  • As the computer becomes a trend, interactive multimedia design can be one media to communicate the cultural knowledge. A folktale can be a powerful material to show a country's culture. In this project, we try to make the folktale content to be understood easily by implementing some cultural information background. The main aim of this project is to give a vision of the richness culture through the interactive multimedia technology. In this paper, we would like to show a flow map content, a streaming of design process and a visual interface design prototype. Finally, interactive multimedia design content is very useful for a transferring the richness culture because people tend to like a multimedia content. In order to make an effective interactive multimedia design content based on a cultural background, a designer should need to understand about users, culture, technology and the whole design process.

  • This paper has done a study of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design education. Sino-Korean school of multimedia was set up by Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) and Korea Dongseo University in October 2002. We have created "3.5+0.5 Teaching Model". In this model, Chinese and Korea professors take courses together. Firstly, paper points our the Chinese government policy background of Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in running schools and the development of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design education in SUES. Secondly, by analyzing the multimedia design industry to understand the Chinese multi-media design education. Thirdly, paper made in-depth studies for "3.5+0.5 Teaching Model" so as to draw the experience of successes and problems. Through analysis of "Questionnaires for students' learning and living conditions in Dongseo University in 2009" by spss 16.0, paper made a research of mode of "A semester studying in Korea". Finally, paper points out the development direction of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design.

  • Multimedia systems design generally requires a collaborative effort from a group of designers with a variety of backgrounds and tasks, such as content experts, instructional designers, media specialists, users, and so forth. The fact that the designers have totally different backgrounds and tasks may hinder their collaboration. This research develops a collaborative design tool for multimedia systems design, called the Designer's Cafe, with which multimedia designers can share their design knowledge on the Web freely. Designer's Cafe consists of three intelligent agents that are designed for supporting collaboration activities of multimedia designers. The intelligent agents are implemented by using JAVA SCRIPT and COLD FUSION. By using the tool, designers create, revise, and share their knowledge/ideas in very structured ways. The structured design process might enhance the collaboration activities of designers while designing a multimedia system within a virtual working space.

  • In 21st century, with the rapid development of Information technologies, a new form of postgraduate courses on multimedia has emerged. The curriculum of that course is consisted of a combination of design related fields and computer science. In this thesis, I analyzed problems of design education come from multimedia departments of 2-year colleges. This form of departments result in the reduction of design related courses and that is also reduction of basic design rather than multimedia. But, for the desirable multimedia design education, the functional aspects of multimedia must be harmonized with the artistic aspects. For these reason, I developed a course of study on multimedia design. It consists of theoretical studies about design principles, actual training on flash application, and individual projects accomplishments. And on the basis of this results, case studies of 3 subjects were done in a semester.

  • We developed a method for optimal superframe design in the multi-frequency time division multiple access (MF-TDMA) return-link of a satellite multimedia interactive network called a digital video broadcasting return channel over satellite (DVB-RCS) sub-network. To find the optimal superframe pattern with the maximum data throughput, we formulated the design problem as a non-linear combinatorial optimization problem. We also devised the proposed simple method so that it would have field applicability for improving radio resource utilization in the MF-TDMA return link.

  • With the rapid development of digital technology, digital human character design has brought richer visual experiences and creative expressions to stage art. This thesis focuses on its unique application in stage art, exploring design and performance optimization, immersive experiences, and multimedia integration. The study shows that digital human character design enhances stage art with immediacy, interactivity, and multimedia integration, while also driving innovation in traditional stage art expressions.
