Software Development for Coordinates Conversion Using Open Source (개방형 라이브러리를 이용한 좌표변환 소프트웨어 개발)

  • Open source is recently much more made and distributed by on-line such as internet in various fields. Therefore, end users could rapidly develop applications needed for some purposes using minimal efforts if use open sources. But, open source must be customized for their purposes. In this paper, we developed software for coordinates conversion and compared the software with NGI Pro which is developed by National Geographic Information Institute. Consequently, it is possible for us to easily develop the coordinates conversion module and we know that the use of open source is effective to develop various applications.

A Study on Feature Classification System of Small Scale Digital Map (소축척 수치지도 지형지물 분류체계에 관한 연구)

  • National Geography Institute(NGI, National mapping agency) has been producing national basemap in automated process since middle of 1980's toward the systematic and efficient management of national land. In 1995, Korean government initiated a full-scale implementation of the National Geographic Information System(NGIS) Development Plan. Under the NGIS Development Plan, NGI began to produce digital maps in the scales of 1:1,000, 1:5,000, 1:25,000. However, digital maps of 1:250,000 or less scale, which are currently used for national land planning, were not included in NGIS Development Plan. Also, the existing laws and specifications related to digital maps of 1:250,000 or less scale are not clearly defined. Therefore this study proposed a feature classification system, which defines features that should be represented in digital map of 1:250,000 or less scale.

  • 국가지리 정보체계 (NGiS: National Geographic information Systems) 기본계획 하에서 국가수치기본도가 완성되었음에도 불구하고 교통부문에 GIS의 활용이 미흡하다. 그 이유는 기존 교통관련 S/W가 교통GIS DB를 받아들일 수 없기 때문이다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구에서는 NGIS에 기초한 교통GIS DB의 이용활성화의 일환으로 교통GIS DB와 기존 교통계획S/W와 상호 Interface할 수 있는 전환 모듈을 개발하였다. 구체적으로는 기존 GIS S/W를 활용하여 교통GIS DB와 기존 교통계획 S/W인 TRANPLAN간의 연계모듈을 개발하였다. 최종적으로는 개발한 연계모듈을 서울시 강남구, 서초구와 경기도 과천시, 용인시에 걸친 일대를 시범지역으로 적용해보았다.

The Performance Analysis for the New Architecture of DWDM Network

  • Aggregate bandwidth required by the internet is expected to be explosively increased. To meet this anticipated need, an ultra high speed internet backbone transport network, capable of supporting up to a Tbps traffic capacity, is required. this thesis examines, through computer simulation and modeling, the technological requirements and assesses the performance analysis and feasibility for implementing ultra-high speed NGI backbone transport network fabric based on WDM technology. The study results are that C/L band EDFA spectral gains for ultra high speed DWDM have been improved from 2.61dB/1.5386dB to 0.03dB/0.096dB by proposed architecture.

A Study on proper domestic external metadata standards (국내에 적합한 외부메타데이터 표준에 관한 연구)

  • The major purpose of this study was to design a external metadata which fit domestic demands of the digital maps. For designing a standard external metadata reflecting the current trends of the international organizations on standardization, a prelimenary study was made mainly concentrating on the analysis of the standards of the developed countries. For better assessing domestic needs, all the metadata related material of the National Geography Institute were collected and classified based on the NGI's workflow. The external metadata draft was made considering the results from the analysis of the existing NGI material and the draft was also cited some major cores from the ISO standards. Continuous efforts should be made in the future to update the metadata draft based on the opinions from domestic users and the technical trends of the international organizations on standardization.

A Study on the Seabed Information of the Korean Coast (우리나라 연안해역 해저정보에 관한 연구)

