이중 편파 MIMO를 쓰는 DVB-T2 시스템의 비트 매퍼 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of a Bit Mapper of the Dual-Polarized MIMO DVB-T2 System)

  • 초고해상도의 비디오와 다채널 오디오를 통한 극사실적인 방송 서비스를 지향하는 UHDTV (Ultra-High Definition TeleVision)가 차세대 방송 표준으로 논의되고 있으나 기존의 지상파 방송 시스템의 데이터 전송률이 UHDTV 방송 서비스의 요구 전송률에 크게 미치지 못하기 때문에 새로운 지상파 방송 시스템의 개발 또는 현재 시스템의 전송률 증가에 대한 연구가 필요한 상황이다. 이를 위해 기존의 DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting-2nd generation Terrestrial) 시스템에 고차 성상 변조 및 이중 편파 안테나를 이용한 다중 입출력 시스템을 적용하여 데이터 전송량을 증가시키는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 비정규 LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) 부호를 사용하는 DVB-T2에 기반한 다중 입출력 시스템의 성능을 최적화하기 위해, 다중 입출력 시스템을 위한 최적의 비트 매퍼 설계에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 그러나 현재까지 진행되어 온 비트 매퍼 설계는 단일 입출력 시스템에 대해 국한되어 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다중 입출력 시스템의 위한 최적의 비트 매퍼를 설계하기 위한 사전 연구로, 이중 편파 다중 입출력 시스템의 VND (Variable Node Degree) 분포를 나타내는 파라미터를 새롭게 정의하고 정의된 파라미터에 따른 시스템의 수신 성능을 분석하였다.

  • This article reviews the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering during 2016. It is intended to understand the status of current research in the areas of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, and indoor environments of buildings and plant facilities. Conclusions are as follows. (1) The research works on the thermal and fluid engineering have been reviewed as groups of flow, heat and mass transfer, the reduction of pollutant exhaust gas, cooling and heating, the renewable energy system and the flow around buildings. CFD schemes were used more for all research areas. (2) Research works on heat transfer area have been reviewed in the categories of heat transfer characteristics, pool boiling and condensing heat transfer and industrial heat exchangers. Researches on heat transfer characteristics included the results of the long-term performance variation of the plate-type enthalpy exchange element made of paper, design optimization of an extruded-type cooling structure for reducing the weight of LED street lights, and hot plate welding of thermoplastic elastomer packing. In the area of pool boiling and condensing, the heat transfer characteristics of a finned-tube heat exchanger in a PCM (phase change material) thermal energy storage system, influence of flow boiling heat transfer on fouling phenomenon in nanofluids, and PCM at the simultaneous charging and discharging condition were studied. In the area of industrial heat exchangers, one-dimensional flow network model and porous-media model, and R245fa in a plate-shell heat exchanger were studied. (3) Various studies were published in the categories of refrigeration cycle, alternative refrigeration/energy system, system control. In the refrigeration cycle category, subjects include mobile cold storage heat exchanger, compressor reliability, indirect refrigeration system with $CO_2$ as secondary fluid, heat pump for fuel-cell vehicle, heat recovery from hybrid drier and heat exchangers with two-port and flat tubes. In the alternative refrigeration/energy system category, subjects include membrane module for dehumidification refrigeration, desiccant-assisted low-temperature drying, regenerative evaporative cooler and ejector-assisted multi-stage evaporation. In the system control category, subjects include multi-refrigeration system control, emergency cooling of data center and variable-speed compressor control. (4) In building mechanical system research fields, fifteenth studies were reported for achieving effective design of the mechanical systems, and also for maximizing the energy efficiency of buildings. The topics of the studies included energy performance, HVAC system, ventilation, renewable energies, etc. Proposed designs, performance tests using numerical methods and experiments provide useful information and key data which could be help for improving the energy efficiency of the buildings. (5) The field of architectural environment was mostly focused on indoor environment and building energy. The main researches of indoor environment were related to the analyses of indoor thermal environments controlled by portable cooler, the effects of outdoor wind pressure in airflow at high-rise buildings, window air tightness related to the filling piece shapes, stack effect in core type's office building and the development of a movable drawer-type light shelf with adjustable depth of the reflector. The subjects of building energy were worked on the energy consumption analysis in office building, the prediction of exit air temperature of horizontal geothermal heat exchanger, LS-SVM based modeling of hot water supply load for district heating system, the energy saving effect of ERV system using night purge control method and the effect of strengthened insulation level to the building heating and cooling load.

