고에너지용 저합금강 제동디스크의 마모 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Wear Characteristics of Low-alloy Steel Brake Discs for High Energy Capacity)

  • 본 연구에서는 항공기 및 고속전철 등 대형 수송기기의 제동디스크에 적용되는 Ni-Cr-Mo-V계 및 Ni-Cr-Mo계 저합금강의 합금 성분 변화에 따른 마모 특성을 평가하였다. 경도시험 결과, C-Mo-V강의 경도는 39.4±0.9HRc로 가장 높았고, Ni-Cr-Mo강이 32.4±0.6HRc로 가장 낮았다. 마찰계수는 수직하중이 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 수직하중 1 N에서 Ni-Cr-Mo강의 마찰계수가 0.842, 수직하중 5 N에서 Mn-Cr-V강이 0.696으로 가장 높았다. Ni-Cr-Mo강은 수직하중 1 N에서 마모흔의 폭 711 ㎛, 깊이 8.24 ㎛, 마모량 11 mg, 수직하중 5 N에서 폭 1,017 ㎛, 깊이 19.17 ㎛, 마모량 17 mg으로 가장 큰 마모흔의 폭, 깊이 및 마모량을 보여주었다. 마모기구 분석 결과, 모든 시편에서 패임, 박리 및 응착이 관찰되었고, Ni-Cr-Mo강에서 소성변형이 더 우세하게 관찰되었다.

폭발용사에 의한 내에로젼성 서멧 피막 코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Erosion-Resistant Cermet Film Coating using the Detonation Spray Method)

  • The properties of the detonation sprayed cermet coating are investigated through the mechanical, corrosion and erosion test. The test results are also compared with the properties of the substrate materials, STS 329J1, dual phase stainless steel and the plasma sprayed cermet coatings. The two kinds of carbide cermet power, WC+NiCr, Cr$_3$C$_2$+NiCr were used in this experiment. The experimental results showed that the anti-corrosive and anti-erosive properties of the detonation sprayed cermet coatings are superior to the plasma sprayed cermet coatings. The WC+NiCr cermet coating appears to be more effective than Cr$_3$C$_2$+NiCr cermet coating in abrasive erosion environment, whereas the Cr$_3$C$_2$+NiCr cermet coatings are more effective in cavitation erosion environment.

  • The corrosion characteristics of Fe-18Cr-10Ni steels were studied between $600^{\circ}C$ and $1000^{\circ}C$ in Ar+(0.2, 1)%$SG_2$ gas for up to 300 hr in order to employ Fe-18Cr-10Ni steels in the coal-fired power plants. The corrosion resistance of Fe-18Cr-10Ni steels was good due mainly to the high amount of Cr, which formed $Cr_2O_3$ from the initial corrosion stage. Fe in the steels corroded to mainly $Fe_2O_3$ and $Fe_3O_4$. Ni was not susceptible to corrosion under the current corrosion condition. Relatively thin, single-layered scales formed.

  • DC magnetron 스파터링 방법으로 $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ 계 수평 자기 기록용 박막을 제조하였다. $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ 의사 삼원계(pseudo-ternary) 박막의 Ni 및 P의 함량 변황 따른 자기적 특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 박막의 조성을 조절함으로써 최대 1500 Oe의 보자력을 얻을 수 있었다. P 첨가에 따른 보자력 향상의 원인으로는 면내 이방성(in-plane anisotropy) 향상, 입자 크기의 변화, P 성분의 입계편석에 따른 입자간의 decoupling 등을 들 수 있다. 또한 TEM으로 미세 구조를 관찰한 결과 P 가 첨가되면 입자의 크기가 작아지면서 입자간의 자기적 decoupling이 일어남을 알 수 있었다.

도재용착주조관용 Co-Cr합금의 주조성 및 결합강도 관찰 (Observation of the Castability and Bonding Strength of a Co-Cr alloy for Porcelain Fused to Metal Crown)

  • Purpose: This study was to analyze the castability, surface oxide characteristic of Co-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown and the bonding strength of porcelain fused to metal crown. Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown was used for tests of the castability and surface oxide state and shear bonding strength by various porcelain. The aim of this study was to suggest the differences of result according to Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy. Methods: The kinds of alloy as test specimen was Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy. The castability index on the alloy specimens. The surfaces of two alloys were analyzed by SEM and EDX in order to observe oxide characteristic. And the shear test was performed by MTS. Results: The castability index of Co-Cr alloy was 96.8% and Ni-Cr alloy was 94.4%. The strongest bonding strength of Co-Cr alloy was shown 67.37 MPa. Conclusion: The shear bonding strength between Co-Cr alloy and EX3 porcelain was the strongest comparing with others. And all of each alloy was indicated as same level about the castability.

레이저빔에 의한 계면경사 Ni-Cr/steel 재료 제조에 관한 연구 (A study on the Fabrication of Graded-Boundary Ni-Cr/Steel Material by Laser Beam)

  • For a development purpose of thick metal / metal Graded-Boundary Materials(GBM), a basic research on the fabrication of Ni-Cr/steel GBM was carried out by a laser beam and its mechanical properties and thermal characteristics were investigated. In order to produce a compositionally graded boundary region between substrate steel and added Ni-Cr alloy, a series of surface alloying treatments was performed with a high power CO$_2$ laser beam. Ni-Cr sheet was placed on a low carbon steel plate(0.18%C), and then a CO$_2$ laser beam was irradiated on the surface to produce a homogeneous alloyed layer. On this first surface-alloyed layer, another Ni-Cr sheet was placed and then the CO$_2$ laser beam was irradiated again to produce second surface-alloyed layer. Sequential repetitions of laser surface alloying treatment 4 times resulted in a graded-boundary region with the thickness of about 1.4mm. Simultaneous concentration profiles of different kinds of alloying elements(Ni and Cr) showed from 42%Ni, 45%Cr and 13%Fe on surface region to 0%Ni, 0%Cr and 99%Fe in substrate region. Also a thermal conductivity gradient resulted in graded-region and its value changed from 0.03㎈/cm s$\^{C}$ in surface region to 0.1㎈/cm s$\^{C}$ in substrate region. Microstructural observation showed that any visible root porosities and solidification shrinkage cracks were not formed in graded region between alloyed layer and substrate region during rapid cooling.

