  • FH system is very robust to the jamming interference. OFDM system is very good for the high speed communication system. But, it has high PAPR. SC-FDMA system based on OFT-spread OFDM was proposed to reduce high PAPR. Therefore, in this paper, we like to introduce the FH system into SC-FDMA system, which can be best solution to the jamming hostile environment and for the high power efficiency. Also, OFDM is very sensitive to ICI. Especially, ICI generated by frequency offset and phase noise breaks the orthogonality among sub-carriers, which seriously degrades the system performance. We analyze the performance of the FH SC-FDMA system in the PBJ and MTJ channel. In this paper, the ICI effects caused by phase noise, frequency offset and Doppler effects are analyzed and we like to propose the PNFS algorithm in the equalizer to compensate the ICI influences. Through the computer simulations, we can confirm the performance improvement.

  • In large-type goats that were fed on dry forage twice daily, dry forage intake was markedly suppressed after 40 min of feeding had elapsed. The objective of this study was to determine whether or not marked decreases in dry forage intake after 40 min of feeding are mainly caused by the two factors, that is, ruminal distension and increased plasma osmolality induced thirst produced by dry forage feeding. Six large-type male esophageal- and ruminal-fistulated goats (crossbred Japanese Saanen/Nubian, aged 2 to 6 years, weighing $85.1{\pm}4.89kg$) were used in two experiments. The animals were fed ad libitum a diet of roughly crushed alfalfa hay cubes for 2 h from 10:00 to 12:00 am during two experiments. Water was withheld during feeding in both experiments but was available for a period of 30 min after completion of the 2 h feeding period. In experiment 1, saliva lost via the esophageal fistula was replenished by an intraruminal infusion of artificial parotid saliva (RIAPS) in sham feeding conditions (SFC) control, and the treatment was maintained under normal feeding conditions (NFC). In experiment 2, a RIAPS and non-insertion of a balloon (RIAPS-NB) control was conducted in the same manner as the SFC control of experiment 1. The intraruminal infusion of hypertonic solution and insertion of a balloon (RIHS-IB) treatment was carried out simultaneously to reproduce the effects of changing salt content and ruminal distension due to feed entering the rumen. The results of experiment 1 showed that due to the effects of multiple dry forage suppressing factors when feed boluses entered the rumen, eating rates in the NFC treatment decreased (p<0.05) after 40 min of feeding and cumulative dry forage intake for the 2 h feeding period reduced to 43.8% of the SFC control (p<0.01). The results of experiment 2 indicated that due to the two suppressing factors of ruminal distension and increased plasma osmolality induced thirst, eating rates in the RIHS-IB treatment were, as observed under NFC, reduced (p<0.05) and cumulative dry forage intake for the 2 h feeding period decreased to 34.0% of the RIAPS-NB control (p<0.01). The combined effects of ruminal distension and increased plasma osmolality accounted for 77.5% of the suppression of dry forage intake 40 min after the start of dry forage feeding. The results indicate that ruminal distension and increased plasma osmolality induced thirst are the main factors in the suppression of dry forage intake in large-type goats.

  • Multi-Response Surface Optimization aims at finding the optimal setting of input variables considering multiple responses simultaneously. The Weighted Mean Squared Error (WMSE) minimization approach, which imposes a different weight on the two components of mean squared error, squared bias and variance, first obtains WMSE for each response and then minimizes all the WMSEs at once. Most of the methods proposed for the WMSE minimization approach to date are classified into the prior preference articulation approach, which requires that a decision maker (DM) provides his/her preference information a priori. However, it is quite difficult for the DM to provide such information in advance, because he/she cannot experience the relationships or conflicts among the responses. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a posterior preference articulation method to the WMSE minimization approach. The proposed method first generates all (or most) of the nondominated solutions without the DM's preference information. Then, the DM selects the best one from the set of nondominated solutions a posteriori. Its advantage is that it provides an opportunity for the DM to understand the tradeoffs in the entire set of nondominated solutions and effectively obtains the most preferred solution suitable for his/her preference structure.

  • Hard disks have been the most prevalent secondary storage devices and these days their usage is becoming more important in mobile computing systems due to I/O intensive applications such as multimedia applications and games. However, significant power consumption in the disk drives still limits battery lifetimes of mobile systems critically. In this paper, we show that using several smaller disks (instead of one large disk) can be an energy-efficient secondary storage solution on typical mobile platforms without a significant performance delay. Also, we propose a novel energy-efficient technique, which clusters related data into groups and migrates the correlated groups to the same disk. We compare this method with the existing data concentration scheme, and also combine them. The experiments show that our technique saves the energy consumption up to 34% when a pair of 1.8' disks is used instead of a single 2.5' disk with a negligible increase in the average response time. The results also show that our method also saves up to 14.8% of disk energy consumption and improve the average I/O response time by up to 10 times over the existing scheme.

