  • In this paper, a video analysis is proposed to implement video surveillance system with deep learning object detection and probabilistic data association filter for tracking multiple objects, and suggests its implementation using GPU. The proposed video analysis technique involves object detection and object tracking sequentially. The deep learning network architecture uses ResNet for object detection and applies probabilistic data association filter for multiple objects tracking. The proposed video analysis technique can be used to detect intruders illegally trespassing any restricted area or to count the number of people entering a specified area. As a results of simulations and experiments, 48 channels of videos can be analyzed at a speed of about 27 fps and real-time video analysis is possible through RTSP protocol.

  • Social networking services that connect a person to other people are attracting people's attention and various types of services are provided on the Internet. Library has been playing a role of social media by providing us with materials such as books and magazines, and with a place for reading, studying, getting lectures, etc. In this paper, we present a method for finding candidates of groups of the library's patrons who share interest areas by utilizing the loan records, which are obtainable in every library. Such a homogeneous group can become a candidate for a study group, a community for exchange ideas, and other activity group. We apply the method to a collection of loan records of a university library, find some problems to be solved, and propose measures for more detailed solutions. Even though the potential group finding problem still remains a lot of issues to be solved, its potential importance is very high and thus to be studies even more for future applications.

  • In this letter, a simple method for reducing the size of a dual-band planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is described. This method is based on a coupling capacitor connected in parallel to the PIFA feed conductor. The proposed antenna occupies a small ground clearance of $10mm{\times}5mm$ and is able to provide -10-dB impedance bandwidths of 120 MHz and 760 MHz for 2.45-GHz and 5.5-GHz wireless local area network applications, respectively. The measured antenna efficiencies are 71.8% and 73.6%, averaged over the 2.45-GHz and 5.5-GHz frequency bands, respectively.

  • The data generated by the BSN sensor attached to the human body is mostly mobile. Accordingly, in a mobile cloud environment that processes BSN data, the service should not be fixed in a specific area but be able to support it according to the move. The mobile device must be able to process, filter and transmit the collected BSN data. The cloud server must be able to collect the data processed by the mobile device and provide it as a service. And the transfer of data requires standardized transfer between each device. In this paper, we propose a data delivery method through standard schema when mobile device processes data and provides service in cloud system and a data processing method according to the movement of the mobile device.

  • Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are becoming increasingly important to solve the issue of health care. IEEE 802.15.6 is a wireless communication standard for WBANs, aiming to provide a real-time and continuous monitoring. In this paper, we present our development of a modified Markov Chain model and a backoff model, in which most features such as user priorities, contention windows, modulation and coding schemes (MCSs), and frozen states are taken into account. Then we calculate the normalized throughput and average access delay of IEEE 802.15.6 networks under saturation and ideal channel conditions. We make an evaluation of network performances by comparing with IEEE 802.15.4 and the results validate that IEEE 802.15.6 networks can provide high quality of service (QoS) for nodes with high priorities.

  • Neuromorphic hardware refers to brain-inspired computers or components that model an artificial neural network comprising densely connected parallel neurons and synapses. The major element in the widespread deployment of neural networks in embedded devices are efficient architecture for neuromorphic hardware with regard to performance, power consumption, and chip area. Spiking neural networks (SiNNs) are brain-inspired in which the communication among neurons is modeled in the form of spikes. Owing to brainlike operating modes, SNNs can be power efficient. However, issues still exist with research and actual application of SNNs. In this issue, we focus on the technology development cases and market trends of two typical tracks, which are listed above, from the point of view of artificial intelligence neuromorphic circuits and subsequently describe their future development prospects.

  • The mobile telecommunication sector is increasingly gathering way becoming a key area for the economic development in Uzbekistan. One way to promote competition among providers is the introduction of a number portability service. This paper estimates subscriber's willingness to pay (WTP) for the MNP service in the mobile communication market in Uzbekistan. Consumer valuation was estimated using a conjoint analysis. Since number portability had not been introduced at the time of the study, stated preference data from the conjoint survey was used. Results indicate that currently subscribers do not attach a lot of importance to the MNP service, while price and service quality are most valuable components. The results of this study provide important implication for mobile network operators and policy developers on potential MNP implementation.

  • This research focus on the economic activity as consumer and producer traits of future customers in the convergence age. We assess level of convergence for digital devices and services respectively by questionnaire survey and interview for 14 professions. And then, for evaluating convergence level and usage of digital services of each respondents, we conducted the questionnaire survey for 343 samples. Findings of our research hold that the group who showed higher level of convergence tends to use the socialized digital services more. Convergence generation were heavy users in appstore on smart-phone and wireless game and more participating. In digital service area, facebook/cyworld, twitter, UCC, portal, internet community in digital service. Convergence generation are global network communication, buying decision making activity, actively opinion expression, prosumer attitude, dependency on digital device, experience based purchase behavior, enthusiastic information sharing.
