  • Numerical simulation for the axisymmetric body with contractive and dilative periodic motion is carried out. The present analysis shows that a propulsive force can be obtained in highly viscous fluid by the contractive and dilative motion of axisymmetric body. An axisymmetric code is developed with unstructured grid system for the simulation of complicated motion and geometry. It is validated by comparing with the results of Stokes approximation with the problem of uniform flow past a sphere in low Reynolds number($R_n$ = 1). The validated code is applied to the simulation of contractive and dilative periodic motion of body whose results are quantitatively compared with the two dimensional case. The simulation is extended to the analysis of waving surface with projecting part for finding out the difference of hydrodynamics performance according to variation of waving surface configuration. The present study will be the basic research for the development of the propulsor of an axisymmetric micro-hydro-machine.

  • In this study, we used the 3D simulation program to create bodice patterns for adolescents boy students and analyze the fitting and air gap through 3D simulation. The purpose of this study was to select the bodice pattern method that best suited the body shapes of the adolescents male students. The subjects of this study were the French E pattern, Japanese N pattern, and Korean industrial L and J patterns. The applied size was the sixth Korean human body size survey data of 2010 Korea. The age range of the subjects was 13-18 years. DC Suite Program Ver. 5.1 was used, and SPSS 23.0 program was used for data analysis. As a result of comparing the shapes of the bodice patterns in the 3D simulation program, the E pattern had two waist darts on the front and one shoulder dart and one waist dart on the back, and the J and L patterns only had one dart on the back. The N pattern had no darts on either the front or back. As a result of examining the appearance evaluation of the pattern, air gap, color distribution, and clothing cross-section, the E pattern was evaluated as the closest to the body, and the N pattern was evaluated as the pattern with the largest allowance. The J pattern was evaluated as the best fit for body shape of the male adolescents. However, it is necessary to develop a pattern system by adding extra ease in setting the center front length.

  • In this study, we identify the structural dynamic characteristics of the rigid body suspension system of waching machine containing rotating system, and consider the methods for the reduction of noise and vibration due to the structural problems. The structural dynamic characteristics of the suspension system have been studied by the computer simulation, in which the commercial software package, "DYMES(Dynamics of Mechanical System)" is used. The behaviour of the supporter by the rotating system has been parametrically studied by computer simulation, and the force and torque which are transferred to the fixed body through the suspension bar also has been calculated. The possibility to decide the position and the stability of the rigid body suspension system for waching machine is demonstrated based on various simulation results.n results.

  • A CFD simulation technique has been developed to handle the unsteady body motion with large amplitude by use of overlapping multi-block grid system. The three-dimensional, viscous and incompressible flow around body is investigated by solving the Navier-Stokes equations, and the motion of body is represented by moving effect of the grid system. Composite grid system is employed in order to deal with both the body motion with large amplitude and the condition of numerical wave maker in convenience at the same time. The governing equations, Navier-Stokes (N-S) and continuity equations, are discretized by a finite volume method, in the framework of an O-H type boundary-fitted grid system (inner grid system including test model) and a rectangular grid system (outer grid system including simulation equipments for generation of wave environments). If this study, several flow configurations, such as an oscillating cylinder with large KC number, are studied in order to predict and evaluate the hydrodynamic forces. Furthermore, the motion simulation of a Series 60 model advancing in a uniform flow under the condition of enforced roll motion of angle 20$^{\circ}$ is performed in the developed numerical wave tank.

  • The conventional and new forming processes of a steel shell body are analyzed by the rigid-plastic finite element method. The conventional process contains five forming stages such as bending, drawing, ironing, heading and sizing, which was designed by a forming equipment expert. The results of simulation of the conventional forming process are summarized in terms of deformation patterns and load-stroke relationships for each forming operation. Based on the simulation results of the current five-stage, the shell body forming Process including backward extrusion is designed for improving the conventional process sequence. Forming loads of the proposed process are within the limit value, which is proposed by experts and the proposed process is found to be proper for manufacturing steel shell body.

  • PMDSPH is a combined 3D particle-mesh and SPH code aimed to simulate the self-consistent dynamical evolution of spiral galaxies including live stellar and collisionless dark matter components, as well as an isothermal gas component. This paper describes some aspects of this code and shows how its application to the Milky Way helps to recover the gas flow within the Galactic bar region from the observed HI and CO longitude-velocity distributions.

  • In this paper, an efficient modeling method of wind turbine system is proposed using multi-body dynamics. This method is based on representing a wind turbine system as a multi-body system with several rigid bodies. Also, simulation software WINSIM is developed to evaluate performance of wind turbine system. Simulation results show that proposed modeling method and simulation software is efficient and reliable

  • To understand the effect of the initial rotation for tidally bounded clusters with mass spectrum, we performed N-body simulations for the clusters with different degrees of initial rotation and compared to Fokker-Planck results. We confirmed that the cluster evolution is accelerated by the initial rotation as well as the mass spectrum. For the slowly rotating models, the time evolution of mass, energy and angular momentum show good agreements between N-body and Fokker-Planck calculations. On the other hand, for the rapidly rotating models, there are significant differences between two approaches at the beginning of the evolution. By investigating cluster shapes, we concluded that these differences are mainly due to secular instability that takes place for very rapidly rotating clusters. The shape of cluster for N-body simulations becomes tri-axial or even prolate, while the 2-dimensional Fokker-Planck simulation can treat only oblate type axisymmetric systems. We also founded that there is the angular momentum exchange from high mass to low mass.

  • In this thesis, the breakdown voltage characteristics of silicon nanowire N-channel GAA MOSFETs were analyzed through experiments and 3-dimensional device simulation. GAA MOSFETs with the gate length of 250nm, the gate dielectrics thickness of 6nm and the channel width ranged from 400nm to 3.2um were used. The breakdown voltage was decreased with increasing gate voltage but it was increased at high gate voltage. The decrease of breakdown voltage with increasing channel width is believed due to the increased current gain of parasitic transistor, which was resulted from the increased potential in channel center through floating body effects. When the positive charge was trapped into the gate dielectrics after gate stress, the breakdown voltage was decreased due to the increased potential in channel center. When the negative charge was trapped into the gate dielectrics after gate stress, the breakdown voltage was increased due to the decreased potential in channel center. We confirmed that the measurement results were agreed with the device simulation results.
