뉴로-퍼지 모델을 이용한 단기 전력 수요 예측시스템 (Short-Term Electrical Load Forecasting using Neuro-Fuzzy Models)

  • This paper proposes a systematic method to develop short-term electrical load forecasting systems using neuro-fuzzy models. The primary goal of the proposed method is to improve the performance of the prediction model in terms of accuracy and reliability. For this, the proposed method explores the advantages of the structure learning of the neuro-fuzzy model. The proposed load forecasting system first builds an initial structure off-line for each hour of four day types and then stores the resultant initial structures in the initial structure bank. Whenever a prediction needs to be made, the proposed system initializes the neuro-fuzzy model with the appropriate initial structure stored and trains the initialized model. In order to demonstrate the viability of the proposed method, we develop an one hour ahead load forecasting system by using the real load data collected during 1993 and 1994 at KEPCO. Simulation results reveal that the prediction system developed in this paper can achieve a remarkable improvement on both accuracy and reliability compared with the prediction systems based on multilayer perceptrons, radial basis function networks, and neuro-fuzzy models without the structure learning.

안면경련 환자에서의 안면 신경차단 -27예의 환자분석- (Facial Nerve Block for the Treatment of Facial Spasm -A retrospective analysis of 27 patients-)

  • Twenty seven patients with hemifacial spasm were treated by facial nerve block at the foramen stylomastoideum and O'Brien block from January 1992 to March 1994. There were 16 female and ll male patients, a 1.5:1 ratio respectively. Most patients were 40~60 years old. Among the 27 patients treated by nerve blocks, 26 responded well to the facial nerve block, including two cases of O'Brien block. One patient failed to respond to the facial nerve block. Induced facial palsy disappeared within one or two months within the majority of patients. Among the 26 patients who received nerve block, 6 patients required a second block within 3 to 9 months. After successful nerve block, all patients were free of spasm for 1 to 16 months. Although the follow-up period was short in duration, these results suggest that facial nerve block is a satisfactory and reliable method in the treatment of facial spasm.

  • Preliminary studies have claimed that short term fasting would negatively affect school performance and cognition. In contrast some other studies have reported not important decline in cognition and executive function as a result of fasting. Also limited attention was generally devoted to dietetic regimens, nutritional status and body weight. Yet neuroscience and neuro-cognitive aspects of acute hunger on the electroencephalogram and differences between obese and non-obese cases is not well understood. Hence, we decided to design and perform a case study in a more controlled situation similar to reality. Therefore, we performed several examinations including subjective tests (for eating status) and objective tests (cognitive tests such as Stroop effect and Sternberg search and electroencephalogram measures such as steady-state visual evoked potential and auditory steady-state responses) for an obese and a non-obese academic case before and after a simple breakfast. The results showed that the breakfast effects on the neuro-cognitive functions depend on either obesity status, nutritional status of the case or the type of cognitive task (visual or auditory). This paper would open a new insight to answer some important questions about the neuro-cognitive implications of fasting and feeding in obese and non-obese human cases.

  • In this paper, it is presented a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using digital Signal Processors. Digital signal processors DSPs. are micro-processors that are particularly developed for variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a biable computatinal tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Unlike the well-established theory for the adaptive control of linear systems, there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Adaptive control technique is essential for providing a stable and robust performance for application of robot control. The proposed neuro control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method. The proposed adaptive-neuro control scheme is illustrated to be a efficient control scheme for implementation of real-time control of robot system by the simulation and experiment.

유발전위를 이용한 뇌의 시감각 및 체성감각 인지영역 추정기술 (Estimating Neuro-Pathway from Visual and Somatosensory Evoked Potential)

  • 시각 및 손가락의 전기자극에 의해 머리표면에서 발생하는 유발전위를 검출하여 Source Tracing Method를 이용하여 뇌의 시각인지영역 및 손가락 감각인지영역을 추정하였다. 본 과정에서 유발전위 검출방식은 average method를 이용하였고, 흥분뉴런군에 대한 물리적 모델로 Single Current Dipole Model을 이용하고, 머리기하에 대한 3중구각모델을 이용하여 Forward Problem을 풀었다. Inverse Problem은 current dipole의 6개의 parameter에 대한 Least Square Error Method를 이용하여 신견흥분의 위치를 추정하였다. 이러한 결과와 생리학적으로 밝혀진 시각 및 체성감각 신경로와의 비교결과 유사성이 확인되었다.

