  • The SiO2/TiO2 multilayer thin films used for narrow band pass filter were fabricated using E-beam evaporation method. The narrow band pass filter was used to enhance the resolution of spectroscopy and sensor applications with near infrared (NIR) light source. The narrow band pass filter with multilayer thin films were designed with Essential Macleod program. The multilayers of SiO2/TiO2 with 32 layers were deposited on the silicon encapsulation of IR with peak wavelength (λp) of 660 nm and NIR LEDs with λp of 830 nm, 880 nm, and 955 nm. After NIR light passed through the narrow band pass filter, the full width of half maximum of 33.4~48.6 nm became narrow to 20~24 nm owing to the absorption of photons with short or long wavelength of designed band of 20 nm. The SiO2/TiO2 band pass filter fabricated in this study can be used for sensor, optoelectronics, and NIR spectroscopy applications.

  • This paper describes the design of band-pass filter using the dielectric resonator and microstrip line depends mainly upon the magnetic field and is principal parameter as band-pass filter. Because dielectric resonator band~pass filter has a very high-Q, the bandwidth of this filter is very narrow. as a result of experiment, the dielectric resonator bandwidth of this filter is very narrow. As a result of experiment, the dielectric resonator band-pase filter has various modes central frequencies due to the mode change and good characteristric as a band-pass filter.

  • We propose and design a new type of anrrow band-pass optical filter based on two fiber gratings with different reflection wavelength. The ripples occur in the spectra of the filter with two uniform fiber gratings. Our simulation results also show that the ripples disappear with the fiber gratings apodized to both gaussian and hyperbolic tangent function. The hyperbolic tangent function seems to be a better apodization function for improving the filter's performance in terms of narrow pass bandwidth and high transmission.

  • This letter proposes a band-pass filter (BPF) with two transmission zeros based on a combination of parallel coupling and end coupling of half-wave transmission lines. The fabricated BPF exhibited a narrow bandwidth and two transmission zeros near the pass-band due to the end-coupled and shielding waveguide. At the center operation frequency of 60 GHz, the 20 dB bandwidth of the BPF is 1.0 GHz, which is almost 2% of the center operation frequency, and the insertion loss is 3.12 dB. Two transmission zeros reach approximately 40 dB at 58.5 and 62.5 GHz. The simulation results almost agree with the measured results.

  • This paper represents 50 ㎓ narrow band pass filters for fiber optical communication fabricated by dual ion beam sputtering method. We have analyzed the characteristics of the TA$_2$ $O_{5}$ and $SiO_2$ single layers in order to optimize the process conditions for the 50 ㎓ narrow band pass filters, and controlled the film thickness uniformity to less than 0.1 nm deviation by dual peak spike filter pre-deposition. We designed and fabricated 50 ㎓ narrow band pass filters that consist of 216 layers including 4 cavities based on quarter wave optical thickness. Class substrates with high thermal expansion coefficients were used to reduce the film stress. Anti-reflection coating at the rear side of the substrate was also needed to reduce the optical thickness errors of the Optical Monitoring System caused by multiple beam interference between the front side and the rear side of substrate. The optical characteristics of this 50 ㎓ narrow band pass filters are insertion loss of 0.40 ㏈, pass band ripple of 0.20 ㏈, and pass bandwidth at -0.5 ㏈ of 0.20 nm. and isolation bandwidth at -25 ㏈ of 0.6 nm, which satisfy specifications of dense WDM system in fiber optical communications.tions.

  • A novel empirical mode decomposition strategy based on Fourier transform and band-pass filter techniques, contributing to efficient instantaneous vibration analyses, is developed in this study. Two key improvements are proposed. The first is associated with the adoption of a band-pass filter technique for intrinsic mode function sifting. The primary characteristic of decomposed components is that their bandwidths do not overlap in the frequency domain. The second improvement concerns an attempt to design narrowband constraints as the essential requirements for intrinsic mode function to make it physically meaningful. Because all decomposed components are generated with respect to their intrinsic narrow bandwidth and strict sifting from high to low frequencies successively, they are orthogonal to each other and are thus suitable for an instantaneous frequency analysis. The direct Hilbert spectrum is employed to illustrate the instantaneous time-frequency-energy distribution. Commendable agreement between the illustrations of the proposed direct Hilbert spectrum and the traditional Fourier spectrum was observed. This method provides robust identifications of vibration modes embedded in vibration processes, deemed to be an efficient means to obtain valuable instantaneous information.

  • In this paper, a CPW band-pass filter with a rejection band is proposed for UWB(Ultra-Wideband) communication systems. The proposed filter has a band-pass characteristic of wide-band by inserting only a slot in $50{\Omega}$ transmission line. To obtain the band-rejection function at WLAN frequency band($5.15{\sim}5.725GHz$), the designed filter is combined with folded slot resonators on the ground plane of the CPW structure. The fabricated CPW band-pass filter shows a compact size of $15.35{\times}13.60mm$, a wide passband of 2.8 GHz to 9.8 GHz and the narrow stop-band of 5.15 GHz to 5.71 GHz for 3-dB bandwidth. Also, the measured group delay is less than 400 psec throughout the operation frequency band except the rejection band.

  • In this paper, an UWB (Ultra Wide Band) band-pass filter with open stubs using SIR (Stepped Impedance Resonator) structure is presented. The proposed band pass filter (BPF) has SIR structure instead of open stubs for UWB application with low insertion loss. The bandwidth of the proposed BPF is 103 % at the center frequency of 5.8GHz and the insertion and return losses are 0.17dB and 13.1dB, respectively. Also, the entire size of the proposed band-pass filter is $21.6{\times}17.8mm^2$.

  • Multilayer LTCC technology enables RF modules to be reduced dramatically by taking advantage of the three dimension flexibility. Compared to a conventional two dimensional PCB, LTCC allows higher density, reduced size, and lower cost. In this research, BPF based on LTCC for 900MHz ZigBee application was implemented which can replace SAW filter with using the material of the Dupont9599's dielectric constant 7.8. And distributed baud pass filter for 900MHz ZigBee system applications is presented. Using resonator stripline and capacitance, 2nd order band pass filter was designed. Adjusting resonator's length and capacitance is easy to tune at accurate center frequency by shifting band because ZigBee system is using narrow bandwidth, $902MHz^{\sim}928MHz$. Also resonator has no limitation in space, so reducing size is possibile. Designed filter had I.L. 2.8dB at 915MHz and attenuation at 815MHz, 1015MHz was 16dB, 15dB, respectively. Therefore, the sharpe cut-off and good insertion loss for ZigBee system application.
