Purpose: This study was designed to identify whether organizational characteristics of Korean companies can make differences in innovative capability and Malcolm Baldridge management quality standard. In addition, based on the results and by verifying the influence of the innovative capability to management quality activity, it was to investigate the relations between the two factors. Methods: The subjects of this study were workers at major companies and small-and-medium sized companies. T-test was used to identify differences in innovative capabilities of industrial and age, position classifications, and regression analysis was employed to verify the influences of the innovative capability to the management quality activity. Results: The size of company caused some differences in market innovative sector regarding innovative capability. Management quality activity showed differences because of the sizes of companies and their supply types, while innovative capability influenced on all sectors of management quality activity. Conclusion: In this study Malcolm Baldridge management quality standard was applied to Korean companies. The results verified the meaningful influence of innovative capability to management quality activity. This means that the management quality activity can make a better performance when the innovative capability is good enough. Thus, the enhancement of management quality activity requires the boost of innovative capabilities of organization members.

While many previous studies have emphasized that technological and learning capabilities have an important impact on internationalization, however, there have been few attempts to directly identify the mediating role of innovative performance in the relationship between them. Therefore, we tested the relationships among two organizational capabilities such as technological capability and learning capability, innovative performance and internationalization. Specifically, we explored the impact of two organizational capabilities on innovative performance and the mediating role of innovative performance on internationalization. We tested hypotheses based on 206 survey data of Gwangju and Jeonnam provinces' small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The empirical results showed that both technological capability and learning capability had a significantly positive (+) effect on SMEs' innovation performance, and both technological capability and learning capability had a significantly positive (+) effect on internationalization performance. In addition, it was confirmed that the innovation performance is not only related to the relationship between technological capability and internationalization performance but also acts as a partial mediation role in the relationship between the learning capability and internationalization performance. Based on the results of this study, theoretical and practical implications were provided, and the limitations of this study and future research directions were also discussed.

We attempt to make regional innovative capability indices for overall understanding of regional innovation. We'll analyze various indicators on it using fuzzy set theory and compare regional innovative capabilities of 16 regions in Korea. The fuzzy set theory can reflect more normally the uncertainty of the stakeholder's responses than other decision making analysis methods. The overall results suggest that experts on regional innovation rank GRDP most important and Daejeon is the most innovative region. Building up regional innovative capabilities should be made for more balanced national land development.

National Innovative Capability (NIC) is an important decisive factor where economic growth is concerned. As such, it is very important to measure and manage NIC. The composite index approach is one of the widely used approaches to measuring NIC, but there have been insufficient reviews of its feasibility and reliability. This paper conducted an analysis of the feasibility and reliability of the report on the last three years (i.e. 2011 through 2013) of the Innovation Union Scoreboard (IUS) of the EU, which is the most representative means of measuring NIC. It turned out that its reliability meets the recommended criteria as a result of Chronbach's alpha-based test of the models of IUS-related composite index. However, neither the absolute fit index nor the incremental fit index was found to meet the recommended criteria in a construct validity analysis. It also turned out that predictive validity is very low as a result of panel linear regression analysis of sectors and items of IUS-related composite index. This paper presents a number of considerations to be made when measuring national innovative capability using the composite index approach, as well as major policy suggestions based on the results of the analysis.

The innovation of enterprises allowed firms to promote technological innovation as an important choice to improve sustainable competitiveness. This study aims to investigate the relationship between absorptive capacity and innovation performance of Chinese high-tech enterprises and focuses on the mediating role of innovation culture in high-tech enterprises. Data came from surveying high-tech enterprises in China, and the reliability analysis, factor analysis, and correlation analysis, path analysis (SEM) were analyzed using SPSS23, AMOS. The results show that intellectual capital composed of human capital, structural capital, and relational has a significant impact on acquisition performance; intellectual capital is composed of human capital; structural capital has a significant influence on innovation performance; and absorptive capital has a significant impact on innovation performance. In addition, innovative culture plays a partial mediating role between absorptive capacity and innovation performance. The findings of this study suggest that, to ensure the better absorption and operation of knowledge, high-tech enterprises can accumulate more knowledge, promote the transformation of knowledge into technology, and strengthen the capability of knowledge absorptive capacity, and at the same time, create an innovation culture atmosphere and encourage employees to develop new products to achieve enterprise goals in order to promote the improvement of innovation performance.

