  • In this paper, the theory of superresolution algorithms for estimation of directions of arrival of signals using eigen-structure analysis (mainly MUSIC algorithm)is described. Also, we apply MUSIC algorithm to circularly disposed antenna system, and simulate the angular resolution according to relative azimuth difference, S/N ratio, number of snapshots, so that we confirm the possibility of applications of MUSIC algorithm to sky wave in real situations.

  • In this paper, we propose a music search algorithm for automotive infotainment system. The proposed method extracts fingerprints using the high peaks based on log-spectrum of the music signal, and the extracted music fingerprints store in cloud server applying a hash value. In the cloud server, the most similar music is retrieved by comparing the user's query music with the fingerprints stored in hash table of cloud server. To evaluate the performance of the proposed music search algorithm, we measure an accuracy of the retrieved results according to various length of the query music and measure a retrieval time according to the number of stored music database in hash table.

  • This paper presents automated music story video generation technique as one of entertainment features that is equipped in multimedia system of the vehicle. The automated music story video generation is a system that automatically creates stories to accompany musics with photos stored in user's mobile phone by connecting user's mobile phone with multimedia systems in vehicles. Users watch the generated music story video at the same time. while they hear the music according to mood. The performance of the automated music story video generation is measured by accuracies of music classification, photo classification, and text-keyword extraction, and results of user's MOS-test.

  • In this paper, we studied for modified MUSIC algorithm of direction of arrival (DOA)estimation. Modified MUSIC algorithm search optimal covariance matrix using singular value decomposition and Bayes method, and desired signals are estimated by updating weight. In order to estimation of desired signals, we used sub spatial method of MUSIC algorithm. General MUSIC algorithm can estimate a desired signal in case of non-correlation signal. But, general MUSIC algorithm in case of correlation signal can not estimate a desired signals and resolution is decreased. Though simulation in case of correlation signal, we analyze to compare proposed MUSIC algorithm with general MUSIC algorithm.

  • These days there are so many music school graduates. There are also many private music education institutions. Therefor the competition in music private education market very tight. In old days people working in education music market had made big money and many parents wanted their girls and boys to learn piano and other musical instruments. However recently birth ratio in Korea has been dramatically dropped and not many parents wants their kids to learn musical instruments because of economic depression and negative music market. Eventually the size of the music education market is decreased dramatically and the competition in music education market is very hot. Therefor without the upgraded management system it is hard to expect over performance in music education market aspects. The purpose of this study was to find out what are the main factors that affect on business performance of the music education institutions. The main areas that researched in this study were success factors, reason of the start-up, and factors of management success. The research was conducted on the owners of the music education institutions. The factors that affect on the outcome of the business performance were diverse. Therefore the management of music education institutions also need the systematical analysis on the location, environmental factors, people nearby areas, differentiated market strategy and other analysis the same as corporate and business management.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between application attractiveness and loyalty to mobile music applications. The application attractiveness is operationalized into four dimensions: richness of music contents, music app design quality, music app functionality, and promotion. The hypotheses are postulated and tested using a sample of 370 student respondents from Henan Polytechnic University and Henan Institute of Technology, China. The result shows that there is a positive correlation between loyalty and three application attractiveness aspects: richness of music contents, music app design quality and music app functionality. Based on the results of this study, the research put forward constructive suggestions about improving mobile music application loyalty. Finally, several conclusions, managerial suggestions, limitations and future research are proposed.

  • People have tendency of forgetting music title, though they easily remember particular part of music. If a music search system can find the title through a part of melody, this will provide very convenient interface to users. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that enables this type of search using feature transformation function. The original music is transformed to new feature information with sequential melodies. When a melody that is a part of search music is given to the system, the music retrieval system searches the music similar to the feature information of the melody. Moreover, this transformation function can be easily extended to various music recognition systems.

  • We have reviewed the potential impact of blockchain technology on the music industry by analyzing the views of academia and the industry experts. The music industry had rapid changes from the physical market to the digital market in the past decades. The consumers download and stream music online and mobile during the digital dominant market. While streaming music has been recently growing at a fast rate, fair distribution of revenue to the artists continues to be an issue. Some industry experts believe that the issue of fair distribution of revenue to the artist may be resolved using blockchain technology, while some are skeptical about the application or the duration of impact. The blockchain may enhance speedier payment using smart contracts, provide additional revenue and promote the music if excellent fan support is achieved. The positive impact on the music industry may only be possible if there are detailed consideration of the industry and careful understanding of the customers.

  • Music therapy had been widely used in the area of psychiatry. However recently, participation of psychiatrist has been decreased, due to recent trends of emphasizing biological psychiatry and rapid effectiveness of pharmacotherapy. A 46 years old male PTSD patient was admitted to psychiatric ward. He has suffered from PTSD symptoms, such as intrusive distressing recollection of his past traffic accident, social avoidance, insomnia and depression. Music therapy, which is conducted by a psychiatrist and a music therapist, was applied. This case suggests the positive role of music therapy in treatment of PTSD and emphasizes the importance of participation of psychiatrist, as an organizer during music therapy.
