In this work, we study on the effects of the oxygen pressure on the structural and crystalline of MgZnO thin films. MgZnO thin films were deposited on p-Si (111) substrates by using pulsed laser deposition. The X-ray diffraction analysis and energy-dispersive X-ray results revealed that as the oxygen pressure increased and Mg content in the MgZnO films decreased. Also Crystal structure was changed from cubic rock salt to hexagonal wurtzite. Alpha step and atomic force microscopy results showed that the thickness of the films are about 100 nm, and it has been found that the MgZnO (002) preferred orientation were deposited with increasing the oxygen pressure. Therefore, the effect of the preferred orientation, the crystallization grew in the form of the columnar; Grain size and RMS of the films were increased with increasing oxygen pressure.
This paper presents a novel impact sensor which can be fabricated with smart paint made of grapheme. This smart nano paint can be easily installed on structures using a spray-on technique and that can make the sensor low cost and practical. The graphene effectively improves the piezoresistivity of the smart paint and that is available to achieve sensitive impact sensor with high gauge factor. The nano smart-paint can detect sufficient impact to cover the damaged energy range of the composite around 1~3J. The voltage outputs from the sprayed paints show fairly linear responses after signal processing. The impact makes deformation of the structure and it brings change of piezoresistivity of the paint and those converts into voltage output consequently by means of a simple signal processing system. The nano smart paint is lightweight and easily applied to the structural surface, and there is no stress concentration. The nano smart paint is expected to be a cost effective and sensitive multi-functional sensor for composites and other damage monitoring applications in the field of structural health monitoring.
We proposed and demonstrated the double layered metallic nano-hole structure using polystyrene beads process to enhance the sensitivity of surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The double layered SPR structures are calculated using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for the width, thickness, and period of the metallic nano-hole structures. The thickness of the metal film and the metallic nano-hole is 30 and 20 nm in the 214 nm wide nano-hole size, respectively. The double layered SPR structures are fabricated with monolayer polystyrene beads of 420 nm wide. The sensitivities of the conventional SPR sensor and the double layered SPR sensor are obtained to 42.2 and 52.1 degree/RIU, respectively.

This research deals with wave propagation of the functionally graded (FG) nano-beams based on the nonlocal elasticity theory considering surface and flexoelectric effects. The FG nano-beam is resting in Winkler-Pasternak foundation. It is assumed that the material properties of the nano-beam changes continuously along the thickness direction according to simple power-law form. In order to include coupling of strain gradients and electrical polarizations in governing equations of motion, the nonlocal non-classical nano-beam model containg flexoelectric effect is used. Also, the effects of surface elasticity, dielectricity and piezoelectricity as well as bulk flexoelectricity are all taken into consideration. The governing equations of motion are derived using Hamilton principle based on first shear deformation beam theory (FSDBT) and also considering residual surface stresses. The analytical method is used to calculate phase velocity of wave propagation in FG nano-beam as well as cut-off frequency. After verification with validated reference, comprehensive numerical results are presented to investigate the influence of important parameters such as flexoelectric coefficients of the surface, bulk and residual surface stresses, Winkler and shear coefficients of foundation, power gradient index of FG material, and geometric dimensions on the wave propagation characteristics of FG nano-beam. The numerical results indicate that considering surface effects/flexoelectric property caused phase velocity increases/decreases in low wave number range, respectively. The influences of aforementioned parameters on the occurrence cut-off frequency point are very small.
Encapsulation of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) within a bio-compatible layered inorganic material was achieved by coprecipitation reaction, in which the layered inorganic lattice and its intercalate of vitamin C are simultaneously formed. The nano-meter sized powders of vitamin C intercalate thus prepared was again encapsulated with silica nano-sol to form a nanoporous shell structure. This ternary nanohybrid of vitamin Clayered inorganic core-$SiO_2$ shell exhibited an enhanced storage stability and a sustained releasing of vitamin C. Furthermore, the nano-encapsulation of vitamin C with inorganic mineral was very helpful in delivering vitamin C molecules into skin through stratum corneum, facilitating transdermal penetration of vitamin C in topical application.
Based on differential quadrature method (DQM) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), forced vibrations of a porous functionally graded (FG) scale-dependent beam in thermal environments have been investigated in this study. The nanobeam is assumed to be in contact with a moving point load. NSGT contains nonlocal stress field impacts together with the microstructure-dependent strains gradient impacts. The nano-size beam is constructed by functionally graded materials (FGMs) containing even and un-even pore dispersions within the material texture. The gradual material characteristics based upon pore effects have been characterized using refined power-law functions. Dynamical deflections of the nano-size beam have been calculated using DQM and Laplace transform technique. The prominence of temperature rise, nonlocal factor, strain gradient factor, travelling load speed, pore factor/distribution and elastic substrate on forced vibrational behaviors of nano-size beams have been explored.
This study has been focused on an effective surface finishing method combining ELID (ELectrolytic In-process Dressing) and MAP (Magnetic Assisted Polishing) for the nano-precision mirror grinding of glass-lens molding mould. ELID grinding is an excellent technique for mirror grinding of various advanced metallic or nonmetallic materials. A polishing process is also required for elimination of scratches present on ELID grinded surfaces. MAP has been used as polishing method due to its high polishing efficiency and superior surface quality. It also presents some techniques for achieving the nanometer roughness of the hard material such as WC-Co, which are extensively used in precision tooling material.
In oder to investigate of partial discharge of nano-composites materials, we have studied partial discharge appling voltage from 5 to 30 [kV] to make an artificial defect with the epoxy adding to 0, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.6 [wt%], respectively. The experimental result, we have found that $SiO_2$ of 0.4 (wt%] was superior to others also, it is found that the effect of isolate diagnosis to get the slope for the discharged electric charge distribution.
In order to develop an new electric insulation material for heavy electric equipments, epoxy/micro/nano composite (EMNC) was prepared by mixing micro-silica with nano layered silicate, where the nano layered silicate was synthesized by our electric field dispersion method, EMNSC was prepared by treating the EMNC with a silane coupling agent. Thermal properties such as glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal expansion coefficient, and DMA characteristics were studied, and mechanicla properties such as tensile and flexural tests were performed. AC electrical insulation strength was also tested. All properties of EMNSC were modified by treating EMNC with silane coupling agent and it was confirmed that our new developed composites could be used in the heavy electric equipments.
In this paper, we have investigated dispersibility, volume resistivity of nano-composite by solution mixing method. Dispersibility measured by FE-SEM(Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope. And volume resistivity measured by ASTM D991. To expect interaction used dual filler system. But, dual filler system had influence on polymer complex. So, polymer chain mobility doesn't resist.
