한국 국립대학 도서관의 발전책에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development Policy of National University Libraries in Korea)

  • This paper is intended to analyze and investigate the versity libraries in Korea. Nineteen national col-present status of four-year national college and unileges and universities based on a number of faculty member, enrollment, department, library staff, volumes in library, academic journals, book budget and facilities of library, and so we have to improve and develop a kind of problems with which national college and university libraries are confronted as follows: 1) Establishment of a position for the INFORMATION SPECIALIST. 2) Reorganization of the organization of college and university library. 3) Securing a position for the EDUCATIONAL RESEARCHER. 4) Upgrading a part of temporary employees. 5) Securing a self-control of library's administration. 6) Revising rules for labor employees in library. 7) Revising a STANDARD STATEMENT FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF UNIVERSITY. (Books and academic journals) 8) ' ( Facilities of library ) 9) Increase of a budget of library and establishing for an article of library budget. 10) Establishment of a new department exclusively responsible for library administration in the Ministry of Education. 11) Giving a leading(proper) role to Seoul National University Library among the other college and university libraries. 12) Establishment of The master course of INFORMATION SCIENCE or THE RESEARCH CENTER FOR INFORMATION SCIENCE in Seoul National University.

국가과학도서관 건립 및 운영에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Building and Operating of the National Science Library)

  • 과학기술정보자원은 모든 연구개발의 동력에 해당되므로, 선진국들은 폭발적으로 늘어나는 자국 국민들의 과학기술정보자원의 수요에 적극 대응하고자 효율적인 지식정보인프라 구축 차원에서 국가과학도서관의 건립 및 운영을 필수불가결한 사항으로 인식하고 있다. 그동안 우리나라에서도 국가 대표 과학기술정보의 수집, 관리 및 유통 기관으로서 국내적 위상 제고와 국제적 경쟁력 확보를 위해 국가적 차원의 첨단연구정보 전진기지로서 국가과학도서관의 건립이 부단히 요청되어 왔다. 한 나라의 국가과학도서관은 국가 발전과 번영을 위해 핵심적인 과학기술지식정보 인프라로서, 새로운 지식정보의 생산능력은 이러한 인프라의 용량에 의존하며, 새로운 이론과 기술 및 새로운 비전의 창출은 그 기능에 달려 있는 것이다. 이는 국가적 차원에서 정보주권의 수호와 국가예산의 중복투자 지양이라는 관점에서 다루어지면서, 동시에 충분한 지식정보의 확충을 기반으로 이용자가 만족할 수 있는 인프라로 개발 운영되어져야 하기 때문이다. 향후 우리나라가 지식정보사회에서 선진제국의 지식정보 식민지화나 과학 기술 예속화를 지양하고, 과학기술산업 부문에서 국제경쟁력을 제고하기 위해서라도 이러한 도서관의 건립은 피할 수 없는 과제라고 하겠다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 그동안 국가차원에서 심각한 과학기술정보자원의 부족 및 정보서비스를 활성화하고자 몇 차례 시도된 바 있는 우리나라 국가과학도서관의 건립 및 운영을 연구의 목적으로 설정하고, 이를 달성하기 위해 다음과 같이 세부적으로 고찰하고자 한다. 첫째, 국가과학도서관 건립의 필요성을 살펴보고, 둘째, 그 기능 및 역할을 규명하며, 셋째, 지금까지 논의된 도서관 건립의 과정을 조사 분석하고, 넷째, 최근 국립 과학기술 농학 의학도서관 등 설립 추진 계획이나 세종시의 성격 변화와 같은 주변 환경 등의 변화를 고려하면서 향후 도서관 건립의 문제점 및 발전 방향을 도출하여 제시하고자 한다.

  • MAA Digital library Workshop, October 6-8, 2006 was held at the newly completed Carriage House Conference Center at MAA Headquarters. This workshop is designed to inform participants about the Mathematical Sciences Digital Library (MathDL), the new MAA Math Gateway project, and the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) and to enable participants to conduct short sessions publicizing these online resources at MAA Section Meetings. The workshop was conducted by Lang Moore, David Smith, and Eileen McIlvain. Major support is being provided by the National Science Foundation through the National Science Digital Library Program. We introduce what was in there and how we properly use and publicize them and add what we could do.

The universities evaluated were Pusan National University, KyungBook National University, Seoul National University, Chonnam National University, Chonbuk National University, Chungnam National University and Pohang University of Science and Technology.

