The Design of the analog MPPT by the control of the operating point of a solar array voltage and current (태양 전지의 전압, 전류 동작점 제어를 이용한 아날로그 MPPT 설계)

  • The SAR(Solar Array Regulator) of KOMPSAT(Korea Multi Purpose SATellite)-1, 2 regulates a photovoltaic power according to the duty ratio commands of the ECU. But the ECU has so many other jobs that it can not calculate the solar array condition immediately. It means the SAR cannot always generate the maximum power of a photovoltaic. Nowadays, the commercial photovoltaic systems are using a controller operated by digital processing. But the usage for satellite is not adaptable. It is not easy to find the processor of the space grade and the price is expensive. So in this paper, the simple analog MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm is proposed for the small satellite in LEO. This algorithm does not need any calculation of power by multiplication of voltage and current md a measurement of the solar array temperature. It is consist of only two sample and hold circuits, two comparators, a flip-flop, and an integrator. The proposed MPPT algorithm is verified by the simulation and experimental.

Control Scheme Using Forward Slip for a Multi-stand Hot Strip Rolling Mill

  • Forward slip is an important parameter often used in rolling-speed control models for tandem hot strip rolling mills. In a hot strip mill, on-line measurement of strip speed is inherently very difficult. Therefore, for the set-up of the finishing mill, a forward slip model is used to calculate the strip speed from roll circumferential velocity at each mill stand. Due to its complexity, most previous researches have used semi-empirical methods in determining values for the forward slip. Although these investigations may be useful in process design and control, they do not have a theoretical basis. In the present study, a better forward slip model has been developed, which provides for a better set-up and more precise control of the mill. Factors such as neutral point, friction coefficient, width spread, shape of deformation zone in the roll bite are incorporated into the model. Implementation of the new forward slip model for the control of a 7-stand hot strip tandem rolling mill shows significant improvement in roll speed set-up accuracy.

  • According to the regulation of IMO, oil discharge from ships is allowed under 15ppm only and an oil filtering equipment is essential. However, for large ships using heavy fuel oil of over S.G 0.98 and viscosity 380cSt and system oil, it has been in difficulty to process with existing filtering type of oily water separator. A parallel plate type oily water separator which is one of gravity type separators can be used as an assistant equipment for the oil filtering system to meet the present IMO standard of 15 ppm, because it is an efficient method in dealing with a large amount of rich oil with high specific gravity. This work is focused on the fundamental investigation of the performance of the plate type oily water separator by visualization method and PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) measurement to acquire multi-point velocity data simultaneously. The experimental results showed that the space of the plates acts a significant role in separating process and it was found that an important point to minimize a vortex flow is to flow a large amount of fluid in space of the plates in order to promote the efficiency of separation.

  • The uniformity of themperature on a wafer is a wafer is one the most important parameters to conterol the RTF(Rapid Thermal Process) with proper input signals. It is impossible to achieve the uniformity of temperature without the exact estimation of temperature ar all points on the wafer. There fore, it is difficult to understand the internal dynamics as well as the structural complexities of the RTP, which is aprimary obstacle to measure the distributed temperatures on the wafer accurately. Furthermore, it is also hard to accomplish desirable estimation because only a few pyrometers are available in the general equipments. In the paper, a thermal model based on the chamber grometry of the AST SHS200 RTP system is developed to effectively control the thermal uniformity on the wafer. First of all, the estimation method of one-point measurement is developed, which is properly extended to the case of multi-point measurements. This thermal model is validated through simulation and experiments. The proposed work can be utilized to building a run-by -run or a real-time control of the RTP.

Enhancement Technique of Discharge Measurement Accuracy Using Kalesto Based on Index Velocity Method in Mountain Stream, Jeju Island (지표유속법 기반 제주 산지형 하천 Kalesto 유량 정확도 향상 기법)

  • In the mountain streams in Jeju Island, strong turbulence and roughness usually made it nearly impossible to utilize most of intrusive instrumentation for streamflow discharge measurements. Instead, a non-intrusive fixed electro-magnetic wave surface velocimetry (fixed EWSV: Kalesto) became alternatively popular in many representative streams to measure stream discharge seamlessly. Currently, Kalesto has shown noteworthy performance with little loss in flood discharge measurements and also has successfully provided discharge for every minute. However, Kalesto has been operated to regard its measured one-point velocity as the representative mean velocity for the given cross-section. Therefore, it could be highly possible to potentially encompass discharge measurements errors. In this study, we analyzed the difference between such Kalesto discharge measurements and other alternative concurrent discharge measurements such as Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and mobile EWSV which were able to measure velocity in multi-points in the cross-section. Consequently, Kalesto discharge deviated from ADCP discharge in amount of 48% for relatively low flow, and more than 20% difference for high flow compared with mobile EWSV discharge measurements. These results indicated that the one-point velocity measured by Kalesto should be used as a cross-sectional mean velocity, rather it should be accounted for as an index-velocity in conjunction with directly measured cross-sectional mean velocity by using more reliable instrumentations. After inducing Kalesto Discharge Correction Coefficient (KDCC) that actually means relationship between index velocity and cross-sectional mean velocity, the corrected discharge from Kalesto was significantly improved. Therefore, we found that index velocity method should be applied to obtain better accuracy of discharge measurement in case of Kalesto operation.

  • In this paper, we have developed the multiple channel measurement system for IC Socket Test. The one can test the current-voltage measurements for pitting the several device specification, which analyze the thin current from several ㎂ to 5A with very low resistor mΩ. The increasement of the IC socket channel with lead pitch under 0.25 mm be need to perform several functions, concurrently. The system to perform these functions be designed to integrate several SMU(source measure unit) on board. So, we can reduce the 2 minutes test time per channel point to 40 sec, with daisy chain test method. Using by graphic interface, I-V curve mode and data logging technologies, we can implement the test flow methods and can make economies the time and cost.

  • In this study an air flow meter was developed for MPI engine using ultrasonic sensors. The major characteristcs of the ultrasonic flow meter are high speed response, flow direction recognition and linear output. The air flow rate measurements were conducted at upstream of the throttle and intake manifold. The characteristics of the ultrasonic flow meter are compared with those of the Bosch hot wire flow meter at both steady and unsteady engine conditions.

  • 본 연구에서 개발하고자 하는 다지점 배전반 온도 측정 및 제어를 위한 통합 프로그램 개발은 온도측정을 위해 광 온도 센서를 전력 수배전반에 적용 가능하도록 설계하여 수배전반 Bus Bar 온도를 실시간으로 현장에서 모니터링 하여 유무선 통신 융합으로 측정된 데이터를 모니터링하고 경보 발생시 SMS서비스를 이용하여 관리자에게 경보상태를 알리고 데이터의 DB화를 실시하여 원격 통합 상시 모니터링을 구축함으로써 전력기기의 안정성을 향상 시킬 수 있다.

  • A micro- computer system has been designed to evaluate the performance of commercial infant incubator and to develope the temperature controller of new incubator. The measure- ment system used a hybrid of analog electronics for amplification, integration, and switches and micro-computer for data storage, data display, and control of relay. This approach has been applied to measure the warm-up time, temperature stability, open/close door and port- holes, and temperature distribution on the mattress. The micro-computer provides on-line ac cess of multi-point temperature data, simplifies the analog part of the circuit and gives the flexibility.
