This work deals with an explicit guidance and control architecture for autonomous lunar ascent and orbit injection, i.e., the locally-flat near-optimal guidance, accompanied by nonlinear reduced-attitude control. This is a new explicit guidance scheme, based on the local projection of the position and velocity variables, in conjunction with the real-time solution of the associated minimum-time problem. A recently-introduced quaternion-based reduced-attitude control algorithm, which enjoys quasi-global stability properties, is employed to drive the longitudinal axis of the ascent vehicle toward the desired direction. Actuation, based on thrust vectoring, is modeled as well. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations prove the effectiveness of the guidance, control, and actuation architecture proposed in this study for precise lunar orbit insertion, in the presence of nonnominal flight conditions.
This paper shows the Development of In-tank pressure regulator and Solenoid Valve used in FCV(Fuel Cell Vehicle). We have developed new type of Regulator and Solenoid through analysis of the structure and characteristics of component of FCS(Fuel Cell System) from the advanced technology. Now it is possible to localize the component by making use of the development of Regulator and Solenoid made by us. Regulator and Solenoid is a equipment to control hydrogen pressure supplied into a stack. Therefore, outlet pressure, a flow of fluid and temperature are important parameters according to a inlet pressure. And leak test, endurance test and burst test should be done to guarantee the performance and safety of Regulator and Solenoid used in the fuel of high pressure. Also, Hydrogen friendly materials are applied to inner parts of the Regulator, Solenoid and weight reduction is done to cost saving in part not related to performance. As a result, we have proven the good performance and reliability in endurance of Regulator, Solenoid and will make an development in performance as well as durability to ensure industrialization.

Many car manufacturers have frequently adopted an aggressive inflator and a lower threshold speed for airbag deployment in order to meet an injury requirement for unbolted occupant at high speed crash test. Consequently, today's occupant safety restraint system has a weakness due to an airbag induced injury at low speed crash event. This paper proposes a new crash algorithm to improve the weakness by suppressing airbag deployment at low speed crash event in case of belted condition. The proposed algorithm consists of two major blocks-crash severity algorithm and deployment logic block. The first block decides crash severity with two levels by means of velocity and crash energy calculation from acceleration signal. The second block implemented by simple AND/OR logic combines the crash severity level and seat belt status information to generate firing commands for airbag and belt pretensioner. Furthermore, it can be extended to adopt additional sensor information from passenger presence detection sensor and safing sensor. A simulation using real crash data for a 1,800cc passenger vehicle has been conducted to verify the performance of proposed algorithm.

Personal rapid transit (PRT) is getting attention as a new form of transportation. It is energy efficient and provides the high level of passenger service. In this study, the dynamic PRT dispatching and routing problem is dealt with. Passengers request transportation service on a complex network, and an operating system monitors passenger arrivals and coordinates vehicles in real time. A new online dispatching and routing algorithm is proposed, which minimizes the total travel distance of vehicles and the waiting time of passengers. The algorithm dispatches vehicles by considering multiple vehicles' state and multiple passengers at the same time. In particular, finding the shortest-time path is attempted by taking into account the future congestion on lanes. Discrete-event simulation is employed to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The results show the algorithm in this study outperforms others.

An increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) in power system affects its reliability in various aspects. Especially under high EV penetration level, new generating units are required to satisfy system's adequacy criterion. Wind power generation is expected to take the major portion of the new units due to environmental and economic issues. In this paper, the system reliability is analyzed using Loss of Load Expectation (LOLE) and Expected Energy Not Served (EENS) under each and both cases of increasing wind power generation and EVs. A probabilistic multi-state modeling method of wind turbine generator under various power output for adequate reliability evaluation is presented as well. EVs are modeled as loads under charging algorithm with Time-Of-Use (TOU) rates in order to incorporate EVs into hour-to-hour yearly load curve. With the expected load curve, the impact of EVs on the system adequacy is analyzed. Simulations show the reliability evaluation of increasing wind power capacity and number of EVs. With this method, system operator becomes capable of measuring appropriate wind power capacity to meet system reliability standard.