상시 교량 모니터링을 위한 저전력 IoT 센서 및 클라우드 기반 데이터 융합 변위 측정 기법 개발 (Development of Low-Power IoT Sensor and Cloud-Based Data Fusion Displacement Estimation Method for Ambient Bridge Monitoring)

  • 사회기반 시설물의 노후화에 대응해 이상 징후를 파악하고 유지보수를 위한 최적의 의사결정을 내리기 위해선 디지털 기반 SOC 시설물 유지관리 시스템의 개발이 필수적인데, 디지털 SOC 시스템은 장기간 구조물 계측을 위한 IoT 센서 시스템과 축적 데이터 처리를 위한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술을 요구한다. 본 연구에서는 구조물의 다물리량을 장기간 측정할 수 있는 IoT센서와 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 위한 서버 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발 IoT센서는 총 3축 가속도 및 3채널의 변형률 측정이 가능하고 24비트의 높은 해상도로 정밀한 데이터 수집을 수행한다. 또한 저전력 LTE-CAT M1 통신을 통해 데이터를 실시간으로 서버에 전송하여 별도의 중계기가 필요 없는 장점이 있다. 개발된 클라우드 서버는 센서로부터 다물리량 데이터를 수신하고 가속도, 변형률 기반 변위 융합 알고리즘을 내장하여 센서에서의 연산 없이 고성능 연산을 수행한다. 제안 방법의 검증은 2개소의 실제 교량에서 변위계와의 계측 결과 비교, 장기간 운영 테스트를 통해 이뤄졌다.

2차원 확산을 사용하는 다중전송률 MC-DS/CDMA 시스템 (Multirate Multicarrier DS/CDMA with 2-Domain Spreading)

  • 직교 주파수분할 다중(OFDM)시스템과 직접확산 코드분할다중접속(DS/CDMA)시스템이 결합된 다중반송파(MC) DS/CDMA 시스템은 대역폭 효율, 고 전송률과 페이딩에 강한 특성으로 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시간영역과 주파수영역에서 확산을 수행하는 다중전송률 MC-DS/CDMA 시스템에서 복잡성이 감소된 다중사용자 검출기를 살펴본다. 여기서 시간영역과 주파수영역의 확산부호로는 2차원 직교 가변확산부호(OVSF)로부터 만들어진 1차원 OVSF 코드를 사용한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 다중사용자간섭(MUI)을 감소시키기 위해 코드그룹 간섭제거(CGIC) 수신기를 사용하는데, 이 CGIC 수신기는 1차원 OVSF 코드들의 상관특성을 이용하여 코드 그룹이라는 개념을 사용하여 다른 사용자들의 정보 없이도 사용자 선호를 검출할 수 있는 수신기이다. CGIC를 갖는 다중사용자 검출기가 시간 및 주파수영역에 따로 또는 같이 적용될 것이다. AWGN 채널 환경 하에서 시스템의 성능을 분석하며, 단일(다중) 전송률, 다중사용자를 갖는 시간/주파수 영역에서 확산된 MC-DS/CDMA과 비교할 것이다. 이러한 결과로서 기존의 정합검출기에 비해 제안된 시스템의 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있다.

장기재원환자의 특성 및 전원 인지도와 전원 의향과의 관계 - 장기재원환자의 효율적 전원을 위한 전략 제시 - (Relationship between Characteristics of Lengthy Hospital Stay Patients, Knowledge of Transfer Needs and Their Willingness to Transfer - Strategies for the Effective Transfer of Lengthy Hospital Stay Patients -)

