25Cr-20Ni series strainless steel have an excellent high temperature strength, high oxidation and high corrosion resistance. However, further improvement can be creep strength by work hardening prior creep. In the present study, the effect of prestraining at room temperature on the creep behavior of a Class M(STS310S) and a Class A(STS310J1TB) alloy containing precipitates have been examined. Prestraining was carried out at room temperature and range of prestrain was $0.5{\sim}2.5$ % at STS310J1TB and $2.0{\sim}7.0$ % at STS310S. Creep behavior and creep rate of pre-strained specimens were compared with that of virgin specimens. Room temperature prestraining produced the creep life that is longer than that of a virgin specimen both for STS310J1TB and STS310S when creep test carried out at the temperature lower than recrystallization temperature. The reason for this improvement of creep life was ascribable to the interaction between dislocations and precipitates in addition to the dislocation-dislocation interaction in STS310J1TB and the dislocation-dislocation interaction in STS310S. The beneficial effect of prestraining in STS310J1TB was larger than that of STS310S.
l2wt%Cr Steel has been applied on turbine bucket and nozzle partition material of power plant. Turbine bucket and nozzle get damaged by solid particle within steam, therefore they are protected by surface treatments such as ion nitriding, boriding and chrome carbide HVOF spray coating. In this study, solid particle erosion(SPE) characteristics after these surface treatments are examined at operating temperature 540$^{\circ}C$ and 590$^{\circ}C$ of fossil power plant and the mechanism of damage was studied. Erosion of 12wt%Cr steel is originated by micro cutting and that of boriding and chrome carbide HVOF spray is originated by these mechanism - repeating collision, crack initiation and propagation. As the results of SPE test at 540$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}$ impact angle that is the most commonly occurred in power plant, Boriding had the best SPE -resistance property, Cr$_2$C$_3$-25(Ni20Cr) HVOF spayed and ion nitrided samples were also better than bare metals(l2wt%Cr Steels). At 590$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}$ impact angle, Boriding had also the most superior characteristic and HVOF spay sample was better than bare metal.
The soil developed from volcanic ash in Jeju Island, Korea, were classified as typical Andisols. The soils had acidic pH, high water contents, high organic matters and clay-silty textures. The crystalline minerals of the samples were mainly composed of ferromagnesian minerals such as olivine and pyroxene, and iron oxides such as magnetite and hematite derived from basaltic materials. A large amount of gibbsite was found at the subsurface horizon as a secondary product from the migration of excessive aluminum. In addition, our study has shown that considerable amounts of poorly ordered minerals like allophane and ferrihydrite were present in Jeju soils. The contents of $SiO_2$ were lower than those of other soil orders, but $A1_2O_3$ and $Fe_2O_3$ contents were higher. These results are some of the important chemical properties of Andisols. The contents of heavy metals were in the range of $84{\sim}198$ for Zn, $56{\sim}414$ for Ni, $38{\sim}150$ for Co, $132{\sim}1164\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ for Cr, which are higher than the worldwide values in most of the soils. Some soil samples contained relatively high levels of Cr exceeding 1000 mg/kg. Mean reduction capacity of the Jeju soils was $6.53\;mg\;L^{-1}$ reduced Cr(VI), 5.1 times higher than that of the non-volcanic ash soils from inland of Korea. The soil reduction capacity of the inland soils had a good correlation with total carbon content (R = 0.90). However, in spite of 20 times higher total carbon contents in the Jeju soils, there was a week negative correlation between the reduction capacity and the carbon content (R = -0.469), suggesting that the reduction capacity of Jeju soils is not mainly controlled by the carbon content and affected by other soil properties. Correlations of the reduction capacity with major elements showed that Al and Fe were closely connected with the reduction capacity in Jeju soil (R = 0.793; R = 0.626 respectively). Moreover, the amounts of Ni, Co and Cr had considerable correlations with the reduction capacity (R = 0.538; R = 0.647; R = 0.468 respectively). In particular, in relation to the behavior of redox-sensitive Cr, the oxidation of the trivalent chromium to mobile and toxic hexavalent chromium can be restricted by the high reduction capacity in Jeju soil. The factors controlling the reduction capacity in Jeju soils may have a close relation with the andic soil properties explained by the presence of considerable allophane and ferrihydrite in the soils.
