최근 모바일 장치에서의 멀티미디어 응용은 무선 인터넷의 급속한 발전으로 점점 증가하고 있다. 특히, 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 대용량의 응용은 모바일 환경에서 점점 더 증가하고 있다. MPEG-7은 다양한 타입을 이용하여 멀티미디어 데이터를 검색할 수 있다. 그러나 멀티미디어의 제한된 용량으로 MPEG-7은 데스크 탑 컴퓨터시스템에서만 제한적으로 사용되고 있다. 따라서. 모바일 환경에서의 멀티미디어 데이터의 대용량 관리는 매우 중요한 연구 대상이 되고 있으며 이를 위한 클라이언트-서버 환경에서의 멀티미디어 데이터 관리를 위한 MPEG-7 기반의 내장형 데이터베이스 관리 시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 데이터의 특성을 반영한 MPEG-7 데이터 클러스터링 방법을 제안한다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 PDA과 같은 모바일 장치에서 MPEG-7 스킴 기반의 내장형 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 관리 시스템을 개발한다.

Robots which detect human and recognize action are important factors for human interaction, and many researches have been conducted. Recently, deep learning technology has developed and learning based robot's technology is a major research area. These studies require a database to learn and evaluate for intelligent human perception. In this paper, we propose a multi-modal sensor-based image database condition considering the security task by analyzing the image database to detect the person in the outdoor environment and to recognize the behavior during the running of the robot.

하이퍼미디어 응용에 나타나는 다양한 형태의 멀티미디어 데이타와 이들 사이의 동기화 등을 지원하기 위해 하이퍼미디어 전자 문서의 기술 표준인 HyTime(Hypermedia/Time-based Structuring Language)이 사용되고 있다. 그런데 이러한 HyTime 문서를 효과적으로 관리하기 위해서는 HyTime문서의 논리적 구조 정보를 체계적으로 데이타베이스에 저장하여 여러 사용자가 공유할 수 있도록 관리할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 하이퍼미디어 문서의 논리적인 구조를 정의하는 HyTime DTD(Document Type Definition)를 객체 지향 데이타베이스에서 체계적으로 관리하기 위해 메타 데이타베이스 스키마를 설계하고 이를 관리하는 방법을 기술한다.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망 환경상에서 구현될 정보시스템의 이론적인 틀을 구성한 다음 정보시스템 모형의 일부 기능을 멀티미디어 저작 도구를 가지고 실제 구현해 보았다. 시스템 모형은 JANUS Virtual Library, The Book House등과 같은 실제 시스템들을 기초로하여 구성하였고 시스템 구현에 사용된 지식베이스는 참고사서들과의 면담을 통해 얻은 데이터를 이용하여 구축하였다. 구현된 시스템은 참고 전문가시스템, 학술지 브라우징, 멀티미디어 데이타베이스, 온라인 열람목록, 외부 데이타베이스, 이용 안내의 6개의 모듈로 구성된다. 결론에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망을 구현하기 위해서 해겨해야 할 문제점들을 제시하였다.

MPEG-7의 Standard Description을 위한 여러 가지 요소에 대한 정의가 여러 연구에서 약간의 차이를 주고 있지만 전체적인 방향은 형성되어 지고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 그 요소들에서 지능형 멀티미디어 탐색엔진에서 high level linguistic query를 처리할 수 있는 fuzzy interenced database 기능을 MPEG-7과 연계할 수 있는가를 연구하였다.

In this paper, we propose a method which allows the SuperSQL query processor to share as much code as possible among various, generators, each of which is responsible for the output of a certain medium. SuperSQL is an enhanced query-processing system that converts database records into a variety of formats such as XML, HTML, PDF and etc. However, the existing SuperSQL media generator would require creation of a different processor for each medium, causing duplicated development cost. This research makes three main contributions: First, it analyzes the structures of various media, examining any possibility of integration based on their common structure. Second, it also facilitates the addition of a new output media generator by separating constructors and decorators from each medium. Last, it provides an integrated user interface to each media by method of the Media Abstraction Table Concept. We also show the performance and feasibility of our system using experimental results.

A database is an organized collection of data, today typically in digital form. The data are typically organized to model relevant aspects of reality, in a way that supports processes requiring this information. A good database is designed for a specific use and is constructed with the possibility of growth. In this project, we collect music education data of the East Asia and try to build a database that can share the primary data based on this collection. Hence we can provide opportunity to study about Korea modern music and culture in a broader perspective. In this paper, we explore the database construction methodology for implementing on this project and we see over about data entry and management.

기존의 PC 통신 서비스가 최근 인터넷에 기반을 둔 멀티미디어 웹 서비스로 빠르게 대체됨으로 인해 과거 많은 인력과 자금을 투자하여 개발한 유용한 데이터베이스와 PC 통신 환경 상의 많은 서비스가 사용자로부터 도외시되어 사장되는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 과거 PC 통신 환경 상에서 제공되었던 텍스트 위주의 명령에 기초한 데이터베이스 서비스를 사용자의 정보 접근이 용이한 멀티미디어 웹에 기초한 데이터베이스 서비스로의 효율적 전환을 위한 구현방법 및 기술에 관해 연구하였다.

There are numerous approaches to improve the performances of database systems. The most efficient ones are considered to be implementing an effective database indexing technique. This must guarantee the balance between the memory, storage resources and processor of the database server according to the type, structure, the physical organization and the cardinality of data, the type of queries and the number of competing transactions. The challenge is to find an appropriate index type that would suite these requirements. In this paper, we provide an overview of the most used database indexing techniques such as B-tree index and Bitmap index, present an analysis of these techniques and discuss their limitations.
