Purpose : This study was performed to understand the relationship between hand and mouth shapes using functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI). Methods : Two healthy volunteers without any previous history of physical or neurological illness were recruited. fMRI was done that volunteers was 6 repeated of natural mouth, close mouth and open mouth while power grip and pinch grip movement. Results : Cerebral cortex activation was not well observed for the natural mouth during the power grip exercise. For the closed mouth, the temporal lobe, Broca's area, the prefrontal area related to thinking and judgment, the supplementary motor area, the auditory area and Wernicke's area were activated. For the open mouth, cortical activation was also observed in the temporal lobe, Wernicke's area, the prefrontal area related to thinking and the orbital frontal area related to visual sense. During the pinch grip exercise, cortical activation was observed for the natural mouth in the primary sensory area, Wernicke's area, the primary and supplementary motor area, and the prefrontal area. For the closed mouth, cortical activation was observed in the temporal lobe, Wernicke's area, the prefrontal area related to thinking, the secondary visual area, the primary sensory area and the supplementary motor area. In the case of the open mouth, cortical activation was observed in a few parts in the temporal lobe as well as Wernicke's area, the prefrontal area related to thinking, and other areas related to visual sense such as the primary visual area, the secondary visual area and the visual association area. Conclusion : Brain was more activation for close mouth and open mouth more than natural mouth movement.

본 연구에서는 깊은 굴착에 따른 인접구조물의 손상 평가 및 벽체 구조물의 안정성 평가를 하기 위한 지표의 거동 및 벽체 부재력의 효율적인 예측기법에 대한 내용을 다루었다. 우선적으로 지표의 거동 및 벽체 부재력에 영향을 미치는 매개 변수에 대한 연구를 수행하였고, 이를 토대로 다양한 굴착 조건에 대해 수치해석을 실시한 결과를 통해 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 구축된 데이터베이스를 토대로 벽체의 부재력과 지표의 거동 각각의 해석 결과에 대한 인공신경망 엔진 학습을 수행하였으며 학습된 인공신경망을 이용하여 예측된 결과와 사용된 데이터베이스의 결과를 비교하여 인공신경망 엔진이 벽체의 부재력 및 지표의 거동예측에 효율적임을 검증하였다.

Thơ mới (Vietnamese New Poetry, 1932-1945) is a literary movement in colonial Vietnam that is broadly considered to have marked the modernization of Vietnamese literature. This paper examines depictions about natural disasters, ecological wounds, and about relationships between humans and nature in New Poetry, asking how those descriptions reflect social and political issues in colonial Vietnam. The paper argues that ecocriticism, developed in Western academy, brought to the New Poetry Movement new meanings, associated with a material world. That is the specific reality of colonial Vietnam in the early twentieth century, when the colonial modernization resulted in natural and social collapses in the area. This approach is especially significant, given that New Poetry is largely seen as the embodiment of the expansion of Western romanticism by Vietnamese scholars. Moreover, in examining Thơ mới (Vietnam) from perspective of ecocriticism, this paper extends the ecocritical approach to non-Western literatures. Specifically, although ecocriticism developed in the West, particularly in United States and England, it has become an effective approach to non-Western literatures, particularly since the early twentieth first century. In this context, Asian literatures, particularly Southeast Asian literatures, potentially offer ecocriticism new meanings, many of which are associated with local social and political conditions and histories.

NUI(Natural User Interface)는 사용자의 자연스러운 동작이나 동작 시 발생하는 생체 신호를 해석하여 기계에 명령을 내리는 것을 말한다. 물리적인 변화가 있어야 사용이 가능한 가속도 센서나 영상 기반의 NUI와는 달리 특정 동작과 관련된 근육의 표면 근전도(surface Electromyogram, sEMG)를 측정하면 실제 움직임이 발생하지 않아도(isometric contraction) 동작 의도를 예측할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 근전도 기반으로 손목 동작 의도를 분류할 때 전극 개수에 따른 정확도를 확인하고, 키보드 등에 적용 가능한 인터페이스 기술을 제안한다. 손목의 동작 중 신전(extension, up), 굴곡(flexion, down), 외전(abduction, right), 내전(adduction, left)의 네 가지 동작 의도를 분류하는 실험을 진행하였다. 50ms 간격으로 계산된 제곱평균제곱근(Root Mean Square, RMS)을 특징으로 사용하였고, 동작 의도 인식을 위해 역전파 알고리즘으로 학습한 다층 퍼셉트론 분류기를 사용하였다. 전극 쌍의 개수를 네 개(91.9%), 세 개(87.0%), 두 개(78.9%)로 줄여가며 정확도를 확인했다. 전극 쌍의 개수가 네 개에서 두 개로 줄었을 때 정확도는 약 13% 감소하였다. 두 쌍의 전극만 사용하는 경우의 분류 정확도를 높이기 위하여 직전의 RMS를 특징에 추가하였다. 150 ms 이전까지의 정보를 사용하였을 때, 분류 정확도가 78.9%에서 83.6%로 4.6% 증가하였다. 전극 쌍의 개수가 감소함에 따라 정확도는 감소하였지만, 이전 데이터를 함께 사용한 경우 부분적으로 증가 시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

This paper begins with the thesis that the so-called 'Be Slow' Movement has not only affected the contemporary life style but also the current fashion trend in the West as well as in Korea. The influence of the 'Be Slow' Movement on the everyday life of Western and Korean society can be documented by recent books, news reports, and many articles from various kinds of mass media and fashion magazines since the year 2000. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First. the 'Be Slow' Movement is a new cultural phenomenon and very different from that of the past century. It has emerged very recently and it could affect the life style o( its followers for a long period of time. Second, the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement on everyday life can be witnessed in many behavioral choices. such as the preference of organic food and natural cooking for food and the preference of rural life and a green patch of land for housing. Some aspects of the way of rearing the children and long-term planning of one's life are also under the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement. In a way. the life style Proposed by the 'Be Slow' Movement is somewhat similar to that of 'Bobos'. Third, the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement on the current fashion trend can be observed in the appreciation of time-consuming labour and increased usage of D.I.Y. clothing. The higher value of fashion goods with handcrafted part or scarce luxury item are good examples of the influence by the 'Be Slow' Movement. One can say that the 'Be Slow' Movement is not retrogression, but a re-creation of time and space to be grateful for one's life. Thus, it is not anti-technology but a commercialism with technology in order to enhance the quality of life and to place people in the center of production and consumption. Consequently, one may say that the 'Be Slow' Movement is a appropriate and affluent way of living.