  • Background : It is very common in Korea to take care of non-acute patients in an acute setting, due to the lack of long-term facilities. Long term hospitalization increase medical expenses and decreases the bed utilization, which can affect the urgent and emergent admissions, and eventually jeopardize the hospital financially. In this study, strategies for effective transfers to the lower levels of care, and to decrease the length of stay were presented by surveying and analyzing the patient's knowledge of the transfer needs, and the willingness to transfer those whose hospital length of stay was more than 30days. Method : The survey is subject to a group of 251 patients who have been hospitalized over 30 days in a general hospital in Seoul. Excluding those that were in the Intensive Care Unit and psychiatric ward, 214 in-patients were used as participants. They were surveyed from April 9, 2002 to April 17, 2002. One hundred and thirty seven out of 214 were responded which made the response rate 64%. Data were analyzed by SAS and SPSS. Result : Multi-variable Logistic Regression Analysis showed a significant effect in medical expenses, knowledge of referral system and the information of the receiving hospital. The financial burden in medical expenses made the patient 10.7 times more willing to be transferred, knowledge of the referral system made them 5 times more willing to be transferred, and the information of receiving hospital makes 6.5 times more willing to be transferred. Reasons for willing to be transferred to a lower level of care were the phase of physical therapy, the distance from home, the attending physician's advice and being unable to be treated as an out patient. Reasons for refusing to be transferred were the following. The attending physician's competency, not being ready to be discharged, not trusting the receiving hospital's competency due to the lack of information, or never hearing about the referring system by the attending physician. Conclusion : Based on this, strategies for the effective transfer to the lower levels of care were suggested. It is desirable for the attending physician to be actively involved by making an effort to explain the transfer need, and referring to the Healthcare Coordinating Center, which can help the patient make the right decision. Nationwide networking for the referral system is the another key factor that may need to be suggested as an alternative to decrease the medical expenses. Collaborating with the Home Health Agency for the early discharge planning and the Social Service Department for financial aid are also needed. It is recommended that the hospital should expedite the transfer process by prioritizing the cost and the information as medical expenses, knowledge of referring system and the information of the receiving hospital, are the most important factors to the willingness to transfer to a lower level of care.

월파수류형 파력발전구조물의 상부 사면 설계변수에 따른 수력학적 효율 영향 연구 (The Effect of Hydraulic Efficiency on the Design Variables of an Overtopping Wave Energy Converter)

  • 월파된 파도를 이용한 파력발전시스템을 월파수류형 파력발전기 OWEC(Overtopping Wave Energy Converter)라고 한다. OWEC의 성능은 발전 시스템은 특성상 파도의 파고와 주기의 영향을 받는다. 파도는 해양에 따라 파고, 주기, 파도 방향 등의 특성이 다르고 이러한 파도의 다양한 특성 때문에 OWEC는 안정적인 전력을 생산하기 어렵다. 따라서 각 바다의 특성에 따른 OWEC의 적절한 형상에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) 입자법을 사용하여 OWEC의 램프 설계가 hydraulic efficiency에 미치는 영향을 확인했다. 총 10개의 모델을 설계하였으며, 선택된 매개변수에 따라 램프의 설계 파라미터를 선택하고 사면의 형상을 변경하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 해석 결과로부터 구한 유량을 기초로 hydraulic efficiency를 산출하였다. 계산된 hydraulic efficiency를 바탕으로 각 변수가 사면의 형상에 따른 월파 성능에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 특정 해역에 따른 OWEC 램프의 적절한 형상에 대한 방향을 제시하였다.

DP 알고리즘에 의한 발음사전 전처리와 문맥종속 자소별 MLP를 이용한 영어 발음사전 생성기의 개선 (Improvements of an English Pronunciation Dictionary Generator Using DP-based Lexicon Pre-processing and Context-dependent Grapheme-to-phoneme MLP)

  • 본 논문에서는 가변어휘 단어 인식기에 사용하기 위한 개선된 MLP 기반 영어 발음사전 생성기를 제안한다. 가변어휘 단어 인식기는 인식대상 도메인이 수시로 바뀌는 상황에서 현재의 인식 도메인에 의해 결정되는 임의의 한국어 어휘들에 대해 처리 할 수 있다. 이 시스템을 영어 단어에 대해서도 처리할 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 미리 정의된 사전에 포함할 수 없는 영어 고유명사와 같은 단어의 발음열을 구할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 영어 발음사전 생성기를 구현하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 각 자소를 음소로 변환해 주는 문맥종속 다층 퍼셉트론 구조를 제안한다. 각 자소별 다층 퍼셉트론을 훈련하기 위해서는 표준 발음사전으로부터 각 자소에 대응하는 음소 학습용 데이터를 준비해야 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 적절한 거리척도를 사용하는 동적 프로그래밍 알고리즘을 사용한다. 훈련 및 평가를 위한 데이터로는 116,191개 영어 단어의 발음사전을 사용하였다. 평가 결과 각각 30~50개의 히든 노드를 가지는 26개 자소별 MLP와 예외 자소 발음사전을 가지고 표준 발음사전에 대하여 72.8%의 단어 정확도를 얻었으며, 이것은 기존의 규칙 에 기반한 발음사전 생성의 정확도인 24.0% 보다 매우 우수한 결과임을 보여주었다.