  • Recent trend changes a criterion for evaluation of humors that environmental problems are raised as a global issue. Burners with higher thermal efficiency and lower oxygen in the exhaust gas, evaluated better. To comply with environmental regulations, burners must satisfy the NO/sub x/ and CO regulation. Consequently, 'good burner'means one whose thermal efficiency is high under the constraint of NO/sub x/ and CO consistency. To make existing burner satisfy recent criterion, it is highly recommended to develop a feedback control scheme whose output is the consistency of NO/sub x/ and CO. This paper describes the development of a real time flame diagnosis technique that evaluate and diagnose the combustion states, such as consistency of components in exhaust gas, stability of flame in the quantitative sense. In this paper, it was proposed on the flame diagnosis technique of burner using Neuro-Fuzzy algorithm. This study focuses on the relation of the color of the flame and the state of combustion. Neuro-Fuzzy loaming algorithm is used in obtaining the fuzzy membership function and rules. Using the constructed inference algorithm, the amount of NO/sub x/ and CO of the combustion gas was successfully inferred.

뉴로-퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 점용접재의 강도추론 기술 (The Quality Assurance Technique of Resistance Spot Welding Pieces using Neuro-Fuzzy Algorithm)

  • The resistance Spot Welding is widely used in the field of assembling the plates. However we don't still have any satisfactory solution, which is non-destructive quality evaluation in real-time or on-line, against it. Moreover, even though the rate of welding under the condition of expulsion has been high until now, quality control of welding against expulsion hasn't still been established. In this paper, it was proposed on the quality assurance technique of resistance spot welding pieces using Neuro-Fuzzy algorithm. Four parameters from electrode separation signal in the case of non-expulsion, and dynamic resistance patterns in the case of expulsion are selected as fuzzy input parameters. The parameters consist of Fuzzy Inference System are determined through Neuro-Learning algorithm. And then, fuzzy Inference System is constructed. It was confirmed that the fuzzy inference values of strength have within ${\pm}$4% error specimen in comparison with real strength for the total strength range, and the specimen percent having within ${\pm}$1% error was 88.8%. According to KS(Korean Industrial Standard), tensile-shear strength limit for electric coated of zinc is 400kgf/mm2. Judging to the quality of welding is good or bad, according to this criterion and the results of inference, the probability of misjudgement that good quality is valuated into poor one was 0.43%, on contrary it was 2.59%. Finally, the proposed Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System can infer the tensile-shear strength of resistance spot welding pieces with high performance for all cases-non-expulsion and expulsion. And On-Line Welding Quality Inspection System will be realized sooner or later.

  • Optimal neuro-control algorithm is extended to the control of a multi-degree-of-freedom structure. An active mass driver(AMD) system on the top roof is used as an exciter. The control signals are made by a multi-layer perceptron(MLP) which is trained by minimizing a sub-optimal performance index. The performance index is a function of both the output responses and the control signals. Structure having nonlinear hysteretic behavior is also trained and controlled by using proposed control algorithm. In training neuro-controller, emulator neural network is not used. Instead, sensitivity-test data are used. Therefore, only one neural network is used for the control system. Both the time delay effect and the dynamics of hydraulic actuator are included in the simulation. Example shows that optimal neuro-control algorithm can be applicable to the multi-degree of freedom structures.

  • In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. The concept of relative gain matrix is used to obtain the input-output pairs. However, among the input/output variables which are not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by tile introduction of a simple compensator. This compensator adjusts the degree of coupling between variables using a neural network. In this proposed neuro-fuzzy controller, the Neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm, adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables.

  • The Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) with a click stimulation in guinea pigs was used to examine the auditory neuro-pathway from the cochlear nucleus to brain. Using multi-channel active electrodes, the 3-dimensional auditory pathway was examined from the cochlea to the inferior colliculus through the brainstem. These results are similar to the well-known neuro-pathway. This study on the multi-channel ABR shows that the positions of the ABR generators move to the central brain and the contralateral pathway. It is generally agreed that the ABR is generated by some structures along the auditory pathway. This study provides some information on the neuro-pathway where the ABR peak is generated.
