of useful addition for the reduce total loss, because it increasing sintering density. Decreasing total loss were observed by adding both Sn $O_2$ 0.06 wt% and CaO 0.4 wt%.

Stability Studies of Divalent and Trivalent Metal Complexes with 1,7,13-Trioxa-4,10,16-triazacyclooctadecane-N,$N^{\prime},N^{\prime}^{\prime}$-tri(methylacetic acid)

  • The potentiometric methods have been used to determined the protonation constants (logKiH) for the synthesized 1,7,13-trioxa-4,10,16-triazacyclooctadecane-N,N',N''-tri(methylacetic acid) [N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid)] and the stability constants (logKML) of the complexes of divalent and trivalent metal ions with the ligand N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid). The protonation constants of N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid) were 9.70 for logK1H, 9.18 for logK2H, 7.27 for logK3H, 3.38 for logK4H, and 2.94 for logK5H. The stability constants for the complexes of divalent metal ions with N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid) were 10.39 for Co2+, 10.68 for Ni2+, 13.45 for Cu2+, and 13.00 for Zn2+. The order of the stability constants for the complexes of the divalent metal ions with N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid) was Co2+ < Ni2+ < Zn2+ < Cu2+. The stability constants for the complexes of trivalent metal ions with N3O3-tri(methylacetic acid) were 16.20 for Ce3+, 16.40 for Eu3+, 16.27 for Gd3+, and 15.80 for Yb3+. The results obtained in this study were compared to those obtained for similar ligands, 1,7-dioxa-4,10,13-triazacyclopentadecane-N,N',N"-tri(methylacetic acid) and 1,7,13-trioxa-4,10,16-triazacyclooctadecane-N,N',N"-triacetic acid, which have been previously reported.

Oxygen reduction reaction and electrochemical properties of transition metal doped (Pr,Ba)Co2O5+𝛿

  • Transition metal (Me = Cu, Fe, Ni) doped (Pr, Ba)Co2O5+𝛿 (PBCO) material were investigated in terms of electronic structure change and electrochemical properties. It was confirmed that (Pr, Ba)(Co, Cu)O5+𝛿 (PBCCu) and (Pr, Ba)(Co, Fe)O5+𝛿 (PBCFe) showed cubic and orthorhombic structures, respectively, but (Pr, Ba)(Co, Ni)O5+𝛿 (PBCNi) showed secondary phases. PBCCu has an average particle diameter of 1093 nm, and PBCO and PBCFe have an average particle diameter of 495.1 nm and 728 nm, respectively. The average oxidation values of B site ions in PBCMe were calculated to be 3.26 (PBCO), 2.48 (PBCCu), 3.32 (PBCFe), and valence band maximum (VBM) was -0.42 eV (PBCO), -0.58 eV (PBCCu), -0.11 eV (PBCFe). It is expected that PBCCu easily interacts with adsorbed oxygen due to the lowest oxidation value and the highest VBM. The polarization resistance was 0.91 Ω cm2 (PBCO), 0.77 Ω cm2 (PBCCu), 1.06 Ω cm2 (PBCFe) at 600℃, showing the lowest polarization resistance of PBCCu.

Enhancement of Electromagnetic Properties of (NiCuZn)-Ferrites by Using Ultra-fine Powders Synthesis (나노분말합성에 의한 (NiCuZn)-Ferrites의 전자기적 특성 향상)

  • 본 연구에서는 공침법에 의한 초미세분말을 이용하여 제조된 (NiCuZn)-ferrite와 건식법을 이용하여 제조된 (NiCuZn)-ferrite의 저온소결 특성 및 전자기적 특성을 상호 비교 분석하였다. 조성은 (N $i_{0.4-x}$C $u_{x}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1+w}$(F $e_2$ $O_4$/)$_{1-w}$에서 x의 값을 0.2, w의 값은 0.03으로 고정하였고, 소결은 공침법으로 합성된 분말의 경우 초기열처리과정을 거쳐 최종적으로 90$0^{\circ}C$에서, 건식법의 경우 11$50^{\circ}C$의 온도에서 진행하였다. 그 결과, 공침법으로 제조된 (NiCuZn)-ferrite는 건식법으로 제조된 (NiCuZn)-ferrite보다 20$0^{\circ}C$이상 낮은 소결온도에서 높은 소결밀도 값을 가졌으며, 품질계수 등 칩 인덕터에서 중요한 요소인 전자기적 특성이 우수하게 나타났다. 또한, 공침법으로 합성된 페라이트는 분말의 초기열처리온도에 따라 최종소결 특성이 크게 변하였다. 그밖에 공침법과 건식법으로 합성한 (NiCuZn)-ferrite의 결정성, 미세구조들을 XRD, SEM, TEM을 이용하여 비교 고찰하였다.하였다.다.
