Finally, the arbitration institution for media rights should be established under the Korea Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport. This is practical action for marine crime prevention.
This study, based upon the Sturges' crisis stages, examines the crisis response communication strategies of Korea Professional Football League(KPFL) for the K-league match-fixing case as well as the frequency of related news articles and the source of information. To explore the crisis response communication strategies the Korea Professional Football League used, a total of 118 news articles were analyzed using the content analysis and frequency analysis. The unit of analysis for crisis response communication strategies is sentence. The frequency of news articles based upon the crisis stages shows highest rate at the acute crisis stage. The source of information for news reports shows that KPFL was one of the major sources of the news reports. This study examined the problem of utilizing celebrity SNS in online news, which have increased by an average of 745 every year since 2010, reaching about 10,000 in 2021. 40 online newspapers were selected and 202,730 news articles produced by these newspapers in July 2021 were analyzed. As a result, 1.27% (2,582) of all articles were found to be using celebrity SNS as a source. This indicates that on average, online newspapers produce 2.08 celebrity SNS-utilized articles per day and 64.7 articles per month. Specifically, entertainer SNS (53.7%) was used the most compared to SNS of politician(39.8%) and influencer(6.5%). Instagram(69.1%, 57.1%) was utilized the most for entertainer and influencer and this were mostly related to personal information. On the other hand, Facebook(70.4%) was cited the most for politician, mostly related to opinions on social/political issues. The average length of SNS-based articles was 536 characters. The problem with news articles utilizing SNS is that most articles simply copy the SNS content without additional coverage(88.4%), and 14% of the articles did not disclose the exact source. Implication of the research on 40 online news agency is discussed.

This study searched and analyzed news and information on the Korea-U.S. Summit to explore which political agenda is spreading among Korean newspapers and social media. The result of the analysis revealed that, on the one hand, the conservative-leaning newspaper, Chosunilbo, covered the unresolved issue between two countries. The principal source of news was the opposition party. On the other hand, the progressive-leaning newspaper, Kyunghany Sinmun, highlighted President Moon's visit to the United States and described the visit to the United States as an achievement. In this paper, the principal source of news is the ruling party. Both conservative and the progressive newspapers did not present a negative view of the United States. In the case of Chosunilbo, it mentioned that foreign policy priority of President Biden is human rights in North Korea. If the two countries do not solve this issue, the relationship between Korea and the United States will not develop further. Second, I searched YouTube videos about the Korea-U.S. summit and conducted a network analysis to understand the influence of YouTube videos and explore their relationship the each other. The results of the analysis revealed that the 10 most influential videos portrayed the Moon government positively. These videos held the achievement of the visit to the United States in highly esteem and framed it positively, similarly to the progressive newspaper.
The main purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of corporate PR practitioners whose opinions were quoted as news sources and of the related articles in the economic section of the nation's three largest newspapers. The results revealed that the PR practitioners were mostly males with the job title of general manager or manager working for large electronics/IT or financing companies in Seoul and near metropolitan areas. In particular, such overwhelming features were more clearly salient in the articles related to conflicts. However, the phenomena seem to have been somewhat eased since 2002 when the newspapers came out with the specialized economic section. Analyzing the articles in terms of the channel of covering news, theme of news, and the existence of any conflict, we found statistically significant differences in the characteristics of PR practitioners. In addition, the comparison between each period before and after the emergence of the specialized economic section also showed statistically significant differences in the characteristics of the PR practitioners in many cases.
Online and mobile games represent digital entertainment. Not only the game grows fast, but also it has been noted for unique business models such as a subscription revenue model and free-to-play with partial payment. But, a recent revenue mechanism, called a loot-box system, has been criticized due to overspending, weak protection to teenagers, and more over gambling-like features. Policy makers and research communities have counted on expert opinions, review boards, and temporal survey studies to build countermeasures to minimize negative effects of online and mobile games. In this process, speed was not seriously considered. In this study, we attempt to use a big data source to find a way of observing a trend for policy makers and researchers. Specifically, we tried to apply the Word2Vec data mining algorithm to news repositories. From the findings, we acknowledged that the suggested design would be effective in lightening issues timely and precisely. This study contributes to digital entertainment service communities by providing a practical method to follow up trends; thus, helping practitioners have concrete grounds for balancing public concerns and business purposes.
Nepal is among the richest in terms of water resource availability and it is one of the most important natural resources of the country. Currently, 72% of the population is electrified through the national grid system. The power generation mix into the grid is hydro dominated with minor shares generated from solar and thermal (accounts for less than 1%). To achieve sustainable development in the power sector it is essential to diversify power generation mix into the grid. Knowing the facts, the government has a plan to achieve a 5-10% share of power generation from solar and mix it into the grid system. Solar is the second most abundant, prominent and free source of renewable in the context of Nepal. This study mainly focuses on the grid-connected solar system, its importance, present status, government efforts, and its need. It is based on the review of literature, news published in national newspaper online news and international organization's report.
Recently, new multimedia techniques using lighting and projection are often used for the production of broadcasting programs. Also news programs use DLP(Digital Lighting Processing) videos with good resolution escaping from the existing set changes. This paper examined the correlations between lighting sources and the resolution of DLP videos, and had a simulation, and then it proposed DLP used ideal lighting for news programs. This paper comparatively examined the resolution of DLP videos influenced by the conditions of lighting, using the videos picked up on the HD camera and the measuring monitor.
Scholars have considered Chaucer's House of Fame mostly as an ars poetica, in which the poet explores new poetic principles and subject matters, while making few attempts to understand the poem in its historical and social contexts. Investigating the nature of the "tidings" that Chaucer suggests as the new source of his poetic inspiration, this paper argues that the house of Rumor was modeled after late fourteenth century English society that experienced increased appetite for news. The political upheaval during the period from the English Rising in 1381 to the reign of Henry IV in the early fifteenth century produced an unprecedented amount of written and oral propaganda. The proliferation of seditious rumors as well as protests and promulgations during this period indicates how seriously medieval society was engaged with the circulation of news. Particularly, the case of John Shirle in 1381 and the legend about the survival of Richard II demonstrate the subversive power of medieval rumor that often served as a political discourse with which people expressed their oppositions to government. Conspicuous in the activities of both the government and late medieval political protestors was the extensive use of writing. The posting of bills in public places continued until the fifteenth century, when such activities became so common and dangerous that the government had to issue proclamations forbidding the circulation of such seditious writings. The number of extant royal proclamations, written protests, and pamphlets demonstrates that already in the late fourteenth and fifteenth centuries the notion of a discursive public space began to emerge. Whether written or orally transmitted, news and rumor circulated in late medieval England, creating a social space in which people shared their political opinions before the introduction of the early modern print culture. In The House of Fame Chaucer calls attention to the subversiveness of rumor, its potential as a public discourse, and the power of written communication in creating truth in order to appropriate these characteristics for his English poems.
This study investigated the news report tendency and frame by three major Korean television networks(KBS, MBC, and SBS) in their news reports on issues involving their own interests and considering in social level. The three issues chosen for this study are 'advertising regulations for total amount', 'the reallocation of 700MHz spectrum' and 'raising TV license fee'(this issue applicable only to KBS). By using content analysis method, this study identified extremely weighted tendency toward themselves by the network television channels. They have used highly biased tone and sources to reinforce their private interests in news reports about the three controversial issues. In terms of story content, the news reports have used attribution of responsibility frame dominantly in 'advertising regulations for total amount' issue, whereas the moral frame was dominant in the other two issues.