Smart technology has been utilized in various fields of all kinds of industries. Manufacturing industry has built its smart technology environment appropriate for its manufacturing fields in order to strengthen its manufacturing performance and competitiveness. The advance of smart technology for manufacturing industry needs to efficiently produce products, and response customer's demands and services in a global industrial environment. The smart technology capability of manufacturing fields is very crucial for the innovative production and efficient operation activities, and for efficient advancement of the manufacturing performance. We have necessitated a scientific and objective method that can gauge a smart technology ability in order to manage and strengthen the smart technology ability of manufacturing fields. This research provides a comprehensive framework that can rationally gauge the smart technology capability of manufacturing fields for effectively managing and advancing their smart technology capabilities. In this research, we especially develop a structural framework that can gauge the smart technology capability for a smart factory of manufacturing fields, with verifying by reliability analysis and factor analysis based on previous literature. This study presents a 13-item framework that can measure the smart technology capability for a smart factory of manufacturing fields in a smart technology perspective.

The innovative intelligent fuzzy weighted input estimation method which efficiently and robustly estimates the unknown time-varying input force in on-line is presented in this paper. The algorithm includes the Kalman Filter (KF) and the recursive least square estimator (RLSE), which is weighted by the fuzzy weighting factor proposed based on the fuzzy logic inference system. To directly synthesize the Kalman filter with the estimator, this work presents an efficient robust forgetting zone, which is capable of providing a reasonable compromise between the tracking capability and the flexibility against noises. The capability of this inverse method are demonstrated in the input force estimation cases of the plate structure system. The proposed algorithm is further compared by alternating between the constant and adaptive weighting factors. The results show that this method has the properties of faster convergence in the initial response, better target tracking capability, and more effective noise and measurement bias reduction.

This study aims to suggest methods for improving innovation capability in Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry. Before offering suggestions, it analyzes the characteristics of technological innovation based on the mobile industry's value chain in Daegu-Gyeongbuk in relation to R&D workforce, R&D expenditures, and R&D networks. Support for R&D workforce in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry is concentrated in the mobile device and contents sectors. In addition, it is difficult for companies to finance R&D expenditures because most are SMEs, except for some large enterprises in the mobile device sector. R&D networks are structured mainly inside of companies, and linkages among universities, research institutes, and supporting institutes are weak in all sectors. To strengthen the innovation capability in Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry, therefore, human resource projects should be dispersed, and financial support should also be spread across value chain sectors rather than concentrated. Aside from this, a place for industry, academia, institutes, and government to build and enhance innovative networks should be created in all sectors.

The effective exploitation of resources is critical for startup firms with insufficient resources to compete with well-resourced large firms. The direction and consistency of the resource input should be retained to utilize resources effectively, which will lead to a necessity for a fit between the strength in resources and the strategy of a firm. This study suggests hypotheses and verifies them empirically based on the logic that the attribute of resources in which a firm with a core competence decides the type of strategy and the formulated strategy presents the direction of the resource input, which enables the effective utilization of resources and facilitates high performance. According to the statistical results, the R&D capability affects the innovative differentiation strategy, marketing capability affects marketing differentiation strategy, and financial and production capability affects low cost strategy, in which the efficacy of the strategy depends on the attribute of resources. In addition, the R&D capability and marketing capability adversely affect the low cost strategy and the production capability negatively affects the innovative differentiation strategy, which implies that the exclusive choice of a strategy by the strength in resources results in improved performance. These results show that the fit between the resource and strategy is an essential cause of high performance in venture businesses.

Information security companies were established in earnest from the mid-late 1990s to early 2000s, far shorter than other national key industries. Nevertheless, the information security industry has made rapid progress. It is expected that the proportion of the information security industry will increase rapidly with the development of advanced technology along with the 4th industrial revolution. As COVID-19, which occurred at the end of 2019, spreads around the world in 2020, non-face-to-face services and digital transformation are accelerating, and cyber threats to users are also increasing. However, there are limitations in responding to new Cyber Security threats due to the shortage of information protection manpower, insufficient security capabilities of domestic companies, and the narrow domestic information protection market. This study examines the external environmental factors of information security companies such as government information protection system operation, government influence, government support, partnership between information security companies, and internal environmental factors such as top management support, financial status, human resources, organizational capability, This study was conducted using empirical data to analyze whether it affects innovation capability and whether organizational capability and innovation capability affect financial and non-financial performance. The results of this study can be used as basic data to suggest policies and implications for information security, and to strengthen the competitiveness of the information security industry.
