  • As pervious the SAR(Security Aware Routing)[10] protocol is an secure Ad Hoc network protocol that finds a secure path, it is the security routing protocol that uses the security level of nodes as the routing information. However, the SAR protocol sometimes transfers data through inefficient transmission paths because it always tries to find secure nodes for a safe transmission. Since it is a protocol based on AODV[6], it will cause transmission delay as researching of security routing path. when a node is out of the data transmission range as its battery dying or movement. Although it is possible to connection of nodes because a characteristic of the SAR protocol, the connection is not easy to reconnect when the security level of intermediate node is lower than the level requested by a source node. In this paper, we suggest the MP-SAR based on the SAR to solve the SAR protocol's problem. The MP-SAR seeks multiple secure path for maintenance of data confidentiality using the expanded secure path detection techniques based on the SAR. It can transfer data quickly and reliably by using the shortest efficient path among multiple paths. In the research result, we proved a outstanding performance of MP-SAR than the previous SAR through comparison and analysis.

  • In the fourth industrial revolution, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are an important element of collecting and analyzing data in a variety of environments without human intervention. This sensor network is greatly affected by topology and routing protocols. Routing protocols, which affect energy consumption, are executed after deploying sensor nodes. Once built, they are difficult to change. Before the WSN is deployed, a routing protocol is carefully selected in view of various environments and the performance of the protocol is evaluated. In this paper, we propose a model to simulate multiple routing protocols using a discrete event system specification (DEVS). The DEVS-based proposed model simulates various situations without changes and structures of the its model as algorithms of the routing protocols are implemented in its coordinators model. To verify normal behaviors of the proposed model, the number of report delivery and the energy consumption of the sensor network were compared using representative protocols LEACH and Dijkstra. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed model executes normally in both routing protocols.

  • This paper proposes a modified end-to-end secure low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (ME-LEACH) algorithm for enhancing the lifetime of a wireless sensor network (WSN). Energy limitations are a major constraint in WSNs, hence every activity in a WSN must efficiently utilize energy. Several protocols have been introduced to modulate the way a WSN sends and receives information. The end-to-end secure low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (E-LEACH) protocol is a hierarchical routing protocol algorithm proposed to solve high-energy dissipation problems. Other methods that explore the presence of the most powerful nodes on each cluster as cluster heads (CHs) are the sparsity-aware energy efficient clustering (SEEC) protocol and an energy efficient clustering-based routing protocol that uses an enhanced cluster formation technique accompanied by the fuzzy logic (EERRCUF) method. However, each CH in the E-LEACH method sends data directly to the base station causing high energy consumption. SEEC uses a lot of energy to identify the most powerful sensor nodes, while EERRCUF spends high amounts of energy to determine the super cluster head (SCH). In the proposed method, a CH will search for the nearest CH and use it as the next hop. The formation of CH chains serves as a path to the base station. Experiments were conducted to determine the performance of the ME-LEACH algorithm. The results show that ME-LEACH has a more stable and higher throughput than SEEC and EERRCUF and has a 35.2% better network lifetime than the E-LEACH algorithm.

  • This paper focuses on message complexity performance analysis of MANET AAPs in reference to link errors generated by the mobile wireless nodes. To obtain the message complexity performance of AAPs in reference to the link error probability ($P_e$), an enhancement was made by proposing the retransmission limit (S) to be computed for error recovery (based on the link error probability), and then for each of the AAPs the control procedures for the retransmission limit have been properly included. The O-notation has been applied in analyzing the upper bound of the number of messages generated by a MANET group of N nodes. Based on a link error probability range of $P_e=0$ to 0.8, the AAPs investigated in this paper are Strong DAD, Weak DAD with proactive routing protocol (WDP), Weak DAD with on-demand routing protocol (WDO), and MANETconf. Based on the simulation results and analysis of the message complexity, for nominal situations, the message complexity of WDP was lowest, closely followed by WDO. The message complexity of MANETconf is higher than that of WDO, and Strong DAD results to be most complex among the four AAPs.

