The Statistical regression model has been used to construct crash prediction models, despite its limitations in assuming data distribution and functional form. In response to the limitations associated with the statistical regression models, a few studies based on non-parametric methods such as neural networks have been proposed to develop crash prediction models. However, these models have a major limitation in that they work as black boxes, and therefore cannot be directly used to identify the relationships between crash frequency and crash factors. A genetic programming model can find a solution to a problem without any specified assumptions and remove the black box effect. Hence, this paper investigates the application of the genetic programming technique to develope the crash prediction model. The data collected from the Gyeongbu expressway during the past three years (2010-2012), were separated into straight and curve sections. The random forest technique was applied to select the important variables that affect crash occurrence. The genetic programming model was developed based on the variables that were selected by the random forest. To test the goodness of fit of the genetic programming model, the RMSE of each model was compared to that of the negative binomial regression model. The test results indicate that the goodness of fit of the genetic programming models is superior to that of the negative binomial models.

In this paper, we investigates the long-term memory and the Correct answer rate of the foreign exchange data (Yen/Dollar) that is one of economic time series, There are many cases where two kinds of fractal dimensions exist in time series generated from dynamical systems such as AR models that are typical models having a short terrr memory, The sample interval separating from these two dimensions are denoted by kcrossover. Let the fractal dimension be $D_1$ in K < $k^{crossover}$,and $D_2$ in K > $k^{crossover}$ from the statistics mode. In usual, Statistic models have dimensions D1 and D2 such that $D_1$ < $D_2$ and $D_2\cong2$ But it showed a result contrary to this in the real time series such as NIKKEL The exchange data that is one of real time series have relation of $D_1$ > $D_2$ When the interval between data increases, the correlation between data increases, which is quite a peculiar phenomenon, We predict exchange data by neural networks, We confirm that $\beta$ obrained from prediction errors and D calculated from time series data precisely satisfy the relationship $\beta$ = 2-2D which is provided from a non-linear model having fractal dimension, And We identified that the difference of fractal dimension appeaed in the Correct answer rate.

A previous study (Berzaghi et al., 2001) evaluated the performance of 3 calibration methods, modified partial least squares (MPLS), local PLS (LOCAL) and artificial neural networks (ANN) on the prediction of the chemical composition of forages, using a large NIR database. The study used forage samples (n=25,977) from Australia, Europe (Belgium, Germany, Italy and Sweden) and North America (Canada and U.S.A) with reference values for moisture, crude protein and neutral detergent fibre content. The spectra of the samples were collected using 10 different Foss NIR Systems instruments, only some of which had been standardized to one master instrument. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the behaviour of these different calibration methods when predicting the same samples measured on different instruments. Twenty-two sealed samples of different kind of forages were measured in duplicate on seven instruments (one master and six slaves). Three sets of near infrared spectra (1100 to 2500nm) were created. The first set consisted of the spectra in their original form (unstandardized); the second set was created using a single sample standardization (Clone1); the third was created using a multiple sample procedure (Clone6). WinISI software (Infrasoft International Inc., Port Mathilda, PA, USA) was used to perform both types of standardization, Clone1 is just a photometric offset between a “master” instrument and the “slave” instrument. Clone6 modifies both the X-axis through a wavelength adjustment and the Y-axis through a simple regression wavelength by wavelength. The Clone1 procedure used one sample spectrally close to the centre of the population. The six samples used in Clone 6 were selected to cover the range of spectral variation in the sample set. The remaining fifteen samples were used to evaluate the performances of the different models. The predicted values for dry matter, protein and neutral detergent fibre from the master Instrument were considered as “reference Y values” when computing the statistics RMSEP, SEPC, R, Bias, Slope, mean GH (global Mahalanobis distance) and mean NH (neighbourhood Mahalanobis distance) for the 6 slave instruments. From the results we conclude that i) all the calibration techniques gave satisfactory results after standardization. Without standardization the predicted data from the slaves would have required slope and bias correction to produce acceptable statistics. ii) Standardization reduced the errors for all calibration methods and parameters tested, reducing not only systematic biases but also random errors. iii) Standardization removed slope effects that were significantly different from 1.0 in most of the cases. iv) Clone1 and Clone6 gave similar results except for NDF where Clone6 gave better RMSEP values than Clone1. v) GH and NH were reduced by half even with very large data sets including unstandardized spectra.