As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been studied on the exhaust and greenhouse gas emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward two main issues : exhaust emissions (regulated and non-regulated emissions, PM particle matter) and greenhouse gases of vehicle. Exhaust emissions and greenhouse gases of automotive had many problem such as the cause of ambient pollution, health effects. In order to reduce these emissions, many countries are regulating new exhaust gas test modes. Worldwide harmonized light-duty vehicle test procedure (WLTP) for emission certification has been developed in WP.29 forum in UNECE since 2007. This test procedure was applied to domestic light duty diesel vehicles at the same time as Europe. The air pollutant emissions from light-duty vehicles are regulated by the weight per distance, which the driving cycles can affect the results. Exhaust emissions of vehicle varies substantially based on climate conditions, and driving habits. Extreme outside temperatures tend to increasing the emissions, because more fuel must be used to heat or cool the cabin. Also, high driving speeds increases the emissions because of the energy required to overcome increased drag. Compared with gradual vehicle acceleration, rapid vehicle acceleration increases the emissions. Additional devices (air-conditioner and heater) and road inclines also increases the emissions. In this study, three light-duty vehicles were tested with WLTP, NEDC, and FTP-75, which are used to regulate the emissions of light-duty vehicles, and how much emissions can be affected by different driving cycles. The emissions gas have not shown statistically meaningful difference. The maximum emission gas have been found in low speed phase of WLTP which is mainly caused by cooled engine conditions. The amount of emission gas in cooled engine condition is much different as test vehicles. It means different technical solution requires in this aspect to cope with WLTP driving cycle.

At the fuel processing system (FPS) of fuel cell vehicle, hydrogen recirculation blower (HRB) is used for the recirculation of remained hydrogen after reaction. In this paper, noise and vibration improvement of HRB is studied by changing design and control. It is checked the campbell diagram and critical speed for stability of rotor, and housing stiffness is improved using simulation of frequency response function (FRF). A method is suggested that can decrease the unbalance amount of the rotor and impeller which main source of noise and vibration. In order to reduce the noise during deceleration of blower, electrical braking is applied and tested the risk impact of durability. Founded the optimum switching frequency of the motor control, and reduced the idle rpm by increasing of aerodynamic performance. The superiority of paper is proved by measurement of the improved product's noise and vibration.
The hydrogen fuel tanks having hydrogen storing capacity of about 300g and 1200g are manufactured using $MmNi_{4.7}Al_{0.25}V_{0.05}Fe_{0.001}$ alloy. They are composed of several unit reactor made of Cu-tube(outer diameter = 50.1mm, thickness = 2mm). In order to increase the heat and mass transfer property of the hydride bed, Al-plates are inserted perpendicular to axial direction at intervals of 5mm and three arteries of diameter 8mm are installed symmetrically in each unit reactor. Hydrogen absorption is proceeded about 80% within 30 minute and is completed within 60 minute at the conditions of charging hydrogen pressure of 25atm and temperature of $22^{\circ}C$. On desorbing hydrogen at a constant rate of 30 slm at $20^{\circ}C$, discharging hydrogen pressure is sustained at 3~5atm for 120 minutes. The discharging pressure is increased upto 5~8atm as the increase of the reactor temperature to $30^{\circ}C$. From the experimental results and the brief discussions about the hydrogen absorption and disorption behaviors of the hydrogen storage tank, it is suggested that the behaviors of hydrogen charging and discharging could be controlled by adjusting the operating parameters and the reactor design parameters.
The improvement of cold start capability is one of the most challenging tasks to be solved for commercialization of fuel cell vehicle. In this study, cold start test and ice blocking test(IBT) of fuel cell stack were carried out under various operating conditions. This fuel cell stack can be thawed from -20$^{\circ}$C within 25s and the voltage change was found to be comprised of 4 steps; the first step is the voltage decrease by overpotential, the second step is the voltage increase by the cell temperature increase, the third step is the voltage decrease by ice blocking, and the last step is the voltage increase by thawing. Bootstrap startup was failed after shutdown at temperature under 40$^{\circ}$C because of much condensed water in the fuel cell. Quantitative estimation of cold start capability have been demonstrated by ice blocking test(IBT). In the results, it was found that cold start capability was improved double every 10$^{\circ}$C from 30$^{\circ}$C to 65$^{\circ}$C and enhanced by 30% at the condition of SR 3/4 compared to SR 1.5/2.0 and enhanced by 20% with dry purge condition compared to with RH 50% purge condition.
The contribution levels of emissions from the heavy-duty vehicles have been continuously increased. Among the exhaust emissions, NOx (nitric oxides) have a ratio of 73.2% and particle matters have a proportion of 61.8% in the heavy-duty vehicles. Also, natural gas vehicles have the 78.9% of total registered local buses in Korea. Therefore, the investigation on emission characteristics of heavy-duty vehicles using CNG and diesel fuel according to the various driving cycles was carried out in this study. In order to analyze the emission characteristics, the five kinds of buses by using CNG and diesel fuels with a after-treatment devices (DPF, p-DPF) was used and five test driving schedules were applied for analysis of emission characteristics in a chassis dynamometer. To analyze the exhaust emission, the exhaust emission and PM analyzers were used. From this study, it is revealed that diesel buses with after-treatment had reduced emission of CO, HC, PM but NOx. Also, NMHC emission of CNG bus have a higher level and NOx level was similar with diesel buses. In addition, emissions in NIER06 with slow average speed shows lowest levels compared to other test modes.
