  • We consider the joint optimization problem of transmit power level, MMSE receiver filter and access point(AP) selection for multi access points environment. In the previous work, transmit power and MMSE receiver filter were jointly optimized[1] and transmit power and best access point were optimized jointly[2]. For each case, the algorithm was proposed and its convergence which guarantees the minimum total transmit power was proved. In this paper, we further improve the algorithm by jointly optimizing three parameters. More specifically, 1) we propose the algorithm by considering transmit power, MMSE receiver filter and access point selection jointly. 2) we prove that the proposed algorithm guarantees convergence with minimum transmit power consumption. In the simulation results, it is shown that proposed algorithm outperforms two other algorithms, i.e., 1) algorithm with transmit power and MMSE receiver filter, and 2) algorithm with transmit power and best access point selection.

  • In this paper, we propose the hybrid methods of SLM(selected mapping) and predistortion, and PTS(partial transmit sequence) and predistortion to reduce PAPR(peak to average power ratio) and to decrease the nonlinear distortion of the nonlinear HPA(high power amplifier) in the multi-code CDMA(code division multiple access) system. The phase rotation factors are transmitted as side information in PTS and SLM methods play an important role in the BER performance. So, we present the theoretical BER equation when the errors of side information are considered in the multi-code CDMA communication system. Simulation results show that PAPR is reduced and nonlinear distortion is compensated by hybrid methods. Therefore BER performance is enhanced.

  • In this paper, the performance of a multiuser diversity system combined with a multi-element transmit antenna system is analyzed under the assumption of independent Rayleigh fading. A measure of system .level performance is an average channel capacity as a function of the number of users and antennas. Average channel capacity is obtained from the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) distribution combined by both transmit diversity(TD) at each link and multiuser diversity at system level. Numerical results show that closed-loop antenna techniques provide an additional gain with multiuser diversity system due to array gain, even though space diversity gain reduces multiuser diversity gain. On the other hand, the space-time block coding(STBC) that provides full order space diversity gain only has a destructive influence on multiuser diversity.

  • In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of interference inflicted to other BSs in multi-cell uplink networks. Assuming that the channel reciprocity time-division duplexing(TDD) system is used, the channel state information (CSI) can be obtained at each user from pilot signals from other BSs. The amount of generating interference to other BSs will be calculated at each user. Especially, in this paper, we propose the threshold-based transmit power control, in which a user decrease its transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.

  • In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of generating interference to other base stations (BSs) in multi-cell multi-input multi-output (MIMO) networks. Assuming that the time-division duplexing (TDD) system is used, the interference channel from users to other cell BSs is obtained at each user. In the proposed scheduling, each user first generates a transmit beamforming vector by using singular value decompositon (SVD) over MIMO channels and reduces the transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Each BS selects the user with the largest effective channel gains among users, which reflects the adjusted power of users. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.

  • In the next generation system, a study on realization of Multi-Core system is in progress for applying it in multi service network. Therefore some mobile systems are expected to be appeared. These systems can support WiBro, WCDMA, CDMA, etc with single terminal. These systems have to support various FA using broadband frequency and hand over to other service network. Especially, in the telecommunication system composed of cell, the transmit power can be interference at adjacent system, has effect on system channel capacity and cell size. In this paper, we improve the unstable transmit power caused by unsettled system operation, propose the RF(Radio Frequency) Calibration method which can use the transmit power stably even during hand over between heterogeneous networks causing unstable power change. Also we used proposed method and analysed used electricity of system during hand over between heterogeneous networks.

  • In this paper, we have designed transmit/receive Module for X band which can be applied to active phase array radar system. AESA(active electrically beam steered array) is able to transmit high power as like TWTA with composition of TH Module and steer a main beam faster than mechanically steering system. The proposed structure of T/R Module for X band is brick type for physical structure, common leg structure electrically and small size design as MCM(multi chip module). The results show that the characteristic of proposed T/R module can fully cover the specification of required military radar application.

  • The relation between HPA (High Power Amplifier) and COMS (Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite) multi-carrier is analyzed in this paper. MODAC (Meteorological and Ocean Data Application Center) has a primary mission to transmit processed data, HRIT (High Rate Information Transmission) and LRIT (Low Rate Information Transmission), which is normalized and calibrated by pre-processing. It is also replaced with the SOC (Satellite Operation Center) in emergency case and can transmit the command and ranging tones for operation of COMS. From the result of simulation with modelled HPA, it is found that the multi-carrier in one HPA can give rise to an inter-modulation which makes harmonic and spurious elements increase in-band. Under the environment of these increased parasitic elements, the degradation of multi-carrier's quality is estimated from the ratio of the amount of noise to total output power of HPA.

  • In this paper, we propose adaptive algorithms for interference cancellation in RF repeaters with multiple transmit and receive antennas. When multiple antennas are used in a repeater, the imperfect isolation between transmit and receive antennas causes the feedback interference which is modeled as multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channel. To remove the feedback interference, we derive the least mean square (LMS) algorithm and the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm for interference cancellation based on adaptive signal processing techniques. Through computer simulations for the proposed algorithms, we analyze the convergence characteristics and compare the steady-state performance for interference cancellation.
