  • This paper is study on simultaneous reduction of NOx and soot for direct injection diesel engine using high and low cetane fuels. The stratified injection system was applied for diesel engine to use high and low cetane fuel. In this study, diesel fuel was used as high cetane fuels, methanol was used as low cetane fuels. Some parts of the injection system, ie. Nozzle holder. delivery vale, was remodeled to inject dual fuel sequentially from one injector. The leak injection quantity ratio of dual fuel was certificated by volumetric ratio at injection quantity experiment. According as concentration of low cetane fuel was varied, combustion experiment was performed using Toroidal and Complex chamber. Also, exhaust gas and fuel consumption were measured at the same time. Simultaneous reduction of NOx and soot was achieved at complex chamber regardless of concentration of low cetane fuel. However, according as concentration of low cetane fuel was increased, THC and CO was increased.

서울지역 대형연소시설에서의 질소산화물 배출계수 산정 (The Evaluation of NOx Emission Factor from Large Combustion Facilities in Seoul)

  • The emission factor of nitrogen oxides(NOx) was evaluate to clarify the characteristics of NOx emitted from seven large combustion facilities in seoul area. The emission factors of NOx at A-1 and A-2 facilities of internal combustion engine were 66.957kgNOx/ton and 20.913kgNOx/ton, respectively. The emission factor of A-1 facility was higher than that of A-2 facility even same internal combustion engine, because A-1 facility adopted SCR(selective catalystic reactor) for reduction of NOx emission factor of A-2, A-4, and A-7 power generation boiler facilities were 4.300kgNOx/ton, 2.460kgNOx/ton and 1.796kgNOx/ton, respectively. The capacity of A-2 facility was about two times than that of A-4 and A-7. These emission factors were lower than those at facilities in other areas of korea, because of using low NOx burner of power generation boiler. The emission factors of NOx at A-3 and A-6 incinerator facilities were 0.147kgNOx/ton and 0.221kgNOx/ton which were lower than other facilities, respectively, because these facilities incinerate municipal solid waste of low heating value and uwe SCR for reducing NOx concentration.

  • 본 연구에서는 와류실식 디젤 기관에 경유-물의 유화연료 사용시 시관의 회전 속도(1500rpm)가 일정인 경우 물의 첨가량(체적비, 0~20%)과 기관의 부하(BMEP,2.1~ 7.5kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$)변화에 따른 연소실내 압력, 압력상승률 및 열발생률, 착화지연 기간, 연료 소비율 등의 연소특성과 CO, HC, NOx 및 매연의 배출능도 등 유해 배출 가스에 미치는 영향에 관하여 실험적으로 구한 것이다.

  • 선택적 촉매 환원법(SCR)은 질소산화물(NOx)을 저감하는 매우 효율적인 방법으로 알려져 있으며 발생된 질소산화물(NOx)을 질소(N2)와 수증기(H2O)로 환원시키는데 촉매 작용을 한다. 질소산화물(NOx) 저감 성능을 결정하는 요소 중 하나인 촉매는 셀 밀도가 증가하면 촉매효율이 증가하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 실습선 세계로호에 설치되어 있는 발전 기관의 배기가스 조건을 모사한 실험장치를 통하여 100CPSI(60Cell)촉매의 부하에 따른 질소산화물(NOx) 저감 성능을 확인하고 세계로호에 설치되어 있는 25.8CPSI(30Cell) 촉매의 기존 연구 자료와의 비교를 통해, 셀 밀도가 질소산화물(NOx)의 저감에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 실험용 촉매는 셀 밀도만 변화를 주었고 형태는 벌집형(honeycomb), 조성물질은 V2O5-WO3-TiO2를 동일하게 사용하여 제작하였다. 실험결과 100CPSI(60Cell) 촉매의 질소산화물(NOx) 농도 저감율은 평균적으로 88.5%이며 IMO specific NOx 배출량은 0.99g/kwh로 IMO Tier III NOx 배출기준을 만족하였다. 25.8CPSI(30Cell) 촉매의 경우, 질소산화물(NOx) 농도 저감율은 78%, IMO specific NOx 배출량은 2.00g/kwh 이었다 두 촉매의 NOx 농도 저감율과 IMO specific NOx 배출량을 비교하였을 때, 100CPSI(60Cell)촉매가 25.8CPSI(30Cell) 촉매보다, NOx 농도 저감율은 10.5% 높고 IMO specific NOx 배출량은 약 2배 적은 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 촉매의 셀 밀도를 높임으로써 효율적인 탈질효과를 기대할 수 있으며 향후 실선 테스트를 통하여 검증한다면 촉매의 부피 저감을 통한 제작 비용을 줄이고 협소한 선박 기관실을 효율적으로 사용하기 위한 실용적인 자료로서 기대된다.

