The efficiency of a supply chain can be extremely affected by its design which includes determining the flow pattern of material from suppliers to costumers, selecting the suppliers, and defining the opened facilities in network. In this paper, a multi-objective multi-echelon multi-product supply chain design model is proposed in which several suppliers, several manufacturers, several distribution centers as different stages of supply chain cooperate with each other to satisfy various costumers' demands. The multi-objectives of this model which considered simultaneously are 1-minimize the total cost of supply chain including production cost, transportation cost, shortage cost, and costs of opening a facility, 2-minimize the transportation time from suppliers to costumers, and 3-maximize the service level of the system by minimizing the maximum level of shortages. To configure this model a graph theoretic approach is used by considering channels among each two facilities as links and each facility as the nodes in this configuration. Based on complexity of the proposed model a multi-objective Pareto-based vibration damping optimization (VDO) algorithm is applied to solve the model and finally non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is also applied to evaluate the performance of MOVDO. The results indicated the effectiveness of the proposed MOVDO to solve the model.

Recently, the biochip which is a prime representation of NT, IT, BT, as an example of convergence technology, has been frequently mentioned. With the recent rapid advance in biotechnology, these compact devices, such as lab-on-a-chip or u-TAS, have been developed, and more research is needed. These compact devices typically use the micro-channel in order to shed or detach and mix a variety of materials. Specially, in micro-fluidic systems, a mixer is necessary to produce a mixture because only laminar flow occurs at a low-Reynolds number. To solve this problem, HVM a micromixer that induces a horizontal and vertical multi-mixing flow motion, is proposed. The mixing performance was analyzed and verified by optimizing the shape through the CFD analysis and evaluating the structural analysis and the soundness with material properties that are obtained through the basic experiment.
Piston crown to the hot forge a unified nature of the product has a shape with multi-level step forging process, so if you are not a mechanical professional, this process could lead to a significant loss to the material. Therefore, material technology in minor terms; continue to improve the collection rate that undamaged the product material. The piston crown and the manufacturing products such as marine diesel engines are being forged to reduce costs and to improve mechanical properties. Piston crown molding is a hot forging process that works in large volume forging products. Because of the size of the hard plastic material flow process for improving the design and actual field experience through advanced plastic technology, it is important to interpret the results. Also for many experimental plastic procedures, the accumulation of results is very important.

In this paper, the predictions and measurements of sound transmission loss(STL) are discussed for various types of acoustical materials and carpets. Random incidence sound transmission losses are measured by the sound intensity method. The in-house software HONUS2005 is used to predict TL and estimate the various physical properties such as the flow resistivity, the structure factor, the porosity, the Possion's ratio, and etc. After this estimation, various multi-layered materials with a steel plate are measured and predicted. In particular, Carpets are assumed to be membranes to predict acoustical performance. To confirm this assumption, double and triple-layered cases are also observed including two different kinds of carpets.

A shop floor can be considered as and importand level to develop a Computer Integrated Manufacturing system (CIMs). The shop foor is a dynamic environment where unexpected events contrinuously occur, and impose changes to planned activities. The shop floor should adopt an appropriate control system that is responsible for scheduling coordination and moving the manufacturing material and information flow. In this paper, the architecture of the hybrid control model identifies three levels; i.e., the shop floor controller (SFC), the cell controller(CC) and the equipment controller (EC). The methodology for developing these controller is employ an object-oriented approach for static models and IDEF0 for function models for dispatching a job. SFC and CC are coordinated by employing a multi-factors bidding and an adapted Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) prove applicability of the suggested method. Test experiment has been conducted by with the shopfloor, consisting of six manufacturing cells.
A distribution system is composed of multiple levels from a producer to customers, and it's objective is to supply customers with goods timely with a prescribed level of quality at a minimum cost. For the installation and operation of multi-echelon distribution system, DRP(Distribution Resource Planning) is widely used. However, because of the characteristic difference of material flow dynamic of each distribution center, it is almost impossible to get the optimal distribution scheduling. In this paper, an improved DRP method to schedule multi-echelon distribution network is proposed so that the lot-size and order point is dynamically obtained to meet the change of demand rate and timing. The experiment is done with various demand pattern, forecast errors of demand and lead times of central distribution center. The proposed method is compared with traditional statistical approach.

The principle of the superconducting vortex flow transistor (SVFT) is based on control of the Abrikosov vortex flowing along a channel. The induced voltage is controlled by a bias current and a control current, instead of external magnetic field. The device is composed of parallel weak links with a nearby current control line. We explained the process to get an I-V characteristic equation and described the method to induce the external and internal magnetic field by the Biot-Savarts law in this paper. The equation can be used to predict the I-V curves for fabricated device. From the equation we demonstrated that the current-voltage characteristics were changed with input parameters. I-V characteristics were simulated to analyze a SVFT with multi-channel by a Matlab program.
In closed-die hot forging, a billet is formed in dies such that the flow of metal from the die cavity is restricted. Some parts can be forged in a single set of dies, whilst others, due to shape complexity and material flow limitations, must be shaped in multi sets of dies. The purpose of a performing operation is to distribute the volume of the parts such that material flow in the finisher dies will be sound. This study focused on the design of preforms, flash thickness and land width by theoretical calculation and finite element analysis, to manufacture the super hot forging product, 70MC type piston crown used in marine engine. The optimal design of preforms by the finite element analysis and the design experiment achieves adequate metal distribution without any defects and guarantees the minimum forming load and fully filling of the cavity of the die for producing the large piston crown. The maximum loads obtained by finite element analysis are compared with the results of experiments. The loads of the analysis have good agreements with those of the experiment. Results obtained using DEFORM-2D enable the designer and manufacturer of super hot forging dies to be more efficient in this field.

A burr has been defined as undesirable projection of material formed as a result of plastic flow from a cutting or shearing operation. It is unavoidable in all kinds of machining operation. As a result, burr makes troubles on manufacturing process due to deburring cost, quality of products and productivity. In this study, the primary interest is about exit burr. The burr formation mechanism in each type of burr is classified. Data bases are developed to predict burr formation result. In the milling operation, we develop an algorithm to analyze the burr formation mechanism by the geometrical analysis on the multi featured workpiece with multi cutting path. The algorithm includes three steps, i. e., the feature identification, the cutting condition identification, and the analysis on exit burr formation. We can predict which portion of workpiece would have the exit burr in advance so that we can manage to find a way to minimize the exit burr formation in an actual cutting. Also, this algorithm can be implemented in a commercial CAM package so that we can simulate the NC code to review the burr formation in advance.

The flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) provides a new advanced technology solution to improve the flexibility, controllability, and stability of a power system. The unified power flow controller (UPFC) is outstanding for regulating power flow in the FACTS; it can control the real power, reactive power, and node voltage of distribution networks. This paper investigates the performance of the UPFC for power flow control with a series of step changes in rapid succession in a power system steady state and the response of the UPFC to distribution network faults and islanding mode. Simulation was carried out using the MATLAB's simulink sim power systems toolbox. The results, which were carried out on a 5-bus test system and a 4-bus multi-machine electric power system, show clearly the effectiveness and viability of UPFC in rapid response and independent control of the real and reactive power flows and oscillation damping [6].