Purpose: In this study, for the reasons of observing the changes when using bonding agent with Ni-Cr alloy and Co-Cr alloy and using VM13 and Vintage MP ceramic which have the disparity in coefficient of thermal expansion, it is carried out to evaluate the characteristics of the bonding agent through the analysis of the interface between metal and ceramic and the analysis of bond strength by variable. Methods: The surface treatment was performed on the two kinds of alloy(Ni-Cr alloy and Co-Cr alloy) specimens, which were sandblasted and were treated with bonder application. The metal-ceramic interfaces were analyzed with EPMA in order to ionic diffusion, and the shear test was performed. Results: As a result of observation of metal-ceramic interfacial properties, it was observed that Cr atoms were spread from the alloy body to the ceramic floor in the specimen of Group B. It was also seen that Cr, W atoms were spread from the alloy body to the ceramic floor in the specimen of Group S. In consequence of observing Shear bond strength, it was calculated that the specimen of BSV was 27.75(${\pm}11.21$)MPa, BSM was 27.02(${\pm}5.23$)MPa, BCV was 30.20(${\pm}5.99$)MPa, BCM was 27.94(${\pm}10.76$)MPa, SSV was 20.83(${\pm}2.58$)MPa, SSM was 23.98(${\pm}3.94$)MPa, SCV was 32.32(${\pm}4.68$)MPa, and SCM was 34.54(${\pm}10.63$)MPa. Conclusion: In the metal-ceramic interface of Bellabond plus sample group, diffusion of Cr atoms was incurred and diffusion of C Cr atoms and W atoms in the sample group of $Starloy{(R)}\;C$ was observed. Using bonding agent showed the higher bond strength than using the sand blasting treatment. In the Bellabond plus alloys, the specimen group with the use of binding materials showed higher shear bond strength, but didn't show statistically significant differences (p>0.05). In the $Starloy{(R)}\;C$ alloys, the specimen group with the use of binding materials showed higher shear bond strength and statistically significant differences(p<0.05). In terms of VM13 ceramic, it was in the Bellabond plus alloys that the high shear bond strength was showed, but there's no statistically significant differences(p>0.05). In terms of Vintage MP ceramic, it was in the $Starloy{(R)}\;C$ alloys that the high shear bond strength was showed and statistically significant differences(p<0.05). Metal-ceramic to fracture of the shear strength measurements and an analysis of all aspects of military usage fracture of the composite, respectively.
One of the weak points of the Cr-doped SZO is that until now, it has only been fabricated on perovskite substrates, whereas NiO-ReRAM devices have already been deposited on Si substrates. The fabrication of RAM devices on Si substrates is important for commercialization because conventional electronics are based mainly on silicon materials. Cr-doped ReRAM will find a wide range of applications in embedded systems or conventional memory device manufacturing processes if it can be fabricated on Si substrates. For application of the commercial memory device, Cr-doped $SrZrO_3$ perovskite thin films were deposited on a $SrRuO_3$ bottom electrode/Si(100)substrate using pulsed laser deposition. XRD peaks corresponding to the (112), (004) and (132) planes of both the SZO and SRO were observed with the highest intensity along the (112) direction. The positions of the SZO grains matched those of the SRO grains. A well-controlled interface between the $SrZrO_3$:Cr perovskite and the $SrRuO_3$ bottom electrode were fabricated, so that good resistive switching behavior was observed with an on/off ratio higher than $10^2$. A pulse test showed the switching behavior of the Pt/$SrZrO_3:Cr/SrRuO^3$ device under a pulse of 10 kHz for $10^4$ cycles. The resistive switching memory devices made of the Cr-doped $SrZrO_3$ thin films deposited on Si substrates are expected to be more compatible with conventional Si-based electronics.

Effect of heating rate on microstructure of brazed joints with STS 304 Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger (PCHE),which was manufactured as large-scale($1170(L){\times}520(W)){\times}100(T)$, mm), have been studied to compare bonding phenomenon. The specimens using MBF 20 was bonded at $1080^{\circ}C$ for 1hr with $0.38^{\circ}C/min$ and $20^{\circ}C/min$ heating rate, respectively. In case of a heating rate of $20^{\circ}C/min$, overflow of filler metal was observed at the edge of a brazed joints showing the height of filler metal was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $68{\mu}m$. At the center of the joints, CrB and high Ni contents of ${\gamma}$-Ni was existed. For the joints brazed at a heating rate of $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, the height of filler was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $86{\mu}m$ showing the overflow of filler was not appeared. At the center of the joints, only ${\gamma}$-Ni was detected gradating the Ni contents from center. This phenomenon was driven from a diffusion amount of Boron in filler metal. With a fast heating rate $20^{\circ}C/min$, diffusion amount of B was so small that liquid state of filler metal and base metal were reacted. But, for a slow heating rate $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, solid state of filler metal due to low diffusion amount of B reacted with base metal as a solid diffusion bonding.
