  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 동적으로 발생하는 수많은 사용자나 환경에 대한 정보를 수집하여 적합한 서비스를 사용자에게 제공해야 한다. 이러한 유비쿼터스 환경을 워크플로우 형태로 기술할 수 있는 uWDL 을 이용하여 동적으로 변화하는 환경의 각각의 사용자에게 적합한 서비스를 제공하기에 한계가 있다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 본 논문에서는 다중 시나리오를 지원하기 위한 방법인 멀티플로우와 서브플로우를 시나리오에 적용하여 해결 방안을 제시한다.

Design of a Fully Reconfigurable Multi-Constellation and Multi-Frequency GNSS Signal Generator

  • This paper presents a multi-frequency and multi-constellation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal generator that simulates intermediate frequency level digital signal samples for testing GNSS receivers. GNSS signal generators are ideally suited for testing the performance of GNSS receivers and algorithms under development in the laboratory for specific user locations and environments. The proposed GNSS signal generator features a fully-reconfigurable structure with the ability to adjust signal parameters, which is beneficial to generate desired signal characteristics for multiple scenarios including multi-constellation and frequencies. Successful signal acquisition, tracking, and navigation are demonstrated on a verified Software Defined Radio (SDR) in this study. This work has implications for future studies and advances the research and development of new GNSS signals.

  • This paper proposes an EMPC (Explicit Model Predictive Controller) for temperature tracking control based on heat load prediction by an ESO (Extended State Observer) for a variable cooling circulation system with multiple indoor units connected to one outdoor unit. In this system, heat transfer and heat loss relative to the input temperature are modeled using system dynamics. Using this model, we design an EMPC based on an ESO that is robust to temperature changes and depends on airflow. To determine the stability of both the controller and the observer, asymptotic stability is verified through Lyapunov stability analysis. Finally, to validate the performance of the proposed controller, simulations are conducted under three scenarios with varying airflow, set temperature, and heat load.

New Tree Routing Protocol with Adaptive Metrics Based on Hop Count

  • In wireless sensor networks, the implementation of routing protocols is crucial owing to their limited computational capacities. Tree routing is a suitable method in wireless sensors owing to its minimal routing overhead. However, single-hop metric schemes, such as hop count, cause congestion at specific nodes, whereas multiple metric schemes cannot control dynamically changing network environments. To address these issues, we propose a scheme to implement enhanced tree routing with adaptive metrics based on hop count. This approach assigns different weights to metrics to select suitable parent nodes based on hop count. The parent-selection algorithm utilizes hop count, buffer occupancy, and received signal strength indicator (RSSI) as metrics. This study evaluates the performance through simulation scenarios to analyze whether improvements can be made to address problems encountered in traditional tree routing. The performance metrics include packet delivery speed, throughput, and end-to-end delay, which vary depending on the volume of network traffic.

  • This paper deals with reconfigurable secured mobile systems where the reconfigurability has the potential of providing a required adaptability to change the system requirements. The reconfiguration scenario is presented as a run-time automatic operation which allows security mechanisms and the addition-removal-update of software tasks. In particular, there is a definite requirement for filtering and intrusion detection mechanisms that will use fewer resources and also that will improve the security on the secured mobile devices. Filtering methods are used to control incoming traffic and messages, whereas, detection methods are used to detect malware events. Nevertheless, when different reconfiguration scenarios are applied at run-time, new security threats will be emerged against those systems which need to support multiple security objectives: Confidentiality, integrity and availability. We propose in this paper a new approach that efficiently detects threats after reconfigurable scenarios and which is based on filtering and intrusion detection methods. The paper's contribution is applied to Android where the evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed middleware in order to detect the malicious events on reconfigurable secured mobile systems and the feasibility of running and executing such a system with the proposed solutions.

Damage detection in truss structures using a flexibility based approach with noise influence consideration

  • The damage detection process may appear difficult to be implemented for truss structures because not all degrees of freedom in the numerical model can be experimentally measured. In this context, the damage locating vector (DLV) method, introduced by Bernal (2002), is a useful approach because it is effective when operating with an arbitrary number of sensors, a truncated modal basis and multiple damage scenarios, while keeping the calculation in a low level. In addition, the present paper also evaluates the noise influence on the accuracy of the DLV method. In order to verify the DLV behavior under different damages intensities and, mainly, in presence of measurement noise, a parametric study had been carried out. Different excitations as well as damage scenarios are numerically tested in a continuous Warren truss structure subjected to five noise levels with a set of limited measurement sensors. Besides this, it is proposed another way to determine the damage locating vectors in the DLV procedure. The idea is to contribute with an alternative option to solve the problem with a more widespread algebraic method. The original formulation via singular value decomposition (SVD) is replaced by a common solution of an eigenvector-eigenvalue problem. The final results show that the DLV method, enhanced with the alternative solution proposed in this paper, was able to correctly locate the damaged bars, using an output-only system identification procedure, even considering small intensities of damage and moderate noise levels.

Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Hydrology and Snowmelt by Applying RCP Scenarios using SWAT Model for Hanriver Watersheds (SWAT 모델링을 이용한 한강유역의 RCP 시나리오에 따른 미래수문 및 융설 영향평가)

  • The objective of this study is to assess the impact of potential climate change on the hydrological components, especially on the streamflow, evapotranspiration and snowmelt, by using the Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) for 17 Hanriver middle watersheds of South Korea. For future assessment, the SWAT model was calibrated in multiple sites using 4 years (2006-2009) and validated by using 2 years (2010-2011) daily observed data. For the model validation, the Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency (NSE) for streamflow were 0.30-0.75. By applying the future scenarios predicted five future time periods Baseline (1992-2011), 2040s (2021-2040), 2060s (2041-2060), 2080s (2061-2080) and 2100s (2081-2100) to SWAT model, the 17 middle watersheds hydrological components of evapotranspiration, streamflow and snowmelt were evaluated. For the future precipitation and temperature of RCP 4.5 scenario increased 41.7 mm (2100s), $+3^{\circ}C$ conditions, the future streamflow showed +32.5 % (2040s), +24.8 % (2060s), +50.5 % (2080s) and +55.0 % (2100s). For the precipitation and temperature of RCP 8.5 scenario increased 63.9 mm (2100s), $+5.8^{\circ}C$ conditions, the future streamflow showed +35.5 % (2040s), +68.9 % (2060s), +58.0 % (2080s) and +63.6 % (2100s). To determine the impact on snowmelt for Hanriver middle watersheds, snowmelt parameters of SWAT model were determined through evaluating observed streamflow data during snowmelt periods (November-April). The results showed that average SMR (snowmelt / runoff) of 17 Hanriver middle watersheds was 62.0 % (Baseline). The annual average SMR were 42.0 % (2040s), 39.8 % (2060s), 29.4 % (2080s) and 27.9 % (2100s) by applying RCP 4.5 scenario. Also, the annual average SMR by applying RCP 8.5 scenario were 40.1 % (2040s), 29.4 % (2060s), 18.3 % (2080s) and 12.7 % (2100s).

Potential Safety Benefit Analysis of Cooperative Driver Assistance Systems Via Vehicle-to-vehicle Communications (협력형 차량 안전 시스템의 잠재적 안전 효과 분석 연구)

  • In this paper, a methodology to analyze the potential safe benefit of six cooperative driver assistance systems via V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) communications is proposed. Although it is quite necessary to assess social impact with respect to new safety technologies for cooperative vehicles with V2V communications, there are few studies in Korea to predict the quantitative safety benefit analysis. In this study, traffic accident scenarios are classified based on traffic fatality between passenger cars. The sequential collision type is classified for a multiple pile-up with respect to collision direction such as forward, side, head-on collisions. Then movement of surrounding vehicle is considered for the scenario classification. Next, the cooperative driver assistance systems such as forward collision warning, blind spot detection, and intersection movement assistance are related with the corresponding accident scenarios. Finally, it is summarized how much traffic fatality may be reduced potentially due to the V2V communication based safety services.

Re-evaluation of comprehensive flood management plan for the Yeongsan river basin using Robust Decision Making (로버스트 의사결정을 이용한 영산강유역 종합치수계획 재평가)

  • This research adopted a Robust Decision Making framework to re-evaluate four alternative strategies proposed by the Comprehensive Flood Management Plan for the Yeongsan River Basin report (MLTM, 2005) considering uncertainties of future floods under condition of climate change. To reflect the uncertainties, multiple sets of future flood scenarios were used with three uncertainty factors: the change in rainfall intensity based on the RCP climate change scenarios and the changes in the temporal and the spatial flood distributions. With combinations of these factors, 216 plausible flood scenario sets were generated and the performances of the four alternatives under different future states were evaluated. From the results, the most robust alternative among the strategies was identified. Moreover, the key factors which made the tested alternatives poor were discovered through assessment of the uncertainty factors. This information can provide detailed insights to decision makers and can be utilized to overcome alternatives' potential vulnerabilities by modifying the strategy to be more robust.

Modeling message dissemination over multi-channel social network (다중 채널 소셜 네트워크상의 메시지 전송 모델링)

  • In these days, along with the extreme popularity of online social network services, it becomes an important problem understanding the role of social network in the research of message dissemination. Past studies of message dissemination over online social network services mostly consider the coverage of message dissemination and the methods to maximize it. But, these works lack of the consideration of the impact of multi channel social network, which has multiple communication channel with distinct properties of message transfer and various users with distinct channel preferences. In this paper, the new message dissemination model over multi-modal multi-channel social network, the Delay Weighted Independent Cascade Model, is proposed. The proposed model considers various channels including online social network service, email, SMS messaging, phone and mouth-to-mouth and their distinct message transfer properties. In order to consider the various user properties, the different value of probability of forwarding a message and the different preference of communication channel is considered. Moreover, the proposed model considers the distribution of user location and allows to analyze the properties of message dissemination under various scenarios. Based on the proposed model, a message dissemination simulator is generated and the message disseminations on various scenarios are analyzed.
