  • Patent strategy research has focused on the efficiency of licensing for investigation, analysis and utilization of application management, product and development task in finding patent idea, to establish patent strategy linked with management strategy and technology strategy. However, it is difficult to find the research on patent strategy that reflects an adaptive culture to enhance the internalization and performance of the established strategy. As a result, companies have been striving to imitate patent strategies of advanced companies that do not consider their industry and organizational culture. This study proposes a method of defining a firm 's patent strategy according to the competing value model that analyzes organizational culture as four frameworks. This study verifies the classification method through case studies, suggests a suitable patent strategy for the patent strategy type. This study has contributions in that discussing from a new point of view based on organizational culture theory and providing a IP strategic model with high practicality.

  • Psoriasis is one of the most common inflammatory skin disorders, with a global prevalence of 2% - 3%. It is an autoimmune skin disorder characterized by excessive generation of plaques on the skin with typical long-lasting red, itchy, and scaly lesions. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the anti-psoriatic effect of the methanolic extract of Persicaria senticosa (PS), a bioactive edible plant extract used in traditional medicine, using a mouse model of imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis. The daily topical application of IMQ could induce human psoriasis-like lesion. The extract ameliorated IMQ-induced psoriasis. Furthermore, hematoxylin and eosin staining and the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scores indicated that topical application of PS led to an improvement in erythema, scaling, and thickness scores of the mouse dorsal skin and a considerable decrease in the epidermal thickness of the ear and dorsal skin in the IMQ-induced psoriatic mouse model. We also studied the effect of PS on the proliferation of keratinocytes using HaCaT cells. The extract inhibited cell proliferation and IL-6 and pSTAT3 expression induced by M5 cocktail (comprising interleukin [IL]-1α, IL-17A, IL-22, oncostatin M, and tumor necrosis factor-α) in HaCaT cells. Thus, PS might serve as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of psoriasis.

  • Soil and groundwater contamination by petroleum hydrocarbon products is only one of many environmental problems in Korea. However, many environmental consulting companies have been targeted their business on this subject because the petroleum-oil-lubricant (POL) products have been widely used product and accidental releases of the products from storages resulted numerous small and large contaminated sites throughout Korea. Therefore, many small and large companies are actively participating in environmental assessment and remediation projects for the POL contaminated sites. Remedial technologies for the POL contaminated sites have been developed for many years by government and private institutions throughout the world. Development of a new decontamination technology for the POL contaminated sites is no longer attractive issue in research community because scientific bases of most cost-effective remedial technologies are well understood and have been used in the field by commercial sector. Numerous sites contaminated by underground tanks at gas stations have been remediated by relatively small companies in this country. We should appreciate their noticeable contributions as a frontier under very difficult market environment in Korea. We heard many successful stories as well as a few failure stories. Soil-groundwater remediation of POL contaminated site is not a simple task as shown in the text books or protocols. Therefore, failure risk is always with us, which requires continuous efforts for improvement of the technologies by the users and developers. In this presentation, author will discuss technical problems encountered and improvement made during implementation of several remedial technologies applied by Samsung Environmental Team. This is not a presentation about research or case study. We want to share our thought and experience with environmental engineers actively engaged in soil and groundwater remediation projects in Korea.

  • The animal production sector in Jordan is characterized by shortages of locally produced feedstuffs derived from rangeland, forage plants or from human food crops as by products. This is exacerbated by insufficient rainfall, overgrazing, early grazing and high stocking rate. Thus, subject to these constraints, other technological improvements are highly desirable to meet the needs of crop growth and animal production. Alternative adapted technologies are also desirable in order to meet the increased demand for red meat in relation to population growth along with the changes in the price subsidy for feedstuff. The technologies are those, which have been introduced to the animal production sector, obtained in agricultural research stations besides on-farm demonstrations. They include technologies suited for increasing birth and twining rates, synchronizing the mating period, introducing the early weaning method, and animal feed and sheep production. Economic assessments conducted in this study demonstrate promising results of hormonal and nutritional practices in improving production efficiency of Awassi sheep in Jordan. Jordanian published data between 1991 and 1998 were used. The examined practices were: 1) use of PMSG in estrus synchronization in ewes, 2) introduction of early lamb weaning program, 3) supplementation with $AD_3E$ for ewes and 4) the use of agro-industrial feed block as a feed supplement for grazing lambs. Production data were then subjected to partial budgeting for economical evaluation. The use of PMSG outperformed the control groups in fertility and net returns per ewe by US$ 8.36/ewe. The early weaning of lambs increased the net returns by US$ 3.90/lamb. The injection with vitamin $AD_3E$ showed an average additional net return of US$ 5.66/ewe. Feeding agriculture by-product blocks improved weight gain in the feed block groups and resulted in additional net returns of US$ 3.5/lamb. The economic viability and reproductive performance indicators demonstrate that efforts should be undertaken to disseminate these new practices in the development program.

  • Numerous products have been created in a digital format in the era of digitization. At an early stage, such products were provided in the format of individual digital file, requiring the individuals to own products by downloading them on the personal devices. With the development of Internet network, people began to consume digital goods in a new mode called 'streaming.' Streaming is a service provided through access-based consumption mode based on Internet network. Rather than downloading each file, individuals can utilize such product and services by connecting the network to their own devices. Access-based digital goods are distinguished from traditional ownership-based digital goods such as downloaded contents, in that permanent ownership is not allowed. Taken this into account, this study attempts to investigate how individuals' perception toward digital goods, the psychological ownership, differs according to the consumption mode. The results show that individuals feel less psychological ownership toward access-based digital goods than ownership-based digital goods. Our study provides several avenues to both theory and practice.

