The reliability guarantee insurance policy for parts and materials was introduced to the market in 2003. This policy indemnifies manufactures for the repair/failure costs, recall expenses. In this paper, owing to the nature of the policy, we propose a new rate-making system considering the type of product and industry, quality control circumstances, record of guarantee performance, and exposures.

Internet commerce has the potential to propel a company to "break out" of existing strategic constraints and radically alter business processes, strengthen customer and supplier ties, and open up new markets. Therefore, many firms have rushed into internet commerce to conduct business more efficiently, create new business opportunities, and generate business value. Since internet shopping mall not only become a valuable channel for selling goods to customers, but also offer companies an important vehicle for attaining competitive advantages in the new digital economy, the design and content of internet shopping mall must reflect its business goals and customers' needs. However, as little empirical evidence on the effect of internet shopping mall contribution of firm performance exist, the functionality of a firm's internet shopping mall has been decided voluntarily from its business experience. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the marketing functional characteristics of internet shopping mall and its performance. 125 questionnaires from internet shopping malls which sell physical goods direct to an individual end consumer were collected. The results showed that some factors(price, product recognition, reliability enhancement) affect positive effects on the performance of internet shopping mall.

The pharmaceutical industry is an industry that provides medicines related to the health and life of the people. The pharmaceutical industry is a traditional regulation industry with the characteristics of R&D(Research and Development), purchasing, manufacturing, distribution and consumption under strict government management. Until now, pharmaceutical companies have continued to make efforts to maintain competitiveness through patent management, new product development, and marketing. However, industries are rapidly changing, including rising costs for developing new products and expanding generic markets. As these changes and uncertainties in the management environment increase, efforts are required to improve the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry from a new perspective. In this study, we intend to examine the impact of SCM(Supply Chain Management) dynamic capability of pharmaceutical companies on corporate performance through partnerships to respond to market changes and uncertainties. It was determined that the agility, visibility and flexibility that constitutes the SCM dynamic capabilities would affect the performance of pharmaceutical companies. In this study, the importance of SCM dynamic capabilities and cooperative relationships was identified through surveys by SCM managers of pharmaceutical companies. Consequently, in the pharmaceutical industry, which is a regulatory industry, we have identified that SCM dynamic capabilities and cooperative relationships with partner companies have a significant impact on corporate performance.

본 연구는 현대의 기업들이 신제품 개발을 위해 기존의 폐쇄형 기술개발 시스템이 아닌 기업 내 외부의 다양한 원천을 이용하는 개방형 혁신을 필요로 하고 있다는 점에 초점을 맞추어, 개방형 혁신을 달성하고 이것이 신제품개발 성과로 이어지게 하기 위한 주요 요인으로 꼽히고 있는 기업가지향성, 학습지향성과 개방형 혁신, 신제품개발 성과와의 관계를 분석하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구를 위해 기술창업기업 CEO 및 직원을 대상으로 설문조사하고 이를 구조방정식모형을 이용하여 실증 분석한 결과, 모형의 적합도 지수가 적절한 수준을 충족시키므로 본 연구모형은 적합한 것으로 나타났다(CMIN/DF=2.716, CFI=.911; TLI=.892; RMSEA=.068). 가설별로는 기업가지향성을 구성하고 있는 변수 중 위험감수성을 제외한(가설1-4) 혁신성, 진취성, 경쟁공격성이 매우 유의한 수준에서 개방형 혁신에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 개방형 혁신은 신제품개발성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있으며, 학습지향성은 개방형 혁신과 신제품개발 성과 모두에 긍정적 영향력을 가지고 있는 것이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 그 동안 기업의 성공적인 신제품 개발의 주요 요인으로 간주되어오던 기업가지향성, 학습 지향성, 개방형 혁신의 영향력이 모두 검증되었다는 학문적 시사점과 함께, 혁신과 신제품개발 분야에서 기업가지향성과 학습지향성이 담당해야 할 전략적 역할에 대해 실무적 시사점을 제시한다.

In order to build a new factory, we must have answers regarding the following questions; 1. what is to be produced? 2. how are the products to be produced? 3. how much of each product will be produced? The answers are related to product-design, process-design and capacity-design respectively and they are used for layout-design as the input data. Especially capacity design decision provides the information regarding the number of equipments required and the balance of the line. This paper introduces a case study on the capacity design for a new factory where the retainers of ball bearing are manufactured. A simulation model is developed with ARENA for analyzing the system considered. The major objectives of the study are evaluating the performance of the line which is originally suggested by the company, and finding out alternatives for improving the system. Number of WIP between the processes are also investigated because it affects the space planning of the layout.

PEM fuel cell produces electric power, water and heat by the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. The heating value is dependent on the molar enthalpy of vaporization of product water and the performance loss. In this paper, the heating value of fuel cell stack has been studied under various stack operating temperatures to achieve more efficient heat management. A technology using the molar enthalpy of vaporization of product water is suggested to reduce heat-up time during start-up of a fuel cell vehicle.

Non-verbal sound feedback, called earcon, has been used for portable digital electronic products to give appropriate information for the selected function. This study evaluated usability based on user cognition time, error rate, and subjective satisfaction using 20 male and female subjects. The study compared five major user functions from a portable digital electronic product with currently available earcons and the same functions from the product with the new earcons (suggested by this study) which considered user cognitive characteristics, such as loudness, pitch, melody, and length. For subjective evaluation, the study assessed various earcons by subjective impression of sounds using the seven-point rating scales. Major statistical results indicated that the new earcons significantly reduced user error rates and generally improved user performance functions, such as 'play, off, stop, fast forward, and rewind.'

This study was conducted to develop a domestic product for a flow control valve for a hydrogen refueling station, and a domestic prototype was manufactured and the durability performance evaluation was conducted through comparison with an imported products. The stress generated by the internal pressure was checked and safety was confirmed using a commercial structural analysis program, ABAQUS, in accordance with the withstand pressure test standards. In addition, after identifying the weak areas the fatigue life was predicted through a commercial software, fe-safe. This fatigue analysis showed that the hydrogen gas repeated test criteria were satisfied.

This paper provides a new estimation equation based on the concept of a minimum distance between the empirical and theoretical distribution functions under the most widely used progressive Type-II censoring scheme. For illustrative purposes, simulated and real datasets from a three-parameter Weibull distribution are analyzed. For comparison, the most popular estimation methods, the maximum likelihood and maximum product of spacings estimation methods, are developed together. In the analysis of simulated datasets, the excellence of the provided estimation method is demonstrated through the degree of the estimation failure of the likelihood-based method, and its validity is demonstrated through the mean squared errors and biases of the estimators obtained from the provided estimation equation. In the analysis of the real dataset, two types of goodness-of-fit tests are performed on whether the observed dataset has the three-parameter Weibull distribution under the progressive Type-II censoring scheme, through which the performance of the new estimation equation provided is examined.

In this paper, a new method is proposed for tracking the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the wideband moving source incident on uniform linear array sensors. DOA is estimated by focusing transformation matrices. To update focusing matrices along with new data snap shots, we use the FAST (Fast Approximate Subspace Tracking) method. Present focusing matrices are constructed by previous signal and its orthogonal basis vectors as well as present signal and its orthogonal basis vectors, which are the left and right singular vectors of the inner product of two approximated matrices. Simulation results are shown to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.