  • Objectives: Sanjointang has been clinically used much for treating sleeplessness. However, the effects of Sanjointang in artificial sleep deprivation situations are not known. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the heart rate, left ventricular systolic pressure, left ventricular diastolic pressure, +dp/dt maximum, -dp/dt maximum, and -dp/dt / +dp/dt ratio which are related to the hemodynamic functions of the heart by using sleep-deprived Sparague-Dawley rats, in order to clarify the impact of Sanjointang on hemodynamic functions of the heart of sleep deprived rats. Methods: Eighteen hearts were removed from the male Sparague-Dawley rats weighting about 180g were perfused by the Langendorff technique with modified 37 Krebs-Henseleit's buffer solution at a constant perfusion pressure (60mmHg). They were randomly assigned to one of the following three groups, 1) Normal group (those which did not have sleep deprivation and received normal saline administration), 2) Control group (sleep deprived and normal saline administered), 3) Sample group (sleep deprived and Sanjointang was administered). Control and sample groups rats were deprived 96 hours of sleep by using the modified multiple platform technique. Heart rate, left ventricular systolic pressure, left ventricular diastolic pressure, +dp/dt maximum, -dp/dt maximum, -dp/dt / +dp/dt ratio were evaluated at baseline after the administration of either normal saline or Sanjointang. Results: The heart rate and -dp/dt / +dp/dt ratio was significantly decreased in rats with 96 hours of sleep deprived significantly decreased. The change in the heart rate after administering Sanjointang did not show any significant difference. The left ventricular systolic pressure of the removed heart significantly decreased due to Sanjointang administration, while the left ventricular diastolic pressure significantly increased (p<0.05). The +dp/dt maximum and -dp/dt maximum both significantly decreased in the removed heart after administering Sanjointang. (p<0.05). There was no significant difference observed in the -dp/dt / +dp/dt ratio after administering Sanjointang. Conclusions: According to the results above, sleep deprivation significantly decreases heart rate and -dp/dt / +dp/dt ratio. This is considered as a result of exhaustion due to accumulation of fatigue. Meanwhile, Sanjointang reduced left ventricular systolic pressure and raised left ventricular diastolic pressure, and relieved the contractility and relaxation of the myocardium. Consequently, this reduces the burden of the heart and creates a relatively stabilized heart condition similar to a sleeping condition.

  • Most golfers believe that knowing yardages will improve their score. Certainly it helps with club selection. But, simple "Graphic" yardage guides being notorious for error and inaccuracies, which a serious golfer will pick immediately, only serve to erode the players enjoyment and ultimately, golf course satisfaction. Someone believes with low-level aerial photographic images, golfer will be impressed with the accuracy of the depiction, helping them play a more confident game. But, there are no mapping products in true 3-D available in the world that allows a golfer to determine shot distances in yards or meters. So, we suggest an lenticular technology for real 3-D display as a viable alternative to conventional image map solution. This technology is an image display method for the generation of multi-image effects like 3D visualization or animation. This methodology is cutting edge stereoscopic image which overcomes the limitation of conventional photo tech by recomposing and producing 3 dimensional images. A significant strength of this methods its versatility concerning display effects. The main use of the hardcopy 3-D lenticular displays is in the fields of science, education, planning, and representation. This paper gives a concise overview of the lenticular foil technology and describes the production of the true 3-D yardage book of golf courses. For this study, 3-D effects are achieved and evaluated with the lenticular display by incorporation multiple synthetic images based on digital topographic terrain model and by using the two images of the actual stereopair.

  • Painterly animation is a method that expresses painterly images with a hand-painted appearance from a video, and the most crucial element for it is the temporal coherence of brush strokes between frames. A motion map is proposed in this paper as a solution to the issue of maintaining the temporal coherence in the brush strokes between the frames. A motion map is the region that frame-to-frame motions have occurred. Namely, this map refers to the region frame-to-frame edges move by the motion information with the motion occurred edges as a starting point. In this paper, we employ the optical flow method and block-based method to estimate the motion information. The method that yielded the biggest PSNR using the motion information (the directions and magnitudes) acquired by various methods of motion estimation has been chosen as the final motion information to form a motion map. The created motion map determine the part of the frame that should be re-painted. In order to express painterly images with a hand- painted appearance and maintain the temporal coherence of brush strokes, the motion information was applied to only the strong edges that determine the directions of the brush strokes. Also, this paper seek to reduce the flickering phenomenon between the frames by using the multiple exposure method and the difference map created by the difference between images of the source and the canvas. Maintenance of the coherence in the direction of the brush strokes was also attempted by a local gradient interpolation to maintain the structural coherence.