전신성 홍반성 루푸스 (Systemic lupus erythematosus)

  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an episodic, multi-system, autoimmune disease characterized by widespread inflammation of blood vessels and connective tissues and by the presence of antinuclear antibodies (ANAs), especially antibodies to native (double-stranded) DNA (dsDNA). Its clinical manifestations are extremely variable, and its natural history is unpredictable. Untreated, SLE is often progressive and has a significant fatality rate. The most widely used criteria for the classification of SLE are those of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), which were revised in 1982 and modified in 1997. The presence of four criteria have been diagnosed as a SLE. Rashes are common at onset and during active disease. The oral mucosa is the site of ulceration with SLE. Arthralgia and arthritis affect most children and these symptoms are short in duration and can be migratory. Lupus nephritis may be more frequent and of greater severity in children than in adults. The initial manifestation of nephritis is microscopic hematuria, followed by proteinuria. The most common neuropsychiatric symptoms are depression, psychosis(hallucination and paranoia) and headache. CNS disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Pericarditis is the most common cardiac manifestation. Libman-Sacks endocarditis is less common in children. The most frequently described pleuropulmonary manifestations are pleural effusions, pleuritis, pneunonitis and pulmonary hemorrhage. During the active phase ESR, CRP, gamma globulin, ferritin and anti-dsDNA are elevated. Antibodies to dsDNA occur in children with active nephritis. Antibodies to the extractable nuclear antigens (Sm, Ro/SS-A, La/SS-B) are strongly associated with SLE. Specific treatment should be individualized and based on the severity of the disease. Sepsis has replaced renal failure as the most common cause of death.

MODIS 다중시기 영상을 이용한 북한 다락밭 분류 (Terrace Fields Classification in North Korea Using MODIS Multi-temporal Image Data)

  • Forest degradation reduces ecosystem services provided by forest and could lead to change in composition of species. In North Korea, there has been significant forest degradation due to conversion of forest into terrace fields for food production and cut-down of forest for fuel woods. This study analyzed the phenological changes in North Korea, in terms of vegetation and moisture in soil and vegetation, from March to Octorber 2013, using MODIS (MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) images and indexes including NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), NDSI (Normalized Difference Soil Index), and NDWI (Normalized Difference Water Index). In addition, marginal farmland was derived using elevation data. Lastly, degraded terrace fields of 16 degree was analyzed using NDVI, NDSI, and NDWI indexes, and marginal farmland characteristics with slope variable. The accuracy value of land cover classification, which shows the difference between the observation and analyzed value, was 84.9% and Kappa value was 0.82. The highest accuracy value was from agricultural (paddy, field) and forest area. Terrace fields were easily identified using slope data form agricultural field. Use of NDVI, NDSI, and NDWI is more effective in distinguishing deforested terrace field from agricultural area. NDVI only shows vegetation difference whereas NDSI classifies soil moisture values and NDWI classifies abandoned agricultural fields based on moisture values. The method used in this study allowed more effective identification of deforested terrace fields, which visually illustrates forest degradation problem in North Korea.

Free vibration of cross-ply laminated plates based on higher-order shear deformation theory

  • Free vibration of cross-ply laminated plates using a higher-order shear deformation theory is studied. The arbitrary number of layers is oriented in symmetric and anti-symmetric manners. The plate kinematics are based on higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT) and the vibrational behaviour of multi-layered plates are analysed under simply supported boundary conditions. The differential equations are obtained in terms of displacement and rotational functions by substituting the stress-strain relations and strain-displacement relations in the governing equations and separable method is adopted for these functions to get a set of ordinary differential equations in term of single variable, which are coupled. These displacement and rotational functions are approximated using cubic and quantic splines which results in to the system of algebraic equations with unknown spline coefficients. Incurring the boundary conditions with the algebraic equations, a generalized eigen value problem is obtained. This eigen value problem is solved numerically to find the eigen frequency parameter and associated eigenvectors which are the spline coefficients.The material properties of Kevlar-49/epoxy, Graphite/Epoxy and E-glass epoxy are used to show the parametric effects of the plates aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio, stacking sequence, number of lamina and ply orientations on the frequency parameter of the plate. The current results are verified with those results obtained in the previous work and the new results are presented in tables and graphs.
