The purpose of this study lies in identifying the psychological state of working women engaged in sales and services and seeing how it is correlated to their nail management behavior. Also, the study aims to look into the relationship that exists between these two factors and provide information to help women live and work better with higher self-satisfaction. As for the research process, 210 women aged 20 to 30 engaging in sales and services of clothing, financing, and cosmetics sales were asked to fill out questionnaires. Survey results indicate that women who received college education and beyond as well as those working in the cosmetics sales area were exceptional in their psychological wellbeing. In addition, women with higher income, especially those who work in the cosmetics sales field and are not yet married participated in nail management behavior with the most enthusiasm. Therefore as for the relationship between psychological wellbeing and nail management behavior, it can be said that the better one's psychological wellbeing is, the more one is likely to strive for uniqueness in managing nails.

While associations between trace elements and heavy metals with prostate cancer are still debatable, they have been considered as risk factors for prostate cancer. Thus, this study aimed to detect any links between selected minerals and heavy metals including Se, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe with prostate cancer. A case control study was carried out among 100 subjects (case n=50, control n=50), matched for age and ethnicity. Trace elements and heavy metals level in hair and nail samples were determined by ICP-MS. Mean selenium levels in hair and nail of the cases were significantly lower as compared to controls. A similar trend was noted for zinc in both hair and nail samples, whereas the mean level of copper was significantly higher in cases than controls. Similar elevation was noted for iron and manganese (p<0.05 for all parameters). Low levels of selenium and zinc and high levels of copper, iron and manganese appear to be associated with the risk of prostate cancer. Further studies to elucidate the causal mechanisms and appropriate chemopreventive measures are needed.

Beauty Art is an act which makes a face beautiful using various methods such as permanent, manicure and make-up. Recently, Beauty Art is recognized as the personal culture expressing the value of beauty and spirit. Therefore, there are growing interests in the comprehensive study of Beauty Art nor only from the beauty industries but also from academia, because Beauty Art is the high value-added field and Is recognized as a style of the dress. The purpose of this study is to open a new view to understand the Nail Art as a fold of experimental plastic art. The arctic expression is added to Beauty Art to develop it from the routine technique of the make-up and hairstyling to creative art. Assemblage is adopted to provide Beauty Art with fine harmonious expression which develop Nail Art into interesting and unique art area. Assemblage meaning compounding or collection is a technique through which three-dimension is added to two-dimension paintings, and which is an expression of an art work by recollection of miscellaneous articles or waste materials. Assemblage is a term which Jean Dubuffet coioned first in order to differentiate collage used by Picaso or Braque. Here, I present Nail Art Designs which applied Jean Dubuffet's works focusing on Automaticity and Happenstantial phenomena of materials, Materialization, and Directness. These features are characteristics of Assemblage which basic frameworks are fantastic collection, accumulation, constructive collection, and object collection.

Since low-rise residential buildings are the most common and vulnerable structures in coastal areas, a reliable prediction of their performance under hurricanes is necessary. The present study focuses on developing a refined finite element model that is able to more rigorously represent the load distributions or redistributions when the building behaves as a unit or any portion is overloaded. A typical 5:12 sloped low-rise residential building is chosen as the prototype and analyzed under wind pressures measured in the wind tunnel. The structural connections, including the frame-to-frame connections and sheathing-to-frame connections, are modeled extensively to represent the critical structural details that secure the load paths for the entire building system as well as the boundary conditions provided to the building envelope. The nail withdrawal, the excessive displacement of sheathing, the nail head pull-through, the sheathing in-plane shear, and the nail load-slip are found to be responsible for the building envelope damage. The uses of the nail type with a high withdrawal capacity, a thicker sheathing panel, and an optimized nail edge distance are observed to efficiently enhance the building envelope performance based on the present numerical damage predictions.

Recently a pressurized grouting soil nail is demanded due to problems beyond of economical and engineering purpose. In this study, a newly modified soil nailing technology named as the PGSN (Pressurized Grouting Soil Nailing) system is respected to reduced displacements of nails and increase of global slope stability. And effects of various factors related to the design of the PGSN system, such as the length of the soil nail, injected pressure and W/C ratio of cement grout in the pressurized grouting soil nail are examined throughout a series of the displacement-controlled field pull-out tests. Displacement-controlled field pull-out tests are performed in the present study and the volume of grouting are also evaluated based on the measurements. In addition, both short-term and long-term characteristics of pull-out deformations of the newly proposed PGSN system are analyzed and compared with those of the general soil nailing system by carrying out the stress-controlled field pull-out tests. From the pull-out characteristics of pressurized grouting soil nails, it is found that the effect of the length of the soil nail, injected pressure and W/C ratio of cement grout are important parameters.

The lifestyle of customers visiting nail shops is categorized into four such as the types of 'pursuit of fashion', 'pursuit of brand', 'conservative frugality', 'premeditated pursuit'. Subjects are divided into 3 groups such as a 'pragmatist group', an 'achievement-oriented group' and a 'brand-oriented group'. Customers satisfaction level was measured in the subcategories of a 'personal service', a 'technical service', a 'facility service' and an 'after-sales service'. Their satisfaction levels depending on the types of customers' lifestyle have meaningful differences in a 'technical' and an 'after-sales' service. The 'pragmatist group' shows the highest mark in a 'personal service' and an 'achievement-oriented', it prefers the 'personal' and 'facility service' evenly. The 'brand-oriented' group shows high concern in the 'technical service'. Concludingly, the types of customers' lifestyle which influence their revisiting of the nail shop have deep relation to customers' satisfaction level in the 'personal', 'technical', 'facility', and 'after-sales service' of nail shops. Especially the 'facility service' is highly influential in customer's revisiting.

Purpose: Despite a high frequency of acquired nail disease, congenital absence of the nail, also called as anonychia, is a rare anomaly. It may be seen as an isolated of phalangeal bone(ectrodactyly), nail-patella syndrome, birth trauma, impaired peripheral circulation, alopecia areata, and pemphigus, idiopathic atrophy of the nail, bullous drug eruptions, periodic shedding, lichen planus, Stenvens-Johnson syndrome and so forth. Methods: We have experienced a rare case of 40-day-old neonate, suffering from intrauterine growth retardation, but without familial history, chromosomal anomalies or any other diseases. Results: There was no nail on left 5th finger and distal phalangeal bone of same finger. So, We diagnosed as Congenital Anonychia with ectrodactyly of 5th Finger. Conclusion: We report this case as congenital anonychia of 5th finger which have developed from underlying distal phalangeal ectrodactyly. We also review other reported cased in the literatures.

During the laser welding, weldments are suddenly heated by laser beam and cooled. This phenomenon gives occasion to complex welding residual stresses, which have a great influence on structural instability strength, in laser welds. However, a relevant research on this field is not sufficient until present and residual stress measurements have experimental and practical limitations. For these reasons a numerical simulation may be attractive in order to solve the residual stress problem. In order to determine the distribution of heat and welding residual stresses in laser welds with the nail-head shape, authors conduct the finite element analysis (two-dimensional unstationary heat conduction & thermal elasto-plastic analysis). From the result of this study, we can confirm the stress concentration is occurred at the place of melting line shape changed in laser welds with the nail-head shape.

We study on the video-capillaroscopy system for look a.t the nail fold capillary by the computer. This system is composed of the luminous source-producer, image-input, phase microscope. The method and contents of observation on this system are seperated from the image-analysis of nail fold capillary form-patterns and the currents of hematocytes. Therefore we think this system is possible to the practical clinic use for the basic model on the cardiac failure and the deficiency(血虛), stagnant(血瘀) of blood in human.