Fusion of Library, Archive, Museum, Publisher (LAMP): the NTNU Library Experience

  • The convergence of libraries, archives, and museums (LAMs) has garnered attention in recent years. Extending the tendency further, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) fuses the library, archive, museum, and publisher (LAMP) functionality together in its library. This article elaborates on the LAMP practices of the NTNU Library, which indicates that without creating new units in a university, its library can play a good role of curating invaluable university assets.

  • 국가도서관은 자국에서 출판되거나 생산된 모든 중요한 출판물과 디지털 정보를 수집 보존할 책임이 있다. 이를 위하여 관장은 도서관 및 정보시스템의 전문성을 기반으로 직무를 수행해야 함에도 불구하고 역대 국립중앙도서관장은 도서관 및 정보시스템 분야의 전문지식과 관리경력이 거의 없었다. 이에 본 연구는 개방형 직위제, 책임행정기관화, 정무직화, 특수법인화의 측면에서 국립중앙도서관장의 전문성 강화 내지 확보방안을 제안하였다.

The Specification of Science Education Programs in the Local Public Library: Focusing on the Programs In G-city

  • The city of 'G' has been made a number of achievements with its science program as a part of public library's cultural program during the last 5 years. Recently, the national science centre has been established in the same city, the debate is now needed whether the science program in the public library have reasons to be maintained or to be reduced. The aim of this research is on the operating strategies of the science program in the public library. The research methods include case studies of operational strategies in domestic and foreign science centre, the level of satisfaction of local citizen on the science program, the vision of science program in the advancement of public library in the $21^{st}$ century. In results, the research proposes that the science program in public library should be maintained, but with locally characterised programs. In addition, the study also advised on the provision of scientific information, the strengthened search functions, and the development of user-centred services for those in science fields.

국가도서관 지역분관 건립계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Branch Establishment Planning of National Library)

  • 어느 나라를 막론하고 국가도서관은 정부가 설립 운영하는 국립도서관으로서, 자국에서 생산 유통되는 모든 유형의 정보자료를 수집 보존하여 당대의 국민에게 제공하고. 완벽하게 전수하여 후대의 접근과 이용을 보장해야 하는 책무를 가지고 있다. 이를 위하여 문화선진국은 석러 지역에 위치하는 분산형 국가도서관시스템을 운영하는데 비하여 한국은 서울중심의 완전 집중시스템을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국의 집중형 국가도서관 시스템을 집중-분산형으로 재편하기 위한 논거를 도출하고 그것을 바탕으로 국립 지역분관 건립을 위한 중장기기본계획을 제시하였다.

정보의 상호협력을 위한 네트웍모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Model of Inter-library Cooperation's Network in the Information of Library Materials)

  • The purpose of this study is to build a model of inter-library cooperation's network in the information of library materials. Results of this study are 1. The YTational Assembly Library and the Central National I, ibrar:; should be unified. 2. The unified organization should be organized its cooperative quarter for itself (in the Central National Library). .And every library should he organized his quarter and personnel for the inter-library cooperation. 3. The cooperatior, organization in the re~ion should organized by the Regional Central Public Library. 4. In case of the Central National Library, financial problems required of the performance in the inter-library cooperation should he charged equally among the Central National Library, the library belong to the reader and the reader. In case of the regional Central Public Library, it should be charged equally arnozlg the regional Central Public Library, the library belon-g' to the reader and the reader. 5. The Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be managed the cooperation's work of the individual library, and upward the unified Central Xarional Library should generalize. 6. The purchase of materials should be done by the character of the each library 1r:ith the assignment of the each subject should be decided in the meeting of the each library personne!. -2nd the budget for purchasing per the year should be decided on the minimum by the circumstances of the each library regionally. 7. The unified Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be charged of the Union Catalog's expense regionally, and the Central National Library should be charged of that National Union Catalog's expense to cumulative the Fegional Union Catalog within a definite period of time. 8. Books without presentation of a specimen copy to the unified Central National Library should be purchased, and r.cr 'oe included to the National Union Catalog. 9. The cooperation of the each library should be decided on the law, and considered the character of the each region.

  • New curriculum for information and library science is proposed on the notion of the internship and scholarly characteristics. The future of the information and library science is expected as the discipline to synthesize the natural science and the social science. Especially the internship is strongly suggested as the post graduate program. To draw the conclusion. the history of the information and library science and its educational background are analyzed. The states of the historical developments of the information and library science are explained in terms of philosophy. The functional and scholarly environments of the information and library science are also investigated. Secondarily it concludes that the curriculum development for information and library science is not aimed on the skills but on the phenomena.
