  • Tilting technology is to tilt the train on the curve in order to minimize centrifugal force to passengers and to improve the speed within the limits of passenger's comfort and safety. According to reports from other countries, there is 15~30% speed improvement compared to the conventional trains. Recently, the advent of World-Wide-Web(WWW) and the explosive popularity of the Internet gave birth to collaborative applications which were enabled by computers and networks as their primary media. The progress of 3D computer graphics enabled collaborative applications with 3D virtual environments or distributed virtual environments. In this paper, we explain our implementation of the Share collaboration engine which is for collaboration applications based on a distributed virtual environment. The Share collaboration engine proposes a new Share network architecture for management of participants, and it provides some synchronization methods for 3D objects in virtual collaboration. TTX_PDM is an experimental application that tries to prevent wastes of human, material and time resources in networked virtual collaboration.

  • Rolls-Royce is a global company producing advanced power systems for use on land, at sea and in the air. In order to develop competitive products and services, Rolls-Royce invests in technology, infrastructure and capability with much of the research carried out in a global network of University Technology Centres, such as the UTC in Thermal management at Pusan National University. Heat exchangers and thermal management play a critical role in today's gas turbine engines, maintaining the fuel and oil temperatures within the correct operational range. Future products are likely to place an increased duty on the thermal management system and thus require advances in heat exchanger design, installation and manufacturing. Heat exchangers further have the potential to play a vital role in Advanced Cycle Gas Turbine products. The Intercooled and recuperated WR21 marine gas turbine engine recently entered service with the Royal Navy and is delivering very attractive fuel burn in service. The development of an advanced cycle aero-engine is a significantly greater challenge, requiring better understanding of compact and light weight heat exchanger surfaces, novel installations and ducting systems and may required novel manufacturing techniques to achieve the volume, weight and cost necessary to realise a viable advanced cycle gas turbine aero-engine.

  • In this paper, we develop a transportation planning system for the mail transportation network, which consists of 25 mail centers and one mail exchange center. The main functions of the system are adjustment of transportation plan, creation of new transportation plan, and calculation of expected exchange mail volume which are transported through mail exchange center. We develop an adjusting algorithm which gives a new transportation plan by deleting, adding or changing the current routes. The algorithm based on the transportation results of current transportation plan and mail volume data. We design and implement a planning system by installing the algorithm as the planning engine. For the practical use, the system is connected to the information system of Korea Post, PostNet.

  • Expansible & Reconfigurable Neuro Informatics Engine(ERNIE) is effective in reconfigurability and extensibility. But ERNIE have the problem which have limited performance in initial network. To solve this problem, the constructive module using the reconfigurable ERNIE is implemented in simulation model. In this paper, simulation results on sonar data are showed that ERNIE using the constructive module obtains the better performance compared to ERNIE without it.

  • This paper partially presents a Hierachical neural network architecture for providing the intelligent control of complex Automatic Transmission(AJT) system which is usually nonlinear and hard to model mathematically. It consists of the module to apply or release an engine brake at the slope and that to judge the intention of the driver. The HNN architecture simplifies the structure of the overall system and is efficient for the learning time. This paper describes how the sub-neural networks of each module have been constructed and will compare the result of the intelligent hJT control to that of the conventional shift pattern.

  • In recent dates, Internet advertising effects are expanded by the steep increment of the Internet users and the extension of the advertising market will be accelerated through Internet. This paper indicates the importance of Internet advertising and suggests the solution of a network advertising service. The system Is divided into an Advertise Server, an Advertiser and a Web Publisher. This study proposes both the collection and the analysis of traffic data in real time. Also, the banner advertising frames are smoothed for the impression using the solution for the banner exchange engine and are developed using various impression methods, that is, Fixed/variable Banner, Scheduling Banner, Multi-Impression Banner, and Frame Remote Control to increase the advertising effect. And then to increase the advertising effect web publisher, which is specialized in lottery site, is constructed using the network advertising service and various advertising technology.

  • We have already presented the constraint satisfaction algorithm which could solve the losed loop problem in constraint network by using local constraint propagation, variable elimination and constraint modularization. With this algorithm, we have implemented a knowledge-based system (intelligent CAD) for supporting machine design interactively. In this paper, we present newer constraint satisfaction algorithm which can solve inequalities or under-constrained problems in constraint network, interactively and efficiently. This algorithm is a hybrid type of using both declarative description (constraint represention) and optimization algorithm (Simulated Annealing), simultaneously. The under-constrained problems are represented by constraint networks and satisfied completely with this algorithm. The usefulness of our algorithm will be illustrated by the application to a gear design.

  • 오늘날의 선박은 디지털 선박(Digital-ship)으로 변화하고 있으며, 일부 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitos) 기술을 기반으로 e-Navigation 및 VTS(Vessel Traffic Service) 등 안전 항해 및 편의를 제공하고 있다. 하지만, 아직까지 선박에 대한 안전시스템이 미비하고, 선박의 주요 설비를 실시간으로 관리하기 위한 안전 관리 시스템의 개발이 매우 필요한 시기라 할 수 있다. 지금까지 선박 연구에 있어서 안전을 극대화시키기 위한 노력은 많았으나 선박의 재질(철판) 및 밀폐환경에 의해 무선 통신(Wireless Communication)을 이용한 시스템 개발은 많이 이루어지고 있지 않은 상태이다. 본 논문은 선박 내의 전파 특성을 분석하여 무선 통신을 하기 위한 최적의 조건을 찾고, 유비쿼터스 기술을 적용한 지그비 네트워크 구성으로 선박 내 엔진관리를 위한 무선 센서 네트워크(Wireless Sensor Network)의 적용 가능성을 검증하였다.

Pet Robot Simulator Coordinated over Network (네트워크를 통해 동작하는 애완 로봇 시뮬레이터)

  • A graphic simulator can be a useful tool for planning gaits or dynamic behaviors to a walking pet robot. Microsoft describes robotics developer studio (MSRDS) as an end-to-end robotics development platform including simulation engine based on dynamics. In this paper, we propose a pet robot simulator (PRS), based on MSRDS, which supports interactively controlled two walking robots connected over network. To be pet robot simulator, modeling a commercial pet robot is performed and gait planning is also implemented. By using concurrency and coordination runtime (CCR) and decentralized software services (DSS) of MSRDS software platform, we connect two robots which are displayed together but controlled separately over network. The two walking pet robots can be simulated interactively by joysticks. It seems to be an internet game for pet robots.

  • 카카오톡, 페이스북 등의 소셜 네트워크 서비스(Social Network Service: SNS)가 발전함에 따라 이를 기반으로 하는 소셜 네트워크 게임(Social Network Game: SNG)이 지인과 함께 가볍게 즐길 수 있다는 장점을 내세워 유저들로부터 많은 호응을 얻고 있다. 특히 SNG가 갖는 장점은 언제 어디서나 즐길 수 있는 스마트폰 앱에 접목되면서 그 효과가 극대화되고 있다. 이에 많은 개발사들이 앞다투어 SNG 개발에 참여를 하고 있는 상황이지만 다양한 SNS 서비스 플랫폼에 비해 SNG 개발을 위한 공개 엔진은 없는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 SNS 플랫폼을 통해 공통으로 사용할 수 있는 통합 관리 소셜 네트워크 엔진을 개발하는 과정과 구현된 엔진을 사용하여 디바이스를 통한 그래픽 출력 성능을 실험하였으며, 실험 결과 기존의 SNG와의 속도차이가 없음을 보여 주어 게임 구현하기에 충분함을 입증하였다.
