  • In this paper, we propose the INDEM(Internet News Data Extraction Middleware) system for the removal of the unnecessary data in internet news. Although data on the internet can be used in various fields such as source of data of IR(Information Retrieval), Data mining and knowledge information service, it contains a lot of unnecessary information. The removal of the unnecessary data is a problem to be solved prior to the study of the knowledge-based information service that is based on the data of the web page. The INDEM system parses html and explores the XPath, and it is to perform the analysis. The user simply utilize INDEM by implementing an abstract class that provides INDEM, and can obtain the analysis information. INDEM System through this process delivers the analysis information including the main contents of news site to the users. In this paper, the INDEM system was adapted in a stand-alone and web service system and it was evaluated on the basis of 16 news site. As a result, performance of the INDEM system is affected in html source data size and complexity of used html grammar than the main news data size.

When threshold of acoustic model's output level was 100, 86.9% of whole target morpheme was included in post-processing result. At the same condition, applying length information based normalization, 81.25% of whole target morpheme was recognized. The purpose of normalization was to compensate long-length morpheme. According to experiment result, 75.13% of whole target morpheme was recognized KIF(314MB) had been produced from original news data(5,040MB). • The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the reporting practices and news production of the reporters working with Korean media over the past one year. To this end, this study has conducted in-depth interviews with reporters working with daily newspapers, news agencies, and broadcasting companies. The analysis of the interviews resulted in the following generalizations. The reporters are working at home, which was never experienced before the Covid-19 pandemic, and they have difficulties in covering their reporting beats because they have little or no access to contact points. The reporters rely heavily on indirect coverage and online briefings via phones or SNS because they have difficulties in meeting news sources in person. As a result, the diversity of news contents and the media's on-site monitoring functions has been severely weakened. In addition, the reporters have no chances to both exchange ideas with fellow reporters and to transfer the know-how of collecting news items to their juniors. This paper has also discussed the disruption of practices that the ongoing Covid-19 has brought to the media ecosystem from a variety of perspectives.

  • This paper explores the characteristics of curated news content. With content analysis of 1020 news clips, the study found that news values immersed in card news differed from those of traditional news. Specifically, timeliness was not regarded as a key factor in newsworthiness. Rather, information and social impacts were highly emphasized. Considering news consumers depend on traditional news for timely news, curated news content was not a replacement for traditional news but a supplement. By refurbishing photos from previous news reports and googling the web for related information, curated news reiterates social meaning and provides relevant information. Furthermore, salience of human interest can be explained by entertaining characteristics of curated news. In story forms, the list technique has several important points to stress, and was more frequently used than inverted pyramids. Another key finding of this study is man-on-the street as the most quoted main sources in the curatorial context.

In order to achieve the purpose of the research, 47,816 cases of news big data reported from December 31, 2019 to March 11, 2020 were divided into four periods based on the fourth stage of the crisis warning for infectious diseases, and a total of 20 topics were derived. Based on the results of the Topic Modeling analysis, this study proposed the following. First, it is necessary to refrain from provocative expressions such as "anxiety" and "fear" and use neutral and objective reporting terms. Second, more in-depth and contextual news production is required, breaking away from simple event news production. Third, it is necessary to prepare detailed crisis communication manuals for each situation related to infectious diseases. Fourth, we need reports that focus on citizens-led efforts to overcome the crisis. This research has the academic significance that it is the first paper to analyze news big data on COVID-19 using the Topic Modeling Analysis method, and the policy significance that can be used as the basis for developing national crisis communication policy.
