Multi-Phase Model Update for System Identification of PSC Girders under Various Prestress Forces

  • This paper presents a multi-phase model update approach for system identification of prestressed concrete (PSC) girders under various prestress forces. First, a multi-phase model update approach designed on the basis of eigenvalue sensitivity concept is newly proposed. Next, the proposed multi-phase approach is evaluated from controlled experiments on a lab-scale PSC girder for which forced vibration tests are performed for a series of prestress forces. On the PSC girder, a few natural frequencies and mode shapes are experimentally measured for the various prestress forces. The corresponding modal parameters are numerically calculated from a three-dimensional finite element (FE) model which is established for the target PSC girder. Eigenvalue sensitivities are analyzed for potential model-updating parameters of the FE model. Then, structural subsystems are identified phase-by-phase using the proposed model update procedure. Based on model update results, the relationship between prestress forces and model-updating parameters is analyzed to evaluate the influence of prestress forces on structural subsystems.

  • Fuel cell power generation system, unlike conventional energy sources, converts chemical energy into electrical energy through electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. This paper presents the control of interleaved multi-phase boost converter as the feasibility study on small-scale prototype electric railway vehicle application using fuel cell generation system. PSIM simulation program is to be used to implement the modeling of the electrical fuelcell as well as traction motor control with interleaved multi-phase boost converter. Comparing the input current ripple rate, two-phase interleaved boost converter is less than the boost converter. But the more multi-phase not less proportional to the ripple factor. we confirmed that the amplitude of the input current ripple rate of converter depend on duty ratio.

Multi-frequency bands receiver system and its test observation results

  • Over the past several years the millimeter wave VLBI(Veryl Long Baseline Interferometry) observations have been intensively carried out. However In millimeter and sub-millimeter waves observations for VLBI, it is crucial to calibrate correctly the phase variations of the electromagnetic waves propagation through the troposphere. To do this, KVN(Korean VLBI Network) has a unique multi-frequency bands receiver system which is able to perform the simultaneous observations in up to four bands such as 22, 43, 86, and 129GHz. The phase of a source at 22GHz can be used to calibrate the phase of the same source at higher frequency bands. The phase calibration using multi-frequency bands receiver system is possible because the phase fluctuations from a given amount of waver vapor increase linearly with frequency. That is to say that troposphere is non-dispersive property in terms of tropospheric delay fluctuations. In this talk, We present results of test observation for multi-frequency bands receiver system.

MRAS Based Sensorless Control of a Series-Connected Five-Phase Two-Motor Drive System

  • Multi-phase machines can be used in variable speed drives. Their applications include electric ship propulsion, 'more-electric aircraft' and traction applications, electric vehicles, and hybrid electric vehicles. Multi-phase machines enable independent control of a few numbers of machines that are connected in series in a particular manner with their supply being fed from a single voltage source inverter(VSI). The idea was first implemented for a five-phase series-connected two-motor drive system, but is now applicable to any number of phases more than or equal to five-phase. The number of series-connected machines is a function of the phase number of VSI. Theoretical and simulation studies have already been reported for number of multi-phase multi-motor drive configurations of series-connection type. Variable speed induction motor drives without mechanical speed sensors at the motor shaft have the attractions of low cost and high reliability. To replace the sensor, information concerning the rotor speed is extracted from measured stator currents and voltages at motor terminals. Open-loop estimators or closed-loop observers are used for this purpose. They differ with respect to accuracy, robustness, and sensitivity against model parameter variations. This paper analyses operation of an MRAS estimator based sensorless control of a vector controlled series-connected two-motor five-phase drive system with current control in the stationary reference frame. Results, obtained with fixed-voltage, fixed-frequency supply, and hysteresis current control are presented for various operating conditions on the basis of simulation results. The purpose of this paper is to report the first ever simulation results on a sensorless control of a five-phase two-motor series-connected drive system. The operating principle is given followed by a description of the sensorless technique.

  • In this paper, we composed solar generation system with multi-phase interleaved boost converter Solar generated voltage is low, so it has need of the boost power conversion device for supply power to normal load. The multi-phase interleaved boost converter is easy to boost voltage and it can be reduced both input current ripple and output voltage ripple because it is composed with multi-phase. We simulated and tested multi-phase interleaved boost converter applied three-phase.

  • This paper proposes a new control scheme of lithium ion battery units based on single phase multi-level converter. In the DC/AC converter applications using battery storage system, it is necessary to control the balancing voltage of individual battery units for high efficiency utilization. Using the proposed control scheme, the DC/AC single phase converter system is applied. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, computer simulation is accomplished. In the computer simulation, lithium-ion battery units and single phase multi-level converter system are modeled and carried out using Psim simulation program. It will be helpful for design and applications of energy storage system with lithium-ion battery.