When people recognize a landscape, they first need to see it for a definite period time. This study clarified the way green space in a landscape is recognized using eye movement analysis, and evaluated the Pffi9bility for quantifying stress-reducing effects of seeing a landscape. The results of the experiments on eye movement analysis suggest that the way of recognizing green space in a landscape may depend on a ratio of the amount of scenic greenery in a landscape, color and greenery layout. Especially, this study also suggests that the possibility of the greenery layout guiding eye movement could be verified by conducting a study on planting patterns. In addition, the results of the experiments for quantifying stress-reducing substances found that it is likely that a green space in an urban area has stress-reducing effects.

최근 우리 사회에서 빈번하게 목격되는 환경이념과 개발이념 간의 갈등은 대체로 지역의 문제로써 표출되는데, 팔당 상수원 보호구역의 경우도 마찬가지이다. 자연자원의 개발을 통해 지역발전을 도모하고자 하는 지역주민들과 수도권 전체의 공익을 위한 맑은 물 확보 차원의 정부의 노력이 상충되고 있는 현장인 것이다. 더욱이 환경보호가 핵심키워드로 인식되고 있는 작금의 상황은 중앙의 환경단체들이 정부 편에 서서 지배담론을 강화시켜 줌으로써 생존권 화보를 위한 지역주민들의 저항담론을 약화시키고 있고, 따라서 극한 대립의 상황에까지 이르게 하였다. 이러한 갈등의 구도 속에서 매우 인상적인 중재적 역할을 수행하고 있는 것이 바로 유기농업운동이다. 이는 정부와 지역의 첨예한 대림을 완화시키고, 소위 윈-윈(win-win) 전략의 수립이 가능한 방향으로 지역주민들을 설득해가고 있다. 이는 또한 "지속가능한 발전", 혹은 "지탱가능성" 이념을 충족시킬 수 있는 하나의 대안으로써 이 지역에서 뿌리를 내려가고 있다. 환경규제에 맞서서 싸우고 있는 지역에서 오히려 혁명적인 친환경적 지역발전 정책들이 추진되고 있다는 본 지역에서의 상황이 다소는 역설적으로 들릴 수 있으나, 이는 우리나라의 농촌지역에서 앞으로도 계속 겪게 될 환경보존과 지역발전의 대립 구도 해결에 있어서 매우 중요한 방향타가 될 수 있을 것이다.

Recently more than ever, interest in Korean tradition has been on the increase, with an active movement to follow tradition. There are various merits for expression with the use of Korean paper as a clothing material. The purpose of this study was to assess the aesthetic characteristics of men's shirts fashioned using Korean paper (Hanji). The following conclusions were obtained from an analysis of the aesthetic characteristics of Hanji shirts. First, Hanji has a peculiar texture, with natural characteristics due to the direct use of naturally handcrafted materials. Hanji shirts have the natural beauty of pure Hanji, without artificial treatment or other subsidiary materials, with the exception of thread. Secondly, Hanji shirts with decorative details and trimmings, such as frills, pin tuck, embroidery and spangles, express an ornamental beauty. Thirdly, Hanji shirts with frills or a fringe have real movement when worn and spangles give the illusion of movement due to changes in color or twinkling caused by light giving the beauty of rhythmical motion. Fourthly, Hanji shirts produced using the application of various techniques, such as crumple, painting and dying, express artistic beauty. Fifthly, Hanji shirts can express traditional beauty, even if created whit modem designs, but using traditional materials.

A dress is commonly designed and worn as a work of art. It is developed through various ways to show the expression of our bodies with functional aspects. Light plays a role in everyday life functionally and aesthetically. We can use the light in many different ways in order to enhance the beauty of the designs. The purpose of this study is to suggest sensible designs with the active expression of light reflection. The designs are especially focused on utilizing light that shows the combination between natural human body's movement and reflection of the light. The use of reflective materials shows the character of movement when it exposes to light. The methods allow to amplify the aesthetic effects of the designs. Reflective materials were used in the resulting design to show the various effects of light by applying the movement which is artistic and aesthetic pleasing aspect for the clothing. The movement is accentuated when the wearer moves, or the air flows through the adding materials on the clothing. In addition, the beads attached to the end of the springs to show the movement of the light. The combination of the spring and the light movement resulted in a dazzling effect. I hope in the future, more studies will be conducted to further use of fiber optics and other innovative ways to use light in fashion.

As the demand for natural and beautiful smiles increases, the demand for anterior aesthetic treatment is increasing. Orthodontic treatment is often necessary for esthetic, healthy and natural treatment outcome. Particularly, in the case of middle-aged patients, minor tooth movement limited to anterior teeth is more effective than comprehensive orthodontic treatment which requires a long-term treatment period. Clinician who is in charge of aesthetic dentistry should have the ability to select a case that can be treated with partial orthodontic treatment and to determine the most effective treatment method. This article provides decision flowchart for case selection and choosing the best treatment modality for anterior teeth alignment.
