  • A neural model predictive control strategy combining a neural network for plant identification and a nonlinear programming algorithm for solving nonlinear control problems is proposed. A constrained nonlinear optimization approach using successive quadratic programming combined with neural identification network is used to generate the optimum control law for complex continuous chemical reactor systems that have inherent nonlinear dynamics. The neural model predictive controller (MNPC) shows good performances and robustness. To whom all correspondence should be addressed.

  • This paper handles synthesis and investigation of a neural network guidance law based on pursuit-evasion games. This work considers two-dimensional pursuit-evasion games solved by using the gradient method. The procedure of developing a guidance law from the game-optimal solutions is deeply examined, and important features of the neural network guidance are investigated. The proposed neural network guidance law takes the range, range rate, line-of-sight rate, and heading error as its input variables. By reconstructing the trajectory, the accuracy of the neural network approximation is verified.   • This paper considers the transient stability problem of power system. The power system model is given as interconnected system consisting of many machines which are described by swing equations. We design a transient stability controller using passivity and neural network. The structure of the neural network controller is derived using a filtered error/passivity approach. In general, a neural network cannot be guaranteed to be passive, but the weight tuning algorithm given here do guarantee desirable passivity properties of the neural network and hence of the closed-loop error system. Moreover proposed controller shows good robustness by simulation for uncertainties in parameters, which can not be shown in the speed gradient method proposed by Fradkov[3,7].

  • In the last few years, detection has become a powerful methodology for network protection and security. This paper presents a new detection scheme for data recorded over a computer network. This approach is applicable to the broad scientific field of information security, including intrusion detection and prevention. The proposed method employs bidimensional (time-frequency) data representations of the forms of the short-time Fourier transform, as well as the Wigner distribution. Moreover, the method applies matrix factorization using singular value decomposition and principal component analysis of the two-dimensional data representation matrices to detect intrusions. The current scheme was evaluated using numerous tests on network activities, which were recorded and presented in the KDD-NSL and UNSW-NB15 datasets. The efficiency and robustness of the technique have been experimentally proved.

Robust Hierarchical Data Fusion Scheme for Large-Scale Sensor Network

  • The advanced driver assistant system (ADAS) requires the collection of a large amount of information including road conditions, environment, vehicle status, condition of the driver, and other useful data. In this regard, large-scale sensor networks can be an appropriate solution since they have been designed for this purpose. Recent advances in sensor network technology have enabled the management and monitoring of large-scale tasks such as the monitoring of road surface temperature on a highway. In this paper, we consider the estimation and fusion problems of the large-scale sensor networks used in the ADAS. Hierarchical fusion architecture is proposed for an arbitrary topology of the large-scale sensor network. A robust cluster estimator is proposed to achieve robustness of the network against outliers or failure of sensors. Lastly, a robust hierarchical data fusion scheme is proposed for the communication channel between the clusters and fusion center, considering the non-Gaussian channel noise, which is typical in communication systems.

  • A very simple control approach using neural network for the robust position control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) is presented The linear quadratic controller plus feedforward neural network is employed to obtain the robust PMSM system approximately linearized using field-orientation method for an AC servo. The neural network is trained in on-line phases and this neural network is composed by a fedforward recall and error back-propagation training. Since the total number of nodes are only eight this system can be easily realized by the general microprocessor. During the normal operation the input-output response is sampled and the weighting value is trained multi-times by error back-propagation method at each sample period to accommodate the possible variations in the parameters or load torque. And the state space analysis is performed to obtain the state feedback gains systematically. IN addition the robustness is also obtained without affecting overall system response. This method is realized by a floating-point Digital Singal Processor DS1102 Board (TMS320C31) The basic DSP software is used to write C program which is compiled by using ANSI-C style function prototypes.

Dual Coalescent Energy-Efficient Algorithm for Wireless Mesh Networks

  • In this paper, we consider a group mobility model to formulate a clustering mechanism called Dual Coalescent Energy-Efficient Algorithm (DCEE) which is scalable, distributed and energy-efficient for wireless mesh network. The differences of the network nodes will be distinguished to exploit heterogeneity of the network. Furthermore, a topology control, that is, adjusting the transmission range to further reduce power consumption will be integrated with the cluster formation to improve network lifetime and connectivity. Along with network lifetime and power consumption, clusterhead changes will be measured as a performance metric to evaluate the. effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm.

  • This paper draws performance results through comparing WMNs' methods when the WMNs are used in tunnel construction sites. There are many advantages of WMNs : lower cost, easy to network maintenance, robustness and reliability within RF-ranges. As a result, using the WMNs would be suitable to employ as a network infrastructure for the construction sites. This paper evaluates the performance of WMNs which we have installed in a tunnel construction. Through the performance results, we conclude the performance of data throughputs gets lower when we perform the network in tunnel environments. We make attempts WMNs' two major methods which are SISC(Single Interface with Single Channel) and MIMC(Multi Interface with Multi Channel) to figure out which method will be better for the construction sites. Through the experiments, the WMN based on the MIMC method was comparatively suitable in network performance aspect for the tunnel Sites.

  • This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy-neural network(FNN) controller for high performance of induction motor drive. The design of this algorithm based on FNN controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy rule as training patterns of a neural network. Also, this controller uses the back-propagation method to adjust the weights between the neurons of neural network in order to minimize the error between the command output and actual output. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control Performance of the adaptive FNN controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. The results of analysis prove that the proposed control system has strong high performance and robustness to parameter variation. and steady- state accuracy and transient response.

The design of this algorithm based on fuzzy-neural network(FNN) controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy rule as training patterns of a neural network.