  • NOx is an important air pollution material which is generated when fossil fuels are burning, NOx removal in flue gas by selective catalytic reduction was studied over various catalysts in a fixed bed continuous flow reactor. The ranges of experimental conditions were at the temperatures between $200^\circ$C and $350^\circ$C, the $NH_3/NOx$ mole ratios between 0.8 and 1.4, oxygen concentrations between 1.5% and 3% and the space velocities between 5, 000 $hr^-1$ and 12, 500 $hr^-1$. The efficiency of NOx removal in the ranges of experimental conditions was highest at the temp. of 300$^\circ$C, oxygen concentration of 2.5-2.6% and $NH_3/NOx$ mole ratios of 1.0-1.2. The catalyst with high activity for NOx removal in flue gas was found to be $MoO_3-V_2O_5/TiO_2$.

가스화 연료 연소시 단계적 연료주입 기술에 의한 질소산화물 저감 (Reduction of Nitrogen Oxide by Fuel Staged Technology on the Combustion of Gasification Fuel)

  • Coal gasification fuel has generally a lower calorific values than natural gas and also contains ammonia which is a main source of fuel NOx. Such a fuel is in need of the advanced technologies for the NOx reduction with higher combustion efficiency. Therefore fuel staged combustion was investigated for the fuel NOx control using a bench scale gas combustoi for the fuel NOx control. Parametric screening studies were performed with the variation of air ratio, retention length and reburning fuel. The NOx reduction efficiency was increased with an increase of total air ratio having optimum reburning air ratio differently, The Increased retention length of the reburning zone was preferable for NOx reduction. Hydrocarbonic reburning fuels like propane and butane were more effective for the NOx reduction efficiency than hydrogen fuel. The NOx concentration at exit was linearly increased according to the fuel-N the fuel.

코로나방전을 이용한 배기가스중의 Nox제거 (Nox reduction of exhaust gas using corona discharge)

  • In this paper, reduction characteristics of NOx gas produced from diesel engine combustion is studied by using pulse corona discharge. Nox concentration of 1900ppm (NO 1870, NO$\sub$2/ 30 ppm, N$\sub$2/ balance gas) was controlled in a fixed quantity of 280ppm, using a flow meter. Reactors are composed of cylinder type. NOx reduction rate is investigated with discharge electrode diameter[0.5,1,3,4.phi.], reactor length [130,300mm], reactor materials[Copper, Poly Vinyl Chloride] and Input voltage[DC, AC, DC Pulse square voltage]. In the result, NOx reduction rate is the best of all in copper reactor, small electrode diameter[0.5.phi.], DC pulse voltage and long reactor[300mm]. Then Teduction rate of NOx is about 93%.

  • To meet the NOx limit without a penalty of fuel consumption, urea SCR system is currently regarded as promising NOx reduction technology for diesel engines. SCR system has to achieve maximal NOx conversion in combination with minimal $NH_3$ slip. In this study, as a basic research to develop an algorithm for urea injection control, the characteristics of engine out NOx emission and behavior of NOx reduction during steady-state and transient conditions were investigated using 2L DI diesel engine. Test results show that on increasing the catalyst temperature the variations in the outlet NOx concentration are faster and maximal allowable $NH_3$ storage exponentially decreases. For change from a low to high engine load, it can be seen that a few seconds after load-step is required to reach full NOx conversion and the adsorbed amount of $NH_3$ at lower temperature desorb during the next temperature increase, causing $NH_3$ slip. Engine out NOx emission needs to be corrected because NOx emissions just after step load is lower than that of steay state condition.

플라즈마/촉매 복합 다단 반응기를 이용한 NOx 저감 (A Study on the NOx Removal in Multiple Plasma/Catalyst Combined Reactor)

  • Plasma/catalyst combined reactor was designed to overcome the limits of plasma and catalyst technologies. Optimum reductant and catalyst was selected from screening test. Experiments about the concentrations of reactant and $H_2O$ and the effect of temperature were carried out. Hydrocarbons with double bond such as propylene and so on were more reactive than any other reductants in plasma/catalyst condition. Photocatalyst, especially hombikat >$TiO_2$ with the largest surface area among the catalysts tested, showed the highest DeNOx efficiency in plasma/catalyst reaction. As the concentration of $H_2O$ increased, the removal of NO was enhanced. The increased concentration of >$O_2$ promoted the reaction of NO which was oxidized to$NO_2$.

대기중 질산화물의 이온 선택성 전극에 의한 처리 (Treatment of Nitrogen Oxides in Ambient Air using a Ion-Selective Electrode)

  • For the determination of polluant NOx in ambient air, nitrate ion-selective electrode(ISE) was made. To comparison of NOx in each method, the nitrate-ISE, NEBA, Orion electrode were used to determinee NOx in ambient air. In this work, the concentration of NOx in ambient air was average 0.06ppm. The results were good agreement with those obtained by each method within a relative error of 3%, Absorbing efficiency of nitrogen oxides in ambient air was good for Alkali solution. The determination of nitrogen oxides in ambient air using the Aliquat 336N-PVC membrane electrode was one of the useful method. The best characteristics of the Aliquat 336N-PVC me,mbrane electrode were obtained with the ion-exchanger concentration level of 6.5-9.1 percent by weight. The optimal membrane composition, was 9.09wt.% of ion-exchanger, 30.95wt.% of PVC, 60.6wt.% of plasticizer (DBP), and 0.5mm of thickness. Under the above condition, the electrode approached the Nernstian slope most closely, and the linear response ranges produced the best results.
