  • In LTE environment, which is 4th generation mobile communication systems, there is concern about private information exposure by transmitting initial identifier in plain text. This paper suggest mutual authentication protocol, which uses one-time password utilizing challenge-response and AES-based Milenage key generation algorithm, as solution for safe initial identification communication, preventing unique identification information leaking. Milenage key generation algorithm has been used in LTE Security protocol for generating Cipher key, Integrity key, Message Authentication Code. Performance analysis evaluates the suitability of LTE Security protocol and LTE network by comparing LTE Security protocol with proposed protocol about algorithm operation count and Latency. Thus, this paper figures out initial identification communication's weak points of currently used LTE security protocol and complements in accordance with traditional protocol. So, it can be applied for traditional LTE communication on account of providing additional confidentiality to initial identifier.

  • The Future Generation Networks(FGNs) are proposed to integrate various heterogeneous access technologies, and further expected to support both vertical and seamless handovers. In this motivation, the IEEE 802.21 specifies Media Independent Handover(Mlli) services to enhance the mobile user experience by optimizing handovers between heterogeneous access networks. Additionally, Fast handover for MIPv6(FM1Pv6) is introduced to provide transparent host mobility and to improve handover performance by reducing handover delay as well. This paper focuses on the coordination of FMIPv6 and MIH, and introduces an enhanced mobility management framework suited for FGN. This novel framework replaces handover signaling messages used in wireless networks with novel MIH messages and local primitives. Moreover, Serving Access Router(SAR) performs most of handover processes instead of Mobile Node(MN). Therefore, the proposed mobility management framework reduces handover latency, packet loss, and signaling overhead significantly. We further evaluate the performance of the proposed framework by using both numerical analysis and network simulations.

  • This paper deals with grid job allocation and grid resource scheduling to provide a stable and quicker job processing service to grid users. In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy logic-based grid job scheduling model for an effective job scheduling in computational grid environment. The fuzzy logic-based grid job scheduling model measures resource efficiency of all grid resources by a fuzzy logic system based on diverse input parameters like CPU speed and network latency and divides resources into several groups by resource efficiency. And, the model allocates jobs to resources of a group with the highest resource efficiency. For performance evaluation, we implemented the fuzzy logic-based grid job scheduling model on the DEVS modeling and simulation environment and measured reduction rates of turnaround time, job loss, and communication messages in comparison with existing job scheduling models such as the random scheduling model and the MCT(Minimum Completion time) model. Experiment results that the proposed model is useful to improve the QoS of the grid job processing service.

  • Blockchain has tamper-free, so many applications are developing to leverage tamper-free features of blockchain. MIT Media Labs proposed BlockCerts, educational certificate blockchain System, to solve problems of legacy certificate verifications. Existing educational certificate blockchain Systems are based on public blockchain such as bitcoin, Ethereum, so any entity can participate educational institute in principal. Moreover, the exisitng educational certricate blockchain system utilizes the integrity of blockchain, but the confidentiality of the educational certificate is not provided. This paper propose a digital certificate system based on private blockchain, name HyperCerts. Therefore, only trusted entity can participate in the private blockchain network, Hyperledger, as the issuer of digital certificate. Furthermore, the practical byzantine fault tolerance is used as consensus algorithm, HyperCerts reduce dramatically the latency of issuing digital certificate and required computing power. HyperCerts stores the hash value of digital certificate into the ledger, so breach of personal information by malicious entity in the private blockchain is protected.

  • Video-on-Demand (VOD) service needs high resource consumption because of high bandwidth and long playback duration which are characteristics of multimedia. Various techniques such as Patching and Channel-Reserving Patching have been proposed to reduce the demand on the network-I/O bandwidth. Patching allows new clients to join an existing multicast for realization of true VOD, and Channel-Reserving Patching reserves the part of total channel capacity of video server in order to serve the requests for popular videos on which requests of users concentrate. To improve the performance of Channel-Reserving Patching, we propose the method that determines the reserved channel capacity of video server for the popular videos in this paper. The performance of our method is evaluated in terms of average servile latency, defection ratio and fairness through simulation, and is compared with those of Patching and another Channel-Reserving Patching.

  • In Next Generation Wireless Networks (NGWN), lots of information, such as voice and video data, will be used in All-IP networks. It is important note that seamless service for users and handoff between heterogeneous networks must be taken into account in such environments. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a SePH(Seamless Proxy based Handoff) using PMIPv6-based proxy model which is enable to improve the performance of handoff in NGWN. The SePH can efficiently support seamless and IP-based mobility by reducing the search process. The performance results show that our proposed scheme outperforms in terms of QoS (Quality of Service) such as throughput, handoff latency, packet loss, and signaling overhead comparing to the existing schemes.

  • Providing Quality-of-Service (QoS) guarantee requires the reservation of resource needed to accommodate the traffic flow of service for which resource reservation protocol (RSVP) was introduced. However, if any RSVP-capable router on the path fails to accommodate the traffic flow due to lack of resource, the flow is not allowed no matter how much surplus resources other routers on the path have. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a resource reservation method with available resource migration between RSVP-capable routers in which the routers use the recently developed latency optimized fair queuing scheduler. The results of the simulation applying the proposed method to an evaluation network show that it may yield the gain of up to 165% compared to that in the original one in terms of the number of admitted flows.

  • Mobile computing has become a reality thank to the convergence of two technologies :powerful portable computers and the wireless networks. The restrictions of wireless network such as bandwidth and energy limitations make data broadcasting an attractive data communication method. This paper addresses the clustering of wireless broadcast data for multipoint queries. By effective clustering of broadcast data the mobile client can access the data on the air in short latency In the paper we define the data affinity and segment affinity measures. The data affinity is the degree that two data objects are accessed by queries, and the segment affinity is the degree that two sets of data (i.e segments) are accessed by queries Our method clusters data objects based on data and segment affinity measures we show that the performance of our method is scarcely infuenced by the growth of the number of queries.

  • Mobile data caching is usually used as an effective way to improve the speed of local transaction processing and reduce server load. In mobile database environment, due to its characters - low bandwidth, excessive latency and intermittent network, caching is especially crucial. A lot of mobile data caching strategies have been proposed to handle these problems over the last few years. However, with smart phone widely application these approaches cannot support vast data requirements efficiently. In this paper, to make full use of cache data, lower wireless transmission quantity and raise transaction success rate, we design a new mobile data caching synchronization strategy based on in-demand and replacement priority. We experimentally verify that our techniques significantly reduce quantity of wireless transmission and improve transaction success rate, especially when mobile client request a large amount of data.

  • Intra-Body Communication (IBC) is a communication method using the human body as a communication medium. The fact that our human body consists of water and electrolyte allow such communication method could work and have strength in low-power. However, because the IBC directly affects to human body by using it as a medium, there was a lack of research in communication protocols of each communication layer. In this paper, we suggests MAC parameters which affects the performance of communication in human body channel, and propose new MAC protocol. Our results shows that our MAC is suitable for supporting high data rate applications with comparable radio duty cycle performance.
