2002년(年) 월드컵에 나타난 태극기(太極旗) 패션에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (The Fashion of Korean National Flag at World Cup 2002)

  • The purpose of this study is considering about the fashion of Korean National Flag in the point of view of sociology and philosophy. The contents are the philosophy of the Korean National Flag-'Taegk', the Great Absolute in Korean philosophy, and the historical fashion trend of The Korean National Flag. The results of characteristics of The Korean National Flag are summarized as following; 1. The Korean National Flag contains 'Taegk' philosophy, the source of the dual principle 'Yn' and 'Yang'. 2. The design of 'Taegk' has been showed in Korean society traditionally. 3. The fashion of Korean National Flag dramatically is changed after Korea/Japan World cup 2002. 4. The Korean National Flag is the strong symbol of Korean society, affirmatively, same as the American National Flag.

Genetic Analysis of Traits Associated with Panicle and Flag Leaf in Tropical Japonica Rice

  • Diallel analysis was conducted with FI's derived from crossing in all combinations without reciprocals among six rice varieties; three tropical japonica and three temperate japonica varieties, with different traits associated with panicle and flag leaf. Epistasis was observed in the number of primary branches (PB) per panicle and of spikelets per panicle, while flag leaf length, flag leaf color, PB length and neck node thickness were explained with the additive-dominance model. The estimated genetic mode of flag leaf length and PB length was a positive complete dominance model with high heritability, and that of flag leaf color and neck node thickness was an incomplete dominance model. In particular, tropical japonica varieties with low-tillering and heavy-panicle appear to have higher number of dominant genes for flag leaf length and PB length than temperate japonica varieties.

Experimental and numerical investigation of the energy harvesting flexible flag in the wake of a bluff body

  • Inspired by the energy harvesting eel, a flexible flag behind a D-shape cylinder in a uniform viscous flow was simulated by using the immersed boundary method (IBM) along with low-speed wind tunnel experimentation. The flag in the wake of the cylinder was strongly influenced by the vortices shed from the upstream cylinder under the vortex-vortex and vortex-body interactions. Geometric and flow parameters were optimized for the flexible flag subjected to passive flapping. The influence of length and bending coefficient of the flexible flag, the diameters (D) of the cylinder and the streamwise spacing between the cylinder and the flag, on the energy generation was examined. Constructive and destructive vortex interaction modes, unidirectional and bidirectional bending and the different flapping frequency were found which explained the variations in the energy of the downstream flag. Voltage output and flapping behavior of the flag were also observed experimentally to find a more direct relationship between the bending of the flag and its power generation.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss the modern fashion design that incorporates national flags, by each country, methods of their expressions and distinct characteristics. Moreover, it intends to contribute in creating the image of Korea and our own unique fashion identity through creative designs that coincides with the modern trend by adopting Taegeukgi. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: The American flag and the British Union Jack were molt widely used and even though it was less frequent, flags of the France, Korea, Israel, Germany as well as Argentina have been featured in modern fashion. The expression methods also varied and it demonstrated the unlimited options as to how a flag can be presented. Some used the traditional flag as is. Some only used a portion of a flag or its colors as a motive or sometimes the flags were completely redesigned. There are distinctive characteristics when flags are incorporated into fashion. First, the shapes or colors of the flags were used to emphasize the image of a country in rather simple silhouette without many details. Second, through altered shapes, shades, colors or rearrangement, the country's image is presented in more subtle, indirect manner. Third, a flag is a mere element of a formation with various changes to its shape or color, and it no longer holds the traditional significance of a flag. It may also represent the playful or ironic image by combining with other items or execution techniques.

머신 러닝 알고리즘을 이용한 역방향 깃발의 에너지 하베스팅 효율 예측 (Prediction of Energy Harvesting Efficiency of an Inverted Flag Using Machine Learning Algorithms)

  • The energy harvesting system using an inverted flag is analyzed by using an immersed boundary method to consider the fluid and solid interaction. The inverted flag flutters at a lower critical velocity than a conventional flag. A fluttering motion is classified into straight, symmetric, asymmetric, biased, and over flapping modes. The optimal energy harvesting efficiency is observed at the biased flapping mode. Using the three different machine learning algorithms, i.e., artificial neural network, random forest, support vector regression, the energy harvesting efficiency is predicted by taking bending rigidity, inclination angle, and flapping frequency as input variables. The R2 value of the artificial neural network and random forest algorithms is observed to be more than 0.9.

  • This study aims to intensively analyze the effect of ESG activities on the Business performance focused on Korean national flag carrier. The purpose of this study is to provide ESG activities to promote the sustainable development of Korean national flag carriers by verifying the impact of ESG on airline's business performance through mediate variables within the airline industry in consideration of the value and importance of ESG. A survey is conducted with a total of 272 users of Korea's national flag carrier both Korean air and Asiana airline. The collected data is analyzed using a structural equation model. The results show that ESG management has an indirect positive effect on business performance. It is expected that the results of this study may be employed as fundamental data to emphasize the relative importance of an ESG activities, thereby enhancing the Korean national flag carrier's business management and eliciting a positive impact on sustainable growth.

스케일러블 동영상 부호화 표준에서 움직임 예측 플래그를 위한 효율적인 부호화 방식 (An Efficient coding Method for Motion Prediction Flag in the Scalable Video Encoding Standard)

  • In the scalable video coding standard, inter-layer prediction based on the coding information of the base layer was adopted to increase the coding performance. This prediction tool results in new syntax elements called motion_prediction_flag (mPF) and residul_prediction_flag(rPF), which are carried to notify the motion vector predictor (MVP) and reference block required in the motion compensation of the decoder. In this paper, an efficient coding method for mPF is proposed to enhance coding efficiency of the salable video coding standard. Through an analysis on the transmission of mPF based on the relationship between the MVPs, we discover the conditions where mPF is unnecessary at the decoder and suggest a modified rate-distortion (RD) cost function to make RD optimization more effective. Simulation results show that the proposed method offers BD rate savings of approximately 1.4%, compared with the conventional SVC standard.

외국선박의 내수 및 영해 무단정박에 관한 연구 (A Study on Unauthorized Anchoring of Foreign-flag Vessels in Internal Waters and Territorial Sea)

  • 내수란 영해기선의 육지측 수역으로 연안국의 주권이 미치는 수역이며, 다만 직선기선을 채용하여 새로이 내수로 편입된 곳에서는 연안국의 주권과 함께 외국선박에게는 무해통항권이 인정된다. 특히, 우리나라는 서남해안에 직선기선을 채용하여 무해통항이 인정되는 넓은 내수를 보유하고 있는데, 어업 안전 환경 안보 등 연안 이익을 보호하기 위해 내수를 이용하는 외국선박을 적절히 관리할 필요가 있다. 또한, 영해의 경우에도 연안국의 주권이 미치는 수역으로 연안국의 주요 이익의 보호를 위해 매우 중요한 수역이다. 최근 내수나 영해에서 무단정박 정류하는 외국선박과 충돌사고가 빈번히 발생하여 우리나라에 큰 위협이 되고 있다. 이에 이 논문은 우리나라 내수 또는 영해에서 무단으로 정박·정류한 외국선박의 충돌사고에 관한 사례를 분석하고, 외국선박의 내수 및 영해 통항에 관련된 국내외 법체계를 확인하고 고찰하여, 내수 및 영해에서 외국선박의 무단정박은 무해통항요건을 위반한 것으로, 관련 법률에 따른 처벌가능성을 제시하였고, 내수 및 영해통항 및 정박에 관한 바람직한 법제도 정비방안을 제시하였다.