  • 현재 우리나라는 육역에 대한 조사와 영해관리를 위한 조사는 이루어져 있으나 연안해역에 대한 해저정보조사는 부족한 실정이다. 비록 국토지리정보원은 1976년부터 연안 해역기본도를 제작 및 배포하고 있으나 갱신주기가 매우 길며, 소축척으로 제작하여 정확도가 낮다. 따라서 해양수산행정 서비스를 위한 기초 자료가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 그리고 NGIS와 MGIS(해양수산부에서 추진하고 있는 해양 GIS사업)와의 연계를 위해 해양 분야에 대한 국가기본지리정보 D/B를 구축하여 디지털 국토 완성할 필요성이 있다. 관련법규를 조사하여 연안해역 해저정보의 조사 필요성과 타당성에 대해 법적인 근거를 마련하였고, 과거 진행되어왔던 연안관련 사업에 대한 조사를 현재 제작되거나 제작중에 있는 자료의 종류와 정확도에 대해 조사하고, 이미 제작된 자료의 문제점에 대해분석 하였다. 효과적인 연안해역 해저정보조사를 위해 우리나라 연안을 아래 그림과 같이 10개 권역으로 구분하고, 이를 다시 7.5'x 7.5'의 소구역으로 구분한 후 각 소구역의 중요도에 따라서 등급을 부여하고, 각 등급별로 IHO S-44 기준의 관측정확도를 따르도록 하였다. 또한 자료조사항목을 선정하여 중요도가 높은 조사항목에 대해 우선적으로 조사할 수 있도록 하였다. 연안해역 해저정보에 대한 조사가 이루어지면 연안 행정 업무 효율성 증대되고 긴급상황에 대처한 신속한 의사결정 가능하며, 다양한 자료의 복합적인 분석 가능할 것이다. 또한 NGIS와 MGIS를 연계하여 많은 부가가치를 창출할 수 있을 것이라 예상된다.

Multi-sensor data fusion based assessment on shield tunnel safety

  • This paper proposes an integrated safety assessment method that can take multiple sources data into consideration based on a data fusion approach. Data cleaning using the Kalman filter method (KF) was conducted first for monitoring data from each sensor. The inclination data from the four tilt sensors of the same monitoring section have been associated to synchronize in time. Secondly, the finite element method (FEM) model was established to physically correlate the external forces with various structural responses of the shield tunnel, including the measured inclination. Response surface method (RSM) was adopted to express the relationship between external forces and the structural responses. Then, the external forces were updated based on the in situ monitoring data from tilt sensors using the extended Kalman filter method (EKF). Finally, mechanics parameters of the tunnel lining were estimated based on the updated data to make an integrated safety assessment. An application example of the proposed method was presented for an urban tunnel during a nearby deep excavation with multiple source monitoring plans. The change of tunnel convergence, bolt stress and segment internal forces can also be calculated based on the real time deformation monitoring of the shield tunnel. The proposed method was verified by predicting the data using the other three sensors in the same section. The correlation among different monitoring data has been discussed before the conclusion was drawn.

A Study on Feature Classification and Data Dictionary of Digital Map (수치지도 지형지물 분류체계 개선 및 자료사전에 관한 연구)

  • Toward the systematic and efficient management of national land, National Geography Institute(NGI, National mapping agency) has been producing national basemap in automated process since middle of 1980's. Under the National Geographic Information System(NGIS) Development Plan, NGI began to produce digital maps in the scales of 1:1,000, 1:5,000, 1:25,000 since 1995. However, those of digital maps that have been generated under NGIS Development Plan need to be modified and corrected due to lack of technology and experience in making digital maps. In this context, those digital maps generated are currently in great need for improving the data dictionary. It is fully appreciated in previous research that data dictionary will be a key element far users and generators of digital maps to rectify the existing problems in digital maps as well as to maximize the application of digital maps. In this paper, we analyzed existing problems in digital maps based on previous researches and interviews with engineers in different fields of geospatial engineering. And then, the existing data dictionary has been redefined and modified. In the line of modification process, a relational matrix was established fur each topographic feature defined in the existing feature classification system. This paper presents newly proposed data dictionary which conforms to newly defined feature classification system from previous research performed by NGI.

  • 수치정사사진지도를 제작하기 위한 기반 자료로 스캐닝한 수치항공사진영상과 항공사진의 왜곡 보정을 위한 표정, DEM의 추출과 편집 및 편위 수정에 이르기까지 다양한 처리절차가 필요하다. 또한 영상과 벡티 자료의 중첩을 통해 생선한 영상지도의 편집과 지도제작 작업에는 다양한 미적 요소가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 수치항공사진 영상을 이용하여, 영상에 내포하는 기하학적 변위를 3차원 모델링 결과와 수치표고모델을 이용하여 소거하고, 수치정사사진을 제작한 후에, 1/5,000 수치지도에서 필요한 레이어와 중첩시킨 수치정사사진지도를 제작하여 그 정확도를 분석하였으며, 각 처리 단계별 문제점의 분석과 개선방안을 제시하였다.