  • This study gives information for the enterprise to map out a positive marketing strategy and facilitate a new product development by researching and analyzing the specific character of the high income woman-brackets. In order to do that, based upon the materials of the National Statistical office, I made a selection of the high income brackets, subdividing their scholastic ability into four serfs. The subject of the study was the women from twenties to sixties among customers of a high class dress shop in Taejeon. I made up 600 questionnaires for them. using 441 of these for the statistical analysis and making available the correlation analysis, the primary factor analysis, and $X^2$-test. This study is classified into the type of women customers purchasing clothes who are the high-income brackets. Intended to study a special quality of purchasing according to income. 1. The purchasing manner of the high-income brackets customers is exposed the luxurious vain purchasing manner, the rational reasonable manner, and idiosyncrasy individual manner in order 1) The consumer of the high-income brackets in general prefer to a high class clothes. In the contrast, low-income brackets prefer to rational reasonable consumption in spending money on clothes. 2) The favorite consumption manner of the high income brackets is the luxurious vain purchasing manner. This consumption values the more symbolic means the things show than owing the goods. 2. The higher standard of education and younger tends to be high in the luxurious, vain purchasing. 3. The unreasonable purchasing show an high irrelation at the impulse buying arid self-satisfaction. 4. Self-satisfaction shows the highest interrelation than any other variations in the concern of clothes. 5. The symbolic images which exerts an influence upon purchasing manner are the notable elements of constituting as growing older. 6. • Men's fashion has not much changed due to the pervasive patriarchy Because of the change of gender roll and attitude towards one's appearance and fashion, men began to express themselves with fashion in the late 90's. The purpose of this study is to categorize men's image and their fashion styles from Korean TV dramas to provide informations for predicting men's fashion trend in rapidly changing market. Through the analysis of three dramas with 30% or more of audience rating by all age groups from January to July, 2009, nine distinctive male images were selected and their styles were analyzed; silhouette, details, materials, color, accessories, and hair-style. The results are as follows: In the past holding neat and straight line silhouettes but today shows tight silhouette. In color and detail, the use of brilliant chromatic colors, use of hight saturation colors, big and brilliant pattern, ruffles, frills, beads, knitwear, mix matched new composed materials, and light materials are dominant. While short and simple shape of hair-styles were predominant in the past, now we see more varied hair length. Not only that, variety of perms and colors are showed on TV screens. Hence, the results show that a lot of radical change has happened in the men's fashion, and marketing propositions that reflects this change in men's fashion market are requested along with trendy emotional product development and coordination proposals, and finally calls for more multilateral study and market search of male consumers.

  • Cation exchange resin complex of amlodipine free base has been investigated to improve the stability and dissolution profile. The complex was prepared by reacting amlodipine solution with activated cation exchange resin, and amlodipine content in the complex was 31.6% calculated by HPLC determination. Its product was not physical mixture but the complex formed by ionic bond, which was identified by microscope system, differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry. Each tablet containing amlodipine free base(I) and its complex(II) was prepared for the accelerated stability test ($40^{\circ}C$, 75%RH) and dissolution test in the pH 1.2 buffer solution and purified water media. Dissolution patterns of formulation II in both media were similar to those of $Norvasc^{(R)}$ tablet, but the pattern of formulation I in purified water was different. After 6 months storage under stability test, amlodipine content of formulation I, II and $Norvasc^{(R)}$ tablet were $99.3{\pm}1.2%,\;98.9{\pm}1.4%\;and\;83.9{\pm}3.4%$, respectively. While amlodipine free base was unstable at the condition, its complex was not only significantly stable, but also similar in the dissolution pattern. These results suggest the usefulness of complex as a stable carrier for amlodipine free base.

  • It can be said that Italian designs are unrestrained, aesthetic and art for arts sake, and they come to stylize their character based on geographical features, racial traits and culture. The Italian architects work for the reconstruction of their devastated country and spare no pains to produce competitive goods on international markets since the second wend war. In spite of a inherent scarcity of resources, Italian furniture is the product of mixture of aesthetic material and new material with creative gifts. A lot of companies succeed in finding and training capable designers and devote themselves to modem furniture industry. As a result, Italy becomes one of the worlds most eminent furniture industrial countries now. And the fame is owed to Italy's national awareness of the importance of the matter and endeavor without sparing systematic support. This research is to find out which factors have an influence on the progress of furniture design in Italy and to analyze how these factors build up formative arts combining with historical background in Italy. Moreover, this research suggests how to make contributions to the cause of furniture design growth when considering our geographical features, racial characteristics, culture and industrial circumstances, by analyzing the process of development and strategy in Italian design industry.

  • Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) is a new design approach, which aims to reduce the design cycle and the development cost, while improving the performance of the product. In order to develop a framework software where the multidisciplinary design is possible, several methods about the analysis codes integration, the analysis and optimization process management, and the software architecture, are proposed in this study. Centralized DataBase Management System (DBMS) is adopted. Both the Dynamic Link Library(DLL) and the File Interface are suggested and implemented as analysis codes integration methods. To efficiently manage the optimization process and the data flow, the Graphic Programming approach is introduced. The proposed integration methods are verified by two test case examples: Simple house design example and the aircraft wing design problem using three dimensional Panel Code.