Currently, The autonomous vehicle market is researching and developing four-level autonomous vehicles beyond the commercialization of three-level autonomous vehicles. Because unlike the level 3, the level 4 autonomous vehicle has to deal with an emergency directly, the most important aspect of a four-level autonomous vehicle is its stability. In this paper, we propose an Optimized Vehicle Routing System (OVRS) that determines the route with the lowest probability of an accident at the destination of the vehicle rather than an immediate response in an emergency. The OVRS analyzes road and surrounding vehicle information collected by The RSU communication to predict road hazards, and sets the route for the safer and faster road. The OVRS can improve the stability of the vehicle by executing the route guidance according to the road situation through the RSU on the road like the network routing method. As a result, the RPNN of the ASICM, one of the OVRS modules, was about 17% better than the CNN and 40% better than the LSTM. However, because the study was conducted in a virtual environment using a PC, the possibility of accident of the VPDM was not actually verified. Therefore, in the future, experiments with high accuracy on VPDM due to the collection of accident data and actual roads should be conducted in real vehicles and RSUs.
Many voice recognition systems use methods such as MFCC, HMM to acknowledge human voice. This recognition method is designed to analyze only a targeted sound which normally appears between a human and a device one. However, the recognition capability is limited when there is a group sound formed with diversity in wider frequency range such as dog barking and indoor sounds. The frequency of overlapped sound resides in a wide range, up to 20KHz, which is higher than a voice. This paper proposes the new recognition method which provides wider frequency range by conjugating the Wideband Sound Spectrogram and the Keras Sequential Model based on DNN. The wideband sound spectrogram is adopted to analyze and verify diverse sounds from wide frequency range as it is designed to extract features and also classify as explained. The KSM is employed for the pattern recognition using extracted features from the WSS to improve sound recognition quality. The experiment verified that the proposed WSS and KSM excellently classified the targeted sound among noisy environment; overlapped sounds such as dog barking and indoor sounds. Furthermore, the paper shows a stage by stage analyzation and comparison of the factors' influences on the recognition and its characteristics according to various levels of noise.
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to establish the method generating human brain anatomical connectivity from Korean children and evaluating the network topological properties using small-world network analysis. Materials and Methods : Using diffusion tensor images (DTI) and parcellation maps of structural MRIs acquired from twelve healthy Korean children, we generated a brain structural connectivity matrix for individual. We applied one sample t-test to the connectivity maps to derive a representative anatomical connectivity for the group. By spatially normalizing the white matter bundles of participants into a template standard space, we obtained the anatomical brain network model. Network properties including clustering coefficient, characteristic path length, and global/local efficiency were also calculated. Results : We found that the structural connectivity of Korean children group preserves the small-world properties. The anatomical connectivity map obtained in this study showed that children group had higher intra-hemispheric connectivity than inter-hemispheric connectivity. We also observed that the neural connectivity of the group is high between brain stem and motorsensory areas. Conclusion : We suggested a method to examine the anatomical brain network of Korean children group. The proposed method can be used to evaluate the efficiency of anatomical brain networks in people with disease.
Rapid development of various information technologies creates new opportunities in online and offline markets. In this changing market environment, customers have various demands on new products and services. Therefore, their power and influence on the markets grow stronger each year. Companies have paid great attention to customer relationship management. Especially, personalized product recommendation systems, which recommend products and services based on customer's private information or purchasing behaviors in stores, is an important asset to most companies. CRM is one of the important business processes where reliable information is mined from customer database. Data mining techniques such as artificial intelligence are popular tools used to extract useful information and knowledge from these customer databases. In this research, we propose a recommendation system that predicts customer's purchase intention. Then, customer's purchasing intention of specific product is predicted by using data mining techniques using receipt data set. The performance of this suggested method is compared with that of other data mining technologies.

This paper presents a bone metastasis Detection algorithm on abdominal computed tomography images for early detection using fully convolutional neural networks. The images were taken from patients with various cancers (such as lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, etc), and thus the locations of those lesions were varied. To overcome the lack of data, we augmented the data by adjusting the brightness of the images or flipping the images. Before the augmentation, when 70% of the whole data were used in the pre-test, we could obtain the pixel-wise sensitivity of 18.75%, the specificity of 99.97% on the average of test dataset. With the augmentation, we could obtain the sensitivity of 30.65%, the specificity of 99.96%. The increase in sensitivity shows that the augmentation was effective. In the result obtained by using the whole data, the sensitivity of 38.62%, the specificity of 99.94% and the accuracy of 99.81% in the pixel-wise. lesion-wise sensitivity is 88.89% while the false alarm per case is 0.5. The results of this study did not reach the level that could substitute for the clinician. However, it may be helpful for radiologists when it can be used as a screening tool.

Air ducts installed for ventilation inside buildings accumulate contaminants during their service life. Robots are installed to clean the air duct at low cost, but they are still not fully automated and depend on manpower. In this study, an intersection detection algorithm for autonomous driving was applied to an air duct cleaning robot. Autonomous driving of the robot was achieved by calculating the distance and angle between the extracted point and the center point through the intersection detection algorithm from the camera image mounted on the robot. The training data consisted of CAD images of the duct interior as well as the cross-point coordinates and angles between the two boundary lines. The deep learning-based CNN model was applied as a detection algorithm. For training, the cross-point coordinates were obtained from CAD images. The accuracy was determined based on the differences in the actual and predicted areas and distances. A cleaning robot prototype was designed, consisting of a frame, a Raspberry Pi computer, a control unit and a drive unit. The algorithm was validated by video imagery of the robot in operation. The algorithm can be applied to vehicles operating in similar environments.

In this paper, the Multi-FNN(Fuzzy-Neural Networks) model is identified and optimized using HCM(Hard C-Means) clustering method and genetic algorithms. The proposed Multi-FNN is based on Yamakawa's FNN and uses simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and error back propagation algorithm as learning rules. We use a HCM clustering and Genetic Algorithms(GAs) to identify both the structure and the parameters of a Multi-FNN model. Here, HCM clustering method, which is carried out for the process data preprocessing of system modeling, is utilized to determine the structure of Multi-FNN according to the divisions of input-output space using I/O process data. Also, the parameters of Multi-FNN model such as apexes of membership function, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. A aggregate performance index with a weighting factor is used to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. The aggregate performance index stands for an aggregate objective function with a weighting factor to consider a mutual balance and dependency between approximation and predictive abilities. According to the selection and adjustment of a weighting factor of this aggregate abjective function which depends on the number of data and a certain degree of nonlinearity, we show that it is available and effective to design an optimal Multi-FNN model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace and the numerical data of nonlinear function.