  • TICN, a next-generation tactical communication network based on a wireless network, acts as the backbone of the whole network. TICN requires the routing which takes both survivability of passage, reliability, and safety of wireless link into consideration. A tactical network like TICN may maintain the passage for just a short period of time due to topology's frequent changes; In this process all nodes, dependent on batteries for their necessary energy, are restricted by batteries' durability in due course. To overcome this shortcoming, the up-to-date protocols consider only either of diminishing or balancing out energy consumptions. Thus there was a limitation to enhancing both throughput and energy efficiency. The thesis proposes a protocol which regards both throughput and energy efficiency, and enhances node survivability by means of minimizing and balancing energy consumption of the whole network. The protocol brings out an improvement in throughput and makes each node's energy usage more effective.

  • The development of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology is creating numerous application areas. Although a network configuration with fixed sensors was the norm in the past, the coexistence of mobile and fixed sensor nodes is a new trend. Fixed sensor networks focused on the energy efficiency of nodes, but the latest studies consider guaranteeing the mobility of nodes and maintaining their connectivity, while remaining energy efficient at the same time. This paper proposes a routing protocol for a mobile ad-hoc sensor network that improves the mobility, connectivity and energy efficiency of nodes while allowing for the management and maintenance of a large number of nodes even in a complex communication environment where mobile and fixed nodes coexist. An algorithm for multi-hop multi-paths, a technique for topology reconfiguration by node movement prediction and vibration sensors, path setting for a large number of nodes, and efficient data transfer technology have been introduced to implement the modified LEAHC-AOMDV protocol. Furthermore, the excellence of this protocol was verified through a comparative experiment with the conventional LEACH protocol.

  • The existing active routing Protocols assume that the active network topology is static or pre-configured. However a dynamic mechanism to route an active Packet according to the network condition is required due to the dynamic characteristic of the active network. As active routing protocols, SLRP and TCOM500 PLAN project have been proposed, but since both of them are based on the assumption of the static topology we can not say that they are dynamic routing protocols in their entirety. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new active network routing protocol, called AOSPF (Active Open Shortest Path First), which is compatible with the existing IP routing protocol. AOSPF is an extension of OSPF by adding a new LSA (Link State Advertisement) to allow the active network routing. The newly introduced LSA is used to specify whether the corresponding router is an active router or not. and one bit in the OPTION field of an LSA packet is used as the active router indication bit. This way of extending OSPF is similar to the scheme used in the extension of OSPF for multicast, i.e., MOSPF. In this paper, we will present the operation of AOSPF and the way how an active packet is forwarded based on the active network topology information constructed by AOSPF.

  • Since all sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks work by their own embedded batteries, if a node runs out of its battery, the sensor network can not operate normally. In this situation we should employ the routing protocols which can consume the energy of nodes efficiently. Many protocols for energy efficient routing in sensor networks have been suggested but LEACH and PEGASIS are most well known protocols. However LEACH consumes energy heavily in the head nodes and the head nodes tend to die early and PEGASIS - which is known as a better energy efficient protocol - has a long transfer time from a source node to sink node and the nodes close to the sink node expend energy sharply since it makes a long hop of data forwarding. We proposed a new hybrid protocol of LEACH and PEGASIS, which uses the clustering mechanism of LEACH and the chaining mechanism of PEGASIS and it makes the life time of sensor networks longer than other protocols and we improved the performance 33% and 18% higher than LEACH-C and PEGASIS respectively.

  • This paper describes an IEEE 802.15.4-based hierarchical sensor network model for a VAWS(Vehicle Approach Warning System) which provides the drivers of vehicles approaching a sharp turn with the information about vehicles approaching the same turn from the opposite end. In the proposed network model, a tree-structured topology, that can prolong the lifetime of network is formed in a self-organizing manner by a topology control protocol. A simple but efficient routing protocol, that creates and maintains routing tables based on the network topology organized by the topology control protocol, transports data packets generated from the sensor nodes to the base station which then forwards it to a display processor. These protocols are designed as a network layer extension to the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC. In the simulation, which models a scenario with a sharp turn, it is shown that the proposed network model achieves a high-level performance in terms of both energy efficiency and throughput simultaneously.
