  • The goal of this study is to analysis natural frequency for different static postures of human leg. To perform this research human leg is modeled by multi-body modeling for the musculoskeletal system. This leg model has biarticular muscles which acting on two joints and the muscles represents some of the major muscles, such as hamstring, of the upper and lower limbs. To obtain each static equilibrium position energy method is employed and to analysis natural frequency linearization method for constrained mechanical system is employed. Static equilibrium position depends on some parameter or condition such as hamstring stiffness or external force. Making a change these parameter the aim of this research can be performed.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relative effectiveness of immediate feedback and informational prompt on safe sitting behaviors that may cause VDT syndromes. Participants were three white color workers and an ABCB within-subject design was adopted. Safety Posture System was developed specifically for the present study. The system could detect participants' unsafe sitting postures using sensors and provide feedback and prompt on the computer monitors. The results indicated that both immediate feedback and informational prompt considerably increased safe sitting behaviors. More importantly, the immediate feedback was more effective than the informational prompt in increasing safe sitting behaviors.

  • As a part of environmental pollution prevention and resources recycling, the regeneration of waste tire has been largely contributed to national industry. But, the worker has been evaded this regeneration process by reason of the best mischievous process condition among 3D industries. So, the first, the process condition of regenerating waste tire was analyzed. The second, the equipment or system was developed for the improvement of working strength and environment. The last, researchers intend to solve these problems

  • Spinal injuries are common these days and are increasing due to the increasing sports activities, auto-related accidents, and occupational incidences. Most of spinal injuries of strain and sprain are associated with trauma and resulted in loss of optimal musculoskeletal system in spinal column area. Some of these injuries requires surgical treatments. Fortunately, some people with spinal disorder are achieving outstanding results with the chiropractic care which utilizes muscle stimulation and strengthening, traction therapy, and spinal adjustments. These treatments using chiropractic table can ease pain by restoring alignment, improving mobility, and relieving pain and stiffness in neck and spinal areas. The purpose of this study was thus to gather the comprehensive information about spinal injuries, to define the specific dimensions, and to recommend functions of chiropractic table specially suited for Korean. This study was an integrated approach in applying the concepts of biomechanical correction of the musculoskeletal system. Also, this study was to utilize a knowledge of physics, ergonomics, and rehabilitation to the development of spine cure medicine.

  • The objective of this study is to develop a new system that is simpler to be used to keep the safe workplace at the small food manufacturers which employees less than 10 persons. The number of these small food manufacturers is 13,853 and account for almost 80% of all food manufacturers. Most of these companies do not pay attention to safety and thus keep high accident potential. It is very important to persuade these companies to manage safety but they can hardly handle the complicated requirements of safety, health, quality, food quality, and musculoskeletal disorders intervention. This system is intended to develop a system which can be easily implemented but comprehensive to reflect main points in safety management, musculoskeletal disorders intervention,. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, KOSHA 18001, GAP and ISO 22000.

  • This research was designed to investigate biomechanical aspects of the evolution based on the hypothesis of dynamic cooperative interactions between the locomotion pattern and the body shape in the evolution of human bipedal walking The musculoskeletal model used in the computer simulation consisted of 12 rigid segments and 26 muscles. The nervous system was represented by 18 rhythmic pattern generators. The genetic algorithm was employed based on the natural selection theory to represent the evolutionary mechanism. Evolutionary strategy was assumed to minimize the cost function that is weighted sum of the energy consumption, the muscular fatigue and the load on the skeletal system. The simulation results showed that repeated manipulations of the genetic algorithm resulted in the change of body shape and locomotion pattern from those of chimpanzee to those of human. It was suggested that improving locomotive efficiency and the load on the musculoskeletal system are feasible factors driving the evolution of the human body shape and the bipedal locomotion pattern. The hypothetical evolution method employed in this study can be a new powerful tool for investigation of the evolution process.

  • We present the concept of a Medical Digital Twin (MDT) that can predict and analyze medical diseases using computer simulations and introduce a dynamic virtual body capture system to create it. The MDT is a technology that creates a 3D digital virtual human body by reflecting individual medical and biometric information. The virtual human body is composed of a static virtual human body that reflects an individual's internal and external information and a dynamic virtual human body that reflects his motion. Especially we describe an early version of the dynamic virtual body capture system that enables continuous simulation of musculoskeletal diseases.
