The Gene Set network viewer (GSnet) visualizes the functional enrichment of a given gene set with a protein interaction network and is implemented as a plug-in for the Cytoscape platform. The functional enrichment of a given gene set is calculated using a hypergeometric test based on the Gene Ontology annotation. The protein interaction network is estimated using public data. Set operations allow a complex protein interaction network to be decomposed into a functionally-enriched module of interest. GSnet provides a new framework for gene set analysis by integrating a priori knowledge of a biological network with functional enrichment analysis.

Owing to their low scalability, weak support on big data, insufficient data collaborative analysis and inadequate situational awareness, the traditional methods fail to meet the needs of the security data analysis. This paper proposes visualization methods to fuse the multi-source security data and grasp the network situation. Firstly, data sources are classified at their collection positions, with the objects of security data taken from three different layers. Secondly, the Heatmap is adopted to show host status; the Treemap is used to visualize Netflow logs; and the radial Node-link diagram is employed to express IPS logs. Finally, the Labeled Treemap is invented to make a fusion at data-level and the Time-series features are extracted to fuse data at feature-level. The comparative analyses with the prize-winning works prove this method enjoying substantial advantages for network analysts to facilitate data feature fusion, better understand network security situation with a unified, convenient and accurate mode.

Generally, we want to be searched the newest as well as some appropriate personalized information from the internet resources. However, it is a complex and repeated procedure to search some appropriate information. Moreover, because the user's interests are changed as time goes, the real time modeling of a user's interests should be necessary. In this paper, I propose PREA system that can search and filter documents that users are interested from the World Wide Web. And then it constructs the user's interest model by a modified spreading neural network. Based on this network, PREA can easily produce some queries to search web documents, and it ranks them. The conventional spreading neural network does not have a visualization function, so that the users could not know how to be configured his or her interest model by the network. To solve this problem, PREA gives a visualization function being shown how to be made his interest user model to many users.

Most of the previous works of visualization focus on representing user's relationship on social network by a complex multi dimension graph. However, this method is difficult to identify the important of relationship to focus on personal user intuitively. Besides, the content of written information by user to reflect the interrelation between users is insufficient, since most of visualization methods represent the user relationship using an amount of message and the reference of user's message. In order to resolve above problem, this paper proposes a new visualization method using the user's correlation and user relationship of network node.
In recent years, numerous studies have been attempted to exploit ontology in the area of ubiquitous computing. Especially, some kinds of ontologies written in OWL are proposed for major issues in ubiquitous computing such like context-awareness. OWL is recommended by W3C as a descriptive language for representing ontology with rich vocabularies. However, developers struggle to design ontology using OWL, because of the complex syntax of OWL. The research for OWL visualization aims to overcome this problem, but most of the existing approaches unfortunately do not provide efficient interface to visualize OWL ontology. Moreover, as the size of ontology grows bigger, each class and relation are difficult to represent on the editing window due to the small size limitation of screen. In this paper, we present OWL visualization scheme that supports class information in detail. This scheme is based on concept of social network, and we implement OWL visualization plug-in on $Prot{\acute{e}}g{\acute{e}}$ that is the most famous ontology editor.

Since too much information has been generated, it became very difficult to find out valuable and necessary information. In order to deal with the problem of information overload, the taxonomy for information visualization techniques has been based upon visualized shapes such as tree map, fisheye view and parallel coordinates, so that it was difficult to choose the right representation technique by data characteristics. Therefore, this study was designed to introduce a new taxonomy for the information visualization by data characteristics which defined by space (3D vs. multi-dimensions), time (continuous vs. discrete), and relations of data (qualitative vs. quantitative). To verify the new taxonomy, forensic data which were generated to investigate the culprit of network security was used. The result showed that the new taxonomy was found to be very efficient and effective to choose the right visualized shape for forensic data for network security. In conclusion, the new taxonomy was proven to be very helpful to choose the right information visualization technique by data characteristics.

Cyber powers around the world are conducting cyber information-gathering activities in cyberspace, a global domain within the Internet-based information environment. Accordingly, it is imperative to obtain the latest information through the cyber intelligence preparation of the battlefield (IPB) process to prepare for future cyber operations. Research utilizing the cyber battlefield visualization method for effective cyber IPB and situation awareness aims to minimize uncertainty in the cyber battlefield and enable command control and determination by commanders. This paper designed architecture by classifying cyberspace into a physical, logical network layer and cyber persona layer to visualize the cyber battlefield using BGP archive data, which is comprised of BGP connection information data of routers around the world. To implement the architecture, BGP archive data was analyzed and pre-processed, and cyberspace was implemented in the form of a Di-Graph. Information products that can be obtained through visualization were classified for each layer of the cyberspace, and a visualization method was proposed for performing cyber IPB. Through this, we analyzed actual North Korea's BGP and OSINT data to implement North Korea's cyber battlefield centered on the Internet network in the form of a prototype. In the future, we will implement a prototype architecture based on Elastic Stack.
In this paper, we want to solve the problems that users want to search the progress of attack, continuity of attack, association between attackers and victims, blocking priority and countermeasures by using visualization interface with multi-rotational axis and radial axis structure. It is possible to effectively monitor and track security events by arranging a time series event based on a multi-rotational axis structured by an event generation order, a subject of an event, an event type, and an emission axis, which is an objective time indicating progress of individual events. The proposed interface is a practical visualization interface that can apply attack blocking and defense measures by providing the progress and progress of the whole attack, the details and continuity of individual attacks, and the relationship between attacker and victim in one screen.
Analyzing protein-protein interactions(PPI) is an important task in bioinformatics as it can help in new drugs' discovery process. However, due to vast amount of PPI data and their complexity, efficient visualization of the data is still remained as a challenging problem. We have developed efficient and effective visualization system that integrates Gene Ontology(GO) and PPI network to provide better insights to scientists. To provide efficient data visualization, we have employed dynamic interactive graph drawing methods and context-based browsing strategy. In addition, quick and flexible cross-reference system between GO and PPI; LCA(Least Common Ancestor) finding for GO; and etc are supported as special features. In terms of interface, our visualization system provides two separate graphical windows side-by-side for GO graphs and PPI network, and also provides cross-reference functions between them.

In the paper the authors describe the development of ITIS(Intelligent Tunneling Information System) for the Purpose of applying the 3D visualization technique, GIS, AI(Artificial Intelligence) to tunnel design and construction. VR(Virtual Reality) and 3D visualization techniques are applied in order to develope the 3D model of characteristics and structures of ground and rock mass. Database for all the materials related to site investigation and tunnel construction is developed using GIS technique. AI technique such as fuzzy theory and neural network is applied to predict ground settlement, decide tunnel support method and estimate ground and rock mass properties according to tunnel excavation steps. ITIS can help to inform various necessary tunnel information to engineers quickly and manage tunnel using acquired information based on D/B.