  • This paper proposes an efficient bi-directional DC/DC converter topology using multi-phase interleaved method for power storage system. The proposed converter topology is used for a power storage system using a vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB) and is configured to enable bidirectional power flow for charging and discharging of VRFB. Proposed DC/DC converter of the 4 leg method is reduced to 1/4 times the rating of the reactor and the power semiconductor device so can be reduce the system size. Also, proposed topology is obtained the effect of four times the switching frequency as compared to the conventional converter in each leg with a 90 degree phase shift 4 leg method. This can suppress the reduction of the life of the secondary battery because it is possible to reduce the current ripple in accordance with the charging and discharging of VRFB and may increase the efficiency of the entire system. In this paper, it proposed bidirectional high-efficiency DC/DC converter topology Using multi-phase interleaved method and proved the validity through simulations and experiments.

SVD를 이용한 다중 채널상에서의 음재생을 위한 역변환 필터의 구현 (An Implementation of Inverse Filter Using SVD for Multi-channel Sound Reproduction)

  • 본 연구에서는 SVD (Singular Value Decomposition)를 이용하여 다중입력과 다중출력을 가지는 시스템에서의 입력을 알아내기 위해 역변환 필터를 구현하였다. SISO (Single-Input and Single-Output)시스템의 입력과 출력의 관계에 대한 행렬공식화 작업을 확장하여 MIMO (Multi-Input and Multi-Output)시스템에 적용하였다. 그리고 시간영역과 주파수영역에서 최소위상 (Minimum phase)시스템과 비최소위상 (Non-minimum phase)시스템에 대한 그 역벽환에 대해 알아보았으며 비최소 위상요소에 대한 효과적인 역변환을 위해 SVD를 도입하였다. 먼저 전체시스템 행렬의 특이값 (singular value)을 계산하고 시스템의 위상에 대해 알아본다. 전체시스템이 비최소 위상인 경우 하나 이상의 매우 작은 특이값을 가지며 이는 시스템의 최소 위상/비최소 위상에 대한 정보를 가짐을 알 수 있다. 이를 이용하여 전체시스템에 대한 근사적인 역변환 필터를 구할 수 있으며 보다 근사적인 역변환 필터를 얻기 위하여 특이벡터를 이용하여 근사적인 역변환 필터를 얻었다. 수치적 예는 이러한 역변환 필터 행렬의 이용에 대한 잠재성을 보여준다.

Implementation of a High Efficiency Grid-Tied Multi-Level Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System Using Phase Shifted H-Bridge Modules

  • This paper proposes a high efficiency three-phase cascaded phase shifted H-bridge multi-level inverter without DC/DC converters for grid-tied multi string photovoltaic (PV) applications. The cascaded H-bridge topology is suitable for PV applications since each PV module can act as a separate DC source for each cascaded H-bridge module. The proposed phase shifted H-bridge multi-level topology offers advantages such as operation at a lower switching frequency and a lower current ripple when compared to conventional two level topologies. It is also shown that low ripple sinusoidal current waveforms are generated with a unity power factor. The control algorithm permits the independent control of each DC link voltage with a maximum power point for each string of PV modules. The use of the controller area network (CAN) communication protocol for H-bridge multi-level inverters, along with localized PWM generation and PV voltage regulation are implemented. It is also shown that the expansion and modularization capabilities of the H-bridge modules are improved since the individual inverter modules operate more independently. The proposed topology is implemented for a three phase 240kW multi-level PV power conditioning system (PCS) which has 40kW H-bridge modules. The experimental results show that the proposed topology has good performance.

힐버트 변환을 이용한 디지털 위상천이기의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of digital phase shifter using Hilbert transform)

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티암(multi-arm) 스파이럴 안테나용 디지털 위상천이기(digital phase-shifter)를 힐버트 변환(Hillbert transform)을 이용하여 설계하였다. 힐버트 변환은 입력신호에 포함된 모든 주파수 성분을 $90^{\circ}$ 위상천이 시키며, 퓨리에 변환(Fourier transform)과 역퓨리에 변환(Inverse FIT)을 통해 구현된다. 디지털 위상천이기는 ADC(Analog-digital converter)로 샘플링된 입력신호에 힐버트 변환을 적용하여 위상차가 $90^{\circ}$인 두 신호를 생성하고, 이 두 신호를 이용하여 입력신호의 위상을 천이위상만큼 천이시키게 한다. 힐버트 변환 기반의 디지털 위상천이기는 Xilinx사의 System generator로 설계되었고, 입력 잡음, FFT 포인트 수, 샘플링 주기, 입력신호의 초기위상 및 천이 위상각 등에 따른 위상천이 성능을 시뮬레이션 하였으며, Matlab 결과와 비교하여 일치함을 확인하였다.
