  • Purpose: This study was conducted to review physiological mechanisms of internet addiction and to construct a theoretical framework for cognitive behavioral therapy for internet addicts. Methods: We searched for relevant literature in the PubMed and RISS databases using the terms "internet addiction", "internet game addiction", "internet abuser", and "online game". Only English, full-text articles published from 2000 to 2015 were included in this review of physiological indicators of internet addiction. Finally, 12 articles were selected for review. Results: The theoretical framework developed based on the review proposes that excessive internet use itself may induce physiological stress responses with an increase of stress-related hormones and neurotransmitters. Prolonged abnormal responses of these physiological features produce negative structural and functional changes in the prefrontal cortex, which is mainly involved in cognitive and executive functions. These changes may result in decreased cognitive function. As a stressor, excessive internet use leads to transforming voluntary use into involuntary, habitual use and thus promotes the development of internet addiction. Conclusion: The proposed theoretical framework encompasses cognitive processes that may contribute to the effects of internet use-induced physiological stress on internet addiction. We believe that this framework has important implications for developing cognitive behavioral strategies for internet addicts.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the conceptual definition and attributes of 'Taeoom' (or workplace bullying) inflicted to newly employed nurses in Korea. Method: Walker & Avant(2011)'s eight-stage process was used to perform a conceptual analysis of 'Taeoom'. Literature review of 40 studies published between Jan. 2009 and March 2018 published in Korea was followed by the in-depth interview with nine newly employed hospital nurses and the ex-post review of results by nursing experts. Findings: 'Taeoom' was associated with five attributes: (1) bullying for no reason, (2) peer rejection for no reason, (3) decreased physical function and psychological withdrawal, and (4) verbal abuse, defamation and nagging, (5) impotent feeling due to power imbalance. Four antecedents found in this study include offensive action, distrust, power imbalance, and undue workload exceeding capacity. As consequences of Taeoom, negative physical and psychological symptoms and turnover intention were increased while nursing performance was decreased. Conclusion: This study suggests the need for more qualitative researches with more comprehensive approach on Taeoom and the development of effective program to improve the organizational culture in nursing field. This study is significant in that it provides a qualitative but comparative review on the attributes, antecedents and consequences of Taeoom through literature review accompanied by focus group interview and expert review.

  • The hotel industry is an example of experiential services. As consumers cannot fully evaluate the online review content and quality of their services before booking, they must rely on several online reviews to reduce their perceived risks. However, individuals face information overload owing to the explosion of online reviews. Therefore, consumer cognitive fluency is an individual's subjective experience of the difficulty in processing information. Information complexity influences the receiver's attitude, behavior, and purchase decisions. Individuals who cannot process complex information rely on the peripheral route, whereas those who can process more information prefer the central route. This study further discusses the influence of the complexity of review information on hotel ratings using online attraction review data retrieved from TripAdvisor.com. This study conducts a two-level empirical analysis to explore the factors that affect review value. First, in the Peripheral Route model, we introduce a negative binomial regression model to examine the impact of intuitive and straightforward information on hotel ratings. In the Central Route model, we use a Tobit regression model with expert reviews as moderator variables to analyze the impact of complex information on hotel ratings. According to the analysis, five-star and budget hotels have different effects on hotel ratings. These findings have immediate implications for hotel managers in terms of better identifying potentially valuable reviews.

  • The purpose of this systematic review is to investigate the effects of tape application on improving body conditions. The search strategy for this review included a literature search by members of the International Kinematic Academy in 12 countries between January 2014 and February 2015 using PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane, Google Scholar, websites and national journals. The search words included "Kinesiotape, Kinesio tape, kinesiotaping, elastic taping, taping, functional taping, myofascial taping, sensomotor taping". The review included all articles, even those published in different languages. These searches resulted in 821 publications. There are several effects of tape application were revealed such as improving blood circulation, lymphatic circulation, body range of motion, activation of mechanoreceptor and joint stability, and decreasing pain. No one negative about the positive effects of taping, however the more effort is required to find evidence of effects of tape application.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to classify movie review documents into positive or negative opinions. There are several approaches to classify documents. The previous studies, however, used only a single classifier for the classification task. We describe a multiple classifier for the review document classification task. The method consists of three classifiers based on SVMs, ME and score calculation. We apply two voting methods and SVMs to the integration process of single classifiers. The integrated methods improved the accuracy as compared with the three single classifiers. The experimental results show the effectiveness of our method.

  • Dealing with existential concerns experienced by patients is an important part of palliative care. Interventions that use the life review method to encourage patients to reminisce about their lives can help them find new positive meanings, promote ego integrity, and reduce emotional suffering. Not everyone has positive memories when they look back on the past, however. This poses a limit on the effectiveness of the life review method for healthcare providers working in palliative care contexts. In this study, we discuss the limits of life review and suggest imagery rescripting as a new modality constituting a psychotherapeutic approach to deal with negative memories safely and effectively.

  • The importance of online reviews is prevalent as more people access goods or places online and make decisions to visit or purchase. However, such reviews are generally provided by short sentences or mere star ratings; failing to provide a general overview of customer preferences and decision factors. This study explored and broke down restaurant reviews found on Google Maps. After collecting and analyzing 5,427 reviews, we vectorized the importance of words using the TF-IDF. We used a random forest machine learning algorithm to calculate the coefficient of positivity and negativity of words used in reviews. As the result, we were able to build a dictionary of words for positive and negative sentiment using each word's coefficient. We classified words into four major evaluation categories and derived insights into sentiment in each criterion. We believe the dictionary of review words and analyzing the major evaluation categories can help prospective restaurant visitors to read between the lines on restaurant reviews found on the Web.

In this view, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between counterproductive work behaviors and narcissistic personality characteristics and to explore psychological dynamics about how narcissistic personality characteristics had an effect on counterproductive work behaviors. As a result, facts known were as follows. First, narcissists has strong desires to maintain a sense of superiority over others and defend their egos against unpleasant evaluation information, even if the information is factual and accurate. Second, narcissists are hyper-sensitive to negative information and are more likely to encounter information or situations that challenge their positive self-appraisals by this view. Third, in response to these challenges, or ego threats, these individuals are more likely to experience negative emotions, such as anger, frustration, or hostility. Forth, this negative emotions lead to aggression and as a result, this is more likely to induce counterproductive work behaviors such as theft, sabotage, interpersonal aggression, work slowdowns, wasting time and materials, and spreading rumors. Thus, narcissism is another individual difference variable that may be an important factor in determining counterproductive work behaviors, particularly under conditions perceived to be difficult or stressful.

  • The Seoul city recommended that old apartments be preserved, and as part of that, it decided to preserve some of the buildings for Jamsil Jugong, which was built in 1977, and Gaepo Jugong, which was constructed in 1981. The purpose of this study was to compare and review newspaper articles with two perspectives positive and negative about how the social perception of 'apartment trace remaining' was being constructed. By looking at the meaning of keywords delivered by newspaper articles and the interaction structure between keywords through the analysis of semantic networks, we analyzed how the media is pursuing an issue on the topic of preservation of architectural cultural heritage. The analysis results confirmed that there was a clear difference between positive and negative newspaper. Positive articles dealt with utilization from the point of view of keywords linked to preservation, and negative articles showed that keywords related to the property and backlash of residents linked to the policy of the Seoul Metropolitan Government were linked, leading to high negative public opinion.