CoCr 기반 합금의 초기 마모 특성에 대한 정량적 평가 (Quantitative Assessment of Initial Wear Characteristics of CoCr-Based Alloys)

  • CoCr-based alloys have been developed as wear-resistant materials owing to their excellent mechanical properties and strong wear resistance. The purpose of this study is to experimentally assess the frictional and wear characteristics of CoCr-based alloys slid against two different counter materials subjected to various normal forces to determine the expansion applicability of CoCr-based alloys. CoCrMo and CoCr alloys were selected as the target materials and NiCr and NiCrB alloys as counter materials. Experimental tests were performed using a pin-on-reciprocating plate tribo-tester under dry lubrication. Before performing the tests, the surface of the specimens was observed through confocal microscopy and the hardness was measured using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. The wear volume of the plate was calculated at the end of the tests using confocal microscope data, and the wear rate was quantitatively obtained based on Archard's wear law. From the results, the wear rates of the CoCrMo specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB are 7.69 × 10-6 ㎣/Nm and 5.26 × 10-6 ㎣/Nm, respectively. The wear rates of the CoCr specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB were higher than those of the CoCrMo specimens by factors of approximately 4 and 8, respectively. The CoCrMo specimens further exhibited lower friction characteristics than the CoCr specimens. The findings of this study will be useful for expanded applications of CoCr-based alloys as wear-resistant materials for various mechanical parts.

연 X선 방사광 분광법을 이용한 TCr2O4(T = Fe, Co, Ni) 스피넬 산화물의 전자구조 연구 (Investigation of Electronic Structures of TCr2O4 (T = Fe, Co, Ni) Spinel Oxides by Employing Soft X ray Synchrotron Radiation Spectroscopy)

  • 이 연구에서는 방사광 연 X선 광흡수 분광법(soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy: XAS)을 이용하여 $TCr_2O_4$(T = Fe, Co, Ni) 스피넬 산화물들의 전자 구조를 연구하였다. 전이금속 이온들의 2p 준위의 흡수에 의한 XAS 측정으로부터 T(T = Fe, Co, Ni) 이온들의 원자가는 공통적으로 2가($T^{2+}$)이며, Cr 이온의 원자가는 3가 ($Cr^{3+}$) 임을 발견하였다. 그리고 T 이온들은 정사면체 대칭성을 가진 A 사이트에 주로 위치하고, Cr 이온은 정팔면체 대칭성을 가진 B 사이트에 주로 위치함을 알 수 있었는데, 이러한 발견을 통하여 $TCr_2O_4$는 정상 스피넬에 가까운 구조를 가지고 있다고 결론지을 수 있다. 또한 $FeCr_2O_4$$NiCr_2O_4$에서는 얀-텔러 변형이 중요한 역할을 하지만, $CoCr_2O_4$는 얀-텔러 변형이 없는 입방체 구조를 유지하는 원인을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 $TCr_2O_4$에서 $Cr^{3+}$ 상태의 이온들과 $T^{2+}$ 상태의 이온들 간의 반강자성 결합이 이 산화물들의 자성 특성을 결정하는데 중요한 역할을 한다고 생각된다.

HVOF 용사된 NiCoCrAlY 코팅의 산호막 관찰 (Microstructural Observation of Scales formed on HVOF-sprayed NiCoCrAlY Coatings)

  • High velocity oxy-fuel sprayed NiCoCrAlY coatings were oxidized between 1000 and $1200^{\circ}C$ in air, and the oxide scales were examined by XRD, SEM/EDS, and EPMA. The unoxidized coatings consisted mainly of ${\gamma}$'$-Ni_3$Al, with some ${\gamma}$-Ni. The major oxide formed on the coatings was $\alpha$ $-Al_2$$O_3$. Additionally, (CoCr$_2$$O_4$, $CoAl_2$$O_4$) spinels and $Al_{5}$ $Y_3$$O_{12}$ coexisted. NiO was not found, despite of high amount of Ni in the coating. Below the oxide layer, internally formed $Al_2$$O_3$ existed.

Precipitation Behavior of ${\gamma}"$ in Severely Plastic Deformed Ni-base Alloys

  • The precipitation behaviors of ${\gamma}"(Ni_3Nb)$ in four Ni-base alloys were investigated. The four alloys were forged Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy, mechanically alloyed Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy, IN 718 alloy and ECAPed(equal channel angular pressing) IN 718 alloy. Aging treatment was employed at either $600^{\circ}C$ or $720^{\circ}C$ for 20 hrs. The TEM observation and hardness test were performed to identify the formation of ${\gamma}"$. The precipitation of ${\gamma}"$ was noticed after aging at $600^{\circ}C$ for 20 hrs in the mechanically alloyed Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy and ECAPed IN 718 alloy, while it was observed after aging at $720^{\circ}C$ for 20 hrs in the forged Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy and IN 718 alloy before ECAP. The lower aging temperature for ${\gamma}"$ precipitation in the mechanically alloyed Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy and ECAPed IN 718 alloy than in the forged Ni20Cr20Fe5Nb alloy and IN 718 alloy before ECAP appeared to be due to the severe plastic deformation which occurred during mechanical alloying or ECAP.
