  • Objective : The purpose of this study is not only to examine the negative functions of alcohol, but also to examine the positive functions and look at it with a balanced perspective. Methods : We investigated the number of times the word "酒"(alcohol) appears in 《Hwangjenaegyeong》 and 《Gyeongakjeonseo》. The meaning of alcohol was divided into seven categories. The number of positive and negative functions of alcohol was counted and the ratio was calculated. Results : 1. In the 《Hwangjenaegyeong》, the word alcohol appears 23 times, of which 9 times has positive functions, 10 times has negative functions, and the remaining 4 times does not correspond anywhere. The ratio of positive functions is 39.13% and negative functions 43.48%. 2. In the 《Gyeongakjeonseo》, the word alcohol appears 1,487 times, of which 1,140 times (76.66%) has positive functions, and 327 times (21.99%) has negative functions. Conclusions : 1. In 《Hwangjenaegyeong》, the number of comments about positive and negative functions of alcohol is similar. 2. 《Gyeongakjeonseo》 has commented a lot about the positive functions of alcohol. However, it has more mentions to negative functions of alcohol except for those related to herbs and prescriptions (48 to 64 chapter). 3. It is somewhat unreasonable to judge the emphasis on the positive and negative function of alcohol according to the number of references to alcohol in oriental medicine classics. But in these books, we can find a balanced approach between the two sides, not a one-sided biased view. 4. From a curative point of view, it is desirable to know and to use the positive and negative functions of alcohol, and drink alcohol as appropriate control.

  • We present a concept of negative definite functions on a commutative normal hypercomplex system $L_1$(Q, $m$) with basis unity. Negative definite functions were studied in [5] and [4] for commutative groups and semigroups respectively. The definition of such functions on Q is a natural generalization of that defined on a commutative hypergroups.

  • In this work we obtain inequalities for coefficients related to functions belonging to two subclasses of univalent functions with negative coefficients, bounds for the modulus of these functions and their derivatives, and the extreme points of these classes. We also show an application of functions belonging to these classes to the fractional calculus.

  • In this paper, we define new classes $S*({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$ and $C*({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$ of T, the class of analytic and univalent functions with negative coefficients. We have sharp results concerning coefficients, distortion of functions belonging to these classes along with a. representation formular for the function in $S*({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$ and $C*({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$. Furthermore, we improve the results of Libera for the class of starlike functions having negative coefficients.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate relationships between psychotic symptoms and cognitive functions in schizophrenia. Methods : The study group was composed of 36 schizophrenic patients. Positive, negative, and disorganization symptoms were assessed using the PANSS. Verbal, visuospatial, attention, memory, and executive functions were assessed using a battery of cognitive tests. Results : Correlation analysis between symptom vs. cognitive measures showed that (a) positive symptoms were significantly correlated with no cognitive measures, (b) negative symptoms were significantly correlated with all cognitive measures, and (c) disorganization symptoms were significantly correlated with executive and memory measures. Correlation analyses between symptom vs. cognitive factors showed that negative-disorganization factor is significantly correlated with executive-memory factor. Conclusion : Significant relationships were confined mostly to frontal symptoms vs. frontal cognitive functions. Thus, the relationships may be mediated mainly by variations in severity of frontal pathology among patients.

  • This paper introduces two new subclasses of analytical functions with negative coefficients and derives coefficient estimates for these novel subclasses. Further, inclusion relations and necessary and sufficient conditions for the Poisson distribution series to belong to these subclasses are established.

  • Intelligent applications are crucial for increasing the popularity of shared urban electric bicycles (EBs). Building an application platform architectural system that can satisfy independent user operations is critical for increasing the intelligent usage of shared EBs. Consequently, we collected online reviews of shared EB applications, conducted semantic processing and sentiment analysis, and refined the positive and negative review data for each function. The positive and negative review indices of each function were calculated using the formulae for positive and negative review indices of product functions, thereby determining the functions that need to be improved. Each function of the Shared EB application was improved according to its business process. The main contributions of this study are to build a user requirement architecture system for the Shared EB application with five dimensions and 22 functions using the Delphi method to design the user interface (UI) of this application based on user satisfaction evaluation results; to create a high-fidelity dynamic interaction prototype and compare user satisfaction before and after improving the Shared EB application functions. The testing results indicate that the changes in the UI significantly improve the user experience satisfaction of the urban Shared EB application, with the positive experience index increasing by 69.21% and the negative experience index decreasing by 75.85% overall. This information can be directly used by relevant companies to improve the functions of the Shared EB application.

  • The purpose of this paper is to give sufficient coefficient conditions for a class of univalent harmonic functions that map each $$\mid$z$\mid$$ = r >1 onto a curve that bounds a domain that is starlike with respect to origin. Furthermore, it is shown that these conditions are also necessary when the coefficients are negative. Extreme points for these classes are also determined. Finally, comparable results are given for the convex analgo.

  • Various types of predator-prey systems are studied in terms of the stabilities of their steady-states. Necessary conditions for the existences of non-negative constant steady-states for those systems are obtained. The linearized stabilities of the non-negative constant steady-states for the predator-prey system with monotone response functions are analyzed. The predator-prey system with non-monotone response functions are also investigated for the linearized stabilities of the positive constant steady-states.

  • The object of the present paper is to show quasi-Hadamard products of certain p-valent functions with negative coefficients in the open unit disc. Our results are the generalizations of the corresponding results due to Yaguchi et al. [10], Aouf and Darwish [3], Lee et al. [5] and Sekine and Owa [9].