The influence of the cooling condition after solution treatment on the high temperature fatigue resistance of 23Cr-26Ni heat resistant steel was investigated. Two different cooling conditions were applied to the steel after solution treatment at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. One specimen was water quenched immediately after the solution treatment. The other one was furnace cooled at a rate of $0.5^{\circ}C/min$ down to $750^{\circ}C$ after the solution treatment. Then, both specimens were aged at $750^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. Under two different heat treatment conditions, the low cycle fatigue (LCF) test was performed at $600^{\circ}C$ and room temperature (RT). Only cyclic hardening continued from the beginning until fracture at all strain amplitudes during LCF at $600^{\circ}C$. This phenomenon was attributed to the increase in the dislocation density due to cyclic deformation, which resulted in the interaction between the newly created dislocations and precipitates. Cyclic hardening followed by saturation and cyclic softening was observed at RT. Cyclic softening was attributed to the dislocation annihilation rate exceeding the dislocation generation rate. Other probable factor for cyclic softening was some cavities formed around grain boundaries after 20 cycles. WQ and FC have a similar LCF behavior at RT and $600^{\circ}C$ as shown in the cyclic stress response curves.
The purpose of this experiment was to determind whether the gold electrodeposit on Pd-Ag and Ni-Cr alloys influences on the shear bond strength between veneering resin and silicoated metal surface. All the metal specimens were sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide and followed by silicoating and resin veneering. According to the metal surfaces to be veneered, experimental groups were divided into five. Group Prec : Gold alloy without gold coating Group Semi : Pd-Ag alloy without gold coating Group Base : Ni-Cr alloy without gold coating Group Semi-G : Pd-Ag alloy with gold coating Group Base-G : Ni-Cr alloy with gold coating All specimens were thermocycled 1,000 times at temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ to $55^{\circ}C$. The effects of gold electrodeposit on the shear bond strength between resin and metal interface were measured and fractured surface of the resin veneered metal was examined under the scaning electron microscope. The following results were obtained 1. The shear bond strength between resin and metal was $64.51{\pm}11.11Kg/cm^2$ in Prec group, $62.77{\pm}11.23Kg/cm^2$ in Base group and $58.97{\pm}9.20Kg/cm^2$ in Semi Group. There was no significant difference among the groups. 2. The bond strength in groups Semi-G and Base-G decreased about 17%, compared to the nongold-electrodeposit groups(Semi, Base). 3. In groups of non electrodeposit(Prec, Semi, Base), fracture occurred at the interface between alloy and resin, while fracture interface was observed between gold coating and resin in group Semi-G, and between metal substrate and gold coating in group Base-G respectively.

The Standards, Measurement and Testing Programme (SM&T-formerly BCR) extraction procedure was applied to fractionate Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn in 23 top soil samples into: (i) exchangeable phase; (ii) reducible phase; (iii) oxidisable(sulfides and organics bound) phase; and (iv) residual phase. Fractions of Cr and Ni were in the order of residual > oxidisable > reducible > exchangeable phase. The oxidisable phase was identified as dominant for Cu and Pb. Zn had the highest ratio of exchangeable phase in comparision to the other metals. The bioavailability and mobility were assessed to be the greatest for Zn, followed by a decreasing order of Pb, Cu, Ni and Cr. All metal average concentrations in topsoil samples was higher in industrial sites than in agricultural sites. Our results revealed higher concentrations in topsoil samples (0~15 cm) than in sub soils (15~30 cm, 30~60 cm) for most metals at six sites (No. 5, 6, 17, 19, 20, 23). The fractions of exchangeable, reducible ad oxidisable phases showed relatively high correlation with soil pH, Fe/Mn oxide concentrations and organic matter contents, respectively.

The various surface treated conditions of Fe-3.0%Ni-0.7%Cr-1.4%Mn-X steel such as as-received, ion nitriding, DLC coated, DLC coated after nitriding for 3 hrs and 6 hrs were investigated to evaluate the beneficial effect for plastic mold steel. Micro Vickers hardness tester was used to estimate nitriding depth from the hardness profile and to measure hardness on the surface. Elastic modulus and residual stress were measured by a nanoindentator. Scratch test and SP (small ball punch test) were utilized to assess the adhesive strength of DLC coating. The depth of nitriding layer was measured as $50{\mu}m$ for the condition of 3 hrs nitriding and $90{\mu}m$ for that of 6 hrs nitriding. Hardness, elastic modulus, residual stress of DLC coating were 20.37 GPa, 162.78 GPa and -1456 MPa respectively. Residual stress on the surface of DLC coating after nitriding could increase to -3914 MPa by introducing nitriding before DLC coating. During the 'Ball-On-Disc' test ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ particles pulled out from the surface of nitrized layer tend to enhance abrasive wear mode since the fraction of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ (Fe4N) in ion-nitrized layer is known to increases with nitriding time. Thus the specific wear rate of the nitriding layer increased. Comparing with nitriding the specific wear rate in work piece disc as well as ball decreased prominently in DLC coating due to the remarkable reduction in friction coefficient.
