In this paper, we address the problem of how to replace huffers in multimedia database systems with time-varying skewed data access. The access pattern in the multimedia database system to support audio-on-demand and video-on-demand services is generally skewed with a few popular objects. In addition the access pattem of the skewed objects has a time-varying property. In such situations, our analysis indicates that conventional LRU(least Recently Used) and LFU(Least Frequently Used) schemes for buffer replacement algorithm(ABRN:Adaptive Buffer Replacement using Neural suited. We propose a new buffer replacement algorithm(ABRN:Adaptive Buffer Replacement using Neural Networks)using a neural network for multimedia database systems with time-varying skewed data access. The major role of our neural network classifies multimedia objects into two classes:a hot set frequently accessed with great popularity and a cold set randomly accessed with low populsrity. For the classification, the inter-arrival time values of sample objects are employed to train the neural network.Our algorithm partitions buffers into two regions to combine the best roperties of LRU and LFU.One region, which contains the 핫셋 objects, is managed by LFU replacement and the other region , which contains the cold set objects , is managed by LRUreplacement.We performed simulation experiments in an actual environment with time-varying skewed data accsee to compare our algorithm to LRU, LFU, and LRU-k which is a variation of LRU. Simulation resuults indicate that our proposed algorthm provides better performance as compared to the other algorithms. Good performance of the neural network-based replacement scheme means that this new approach can be also suited as an alternative to the existing page replacement and prefetching algorithms in virtual memory systems.

본 연구는 국내 해양전문정보센터에서 효율적인 정보서비스를 위해 필요한 멀티미디어 메타데이터베이스와 디지털도서관 통합정보시스템을 구현할 목적으로 선행연구를 조사하고 분석하였다. 연구대상자원은 해양분야의 인쇄매체, 네트워크자원, 원문화일, 동영상 등을 범위로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 인쇄매체를 포함한 각종 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 자원의 기술과 조직을 위해 LC표준으로 사용하고 있는 MODS를 기반으로 하여 통합정보검색서비스를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 해양분야 각종 정보자원 조사, 멀티미디어 정보처리, MODS 등 메타데이터 기술요소 분석, 메타데이터 분류체계, 시스템 구성 및 검색 구현방안의 연구를 수행하였다.

본 연구에서는 딸림자료 중 특히, 오디오 테이프 형태의 자료를 디지털화하여 멀티미디어 데이터베이스를 구축함으로써 이용자의 이용편의와 자료관리의 효율성을 제고하는 것에 대한 방안에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 딸림자료의 관리현황, 오디오 데이터 포맷의 종류, 데이터 포맷변환, 관리 및 이용방안 등을 살펴보았다. 또한, 딸림자료의 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 구축을 통한 기대효과 및 문제점을 제시하였다.

In order to develop ECM system, there are a number of methodologies. Adopting Microsoft's solution and methodology is one of them. ECM has a large number of users to save the documentations in various types of multimedia data. So, managing multimedia database is very critical in ECM. Therefore the unit and integration test to evaluate the performance can detect the flaws of the system early on, and it has to be enables to reflect the user's requirements thru the user acceptance test. In this paper, we are discussing how to optimize the SQL database before the ECM system is built and used in the real situation thru unit and integration tests.

본 논문은 XML스키마 문서에서 정의된 컴포넌트 요소들의 타입-엘리먼트 복합 계층 구조와 타입 계층 구조를 그래피컬하게 파악할 수 있는 XML 스키마 브라우저를 구현한 것이다. XML 스키마 브라우저의 설계 및 구현 방법을 제안하고, 그 기능을 서술한다. 구현된 XML 스키마 브라우저를 사용함으로써 복잡한 XML 스키마 문서의 구조를 한눈에 쉽고 정확하게 파악할 수 있다.

본 논문은 MPEG-7 BiM 규격에 따라 XML 스키마 정의를 기반으로 바이너리 형태로 압축하고 복원하는 시스템의 구현에 관한 것이다. MPEG-7 BiM 압축기 및 복원기의 세부 모듈과 기능을 서술하고, 설계 및 구현방법을 제안한다. 구현된 MPEG-7 BiM 압축기 및 복원기는 대역폭의 제약이 심한 방송 분야에서 메타데이터 전송을 위한 핵심 모듈로 사용 될 수 있다.

It gives to users a difficulty for searching between this huge numbers of programs. Searching the best applications for our needs is a big challenge today. In this paper, we propose a study on collaborative filtering based app recommendation system. The proposed method is composed of three steps. In the first step, we extract the data set from the target website. In the second step, we parse the extracted raw data according to the types, and store in a database. In the third, we perform recommendations based on the stored data in database.
