Maximum Likelihood Based Doppler Estimation and Target Detection with Pulse Code Modulated Waveform (ML 기법을 이용한 PCM 파형에서의 표적 탐지 및 도플러 추정)

  • Characteristics of PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) waveform are suitable for target tracking. Especially in terms of dwell time, it is desirable to detect and track a moving target with the single PCM waveform for a MFR(Multi-Function Radar) which carries out multiple tasks. General PCM waveform processing includes Doppler filter bank caused by the characteristics of ambiguity function, to detect target and estimate Doppler frequency, which induces hardware burden and computational complexity. We propose a ML(Maximum Likelihood) based Doppler estimator for a PCM waveform, which is the closed form suboptimal solution and computationally efficient to estimate Doppler frequency and detect a moving target.

  • In this paper, a new interference-free Home CDMA-PLC(Code Division Multiple Access-Power Line Communication) system based on the binary ZCD(Zero Correlation Duration) spreading code is proposed as a key solution to overcome the previous problems. Binary ZCD spreading code sets with enlarged family sizes are generated by carrying out a chip-shift operation of the preferred pairs. The properties or the proposed ZCD-PLC systems are effective for MPI(Multi-Path Interference) and MAI (Multiple Access Interference) cancellation in the CDMA-PLC systems. By BER performance simulation, we certified the availability of proposed ZCD-CDMA-PLC system.

  • In this paper, we propose a multiple access scheme using MHP(Modified Hermite Polynomial) pulse and ternary code for high-data and low-data rate for Out-body WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network). To satisfy the requirement of WBAN system, UWB-IR has been considered as a promising candidate for Out-body WBAN. The proposed multiple access scheme, using orthogonal MHP pulse and ternary code sets, reduces multi-user interference and distinguishes user signal from multi-user signals. We propose two algorithms for synchronous and asynchronous WBAN system. The symbol is constructed by MHP pulses and time hopping duration to reduce multi-user interference in the synchronous WBAN system. The symbol also is constructed by ternary code to avoid collision between pulse trains in the asynchronous WBAN system. The results of the proposed multiple access scheme show a clear improvement of BER.

  • The demand for faster execution time and lower energy consumption has compelled architects of embedded processors to customize it to the needs of their target applications. These processors consequently provide a rich set of specialized instructions in order to enable programmers to access these features. Such an instruction is typically a $multi$-$output$ $instruction$ (MOI), which outputs multiple results parallely in order to exploit inherent underlying hardware parallelism. Earlier study has exhibited that MOIs help to enhance performance in aspect of instruction counts and code size. However the earlier algorithm does not consider the register pressure. So, some selected MOIs introduce register spill/reload code that increases the code size and instruction count. To attack this problem, we introduce a novel iterated instruction selection algorithm based on the register pressure of each selected MOIs. The experimental results show the suggested algorithm achieves 3% code-size reduction and 2.7% speed-up on average.

  • Multi-dimensional coupling analysis is a research hot spot in nuclear reactor thermal hydraulic study and both the full-scale system transient response and local key three-dimensional thermal hydraulic phenomenon could be obtained simultaneously, which can achieve the balance between efficiency and accuracy in the numerical simulation of nuclear reactor. A one-dimensional to three-dimensional (1D-3D) coupling platform for the nuclear reactor multi-dimensional analysis is developed by XJTU-NuTheL (Nuclear Thermal-hydraulic Laboratory at Xi'an Jiaotong University) based on the CFD code Fluent and system code RELAP5 through the Dynamic Link Library (DLL) technology and Fluent user-defined functions (UDF). In this paper, the International Standard Problem (ISP) No. 43 is selected as the benchmark and the rapid boron dilution transient in the nuclear reactor is studied with the coupling code. The code validation is conducted first and the numerical simulation results show good agreement with the experimental data. The three-dimensional flow and temperature fields in the downcomer are analyzed in detail during the transient scenarios. The strong reverse flow is observed beneath the inlet cold leg, causing the de-borated water slug to mainly diffuse in the circumferential direction. The deviations between the experimental data and the transients predicted by the coupling code are also discussed.

  • 일반적으로 주어진 하나의 H matrix 로 다수의 코드율을 가지는 코드화가 가능하다. 하지만 Low Density Parity Check(LDPC) 코드의 H matrix는 H matrix 내의 1의 개수와 위치에 따라 그 성능이 달라짐으로 해서 하나의 H matrix로 다수의 코드율을 대응하기 위한 설계 방법이 요구된다. H matrix 의 성능은 일반적으로 girth나 minimum distance에 의해 좌우되고 H matrix의 1의 위치에 따라 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 H matrix의 girth 와 minimum distance에 입각한 다수 개의 코드율이 대응 가능한 LDPC code의 H matrix 설계 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 이렇게 함으로써 하나의 H matrix로 다수의 코드율에 따른 각각의 성능을 일정 수준 이상 유지하는 multi-rate LDPC code가 가능하다.

  • The Multi-Code CDMA systems that are proposed as an effective transmission methodology in the IMT-2000 systems allow higher rate services under the IS-95 CDMA infrastructure. The Multi-Code CDMA systems convert the higher rate data into the lower rate by serial to parallel operation and spread the converted data streams by the multiple walsh codes, and its mobile receiver needs multiple walsh generators and data correlators to demodulate simultaneously multiple walsh code channels. Therefore, the number of data correlators is increased as the number of traffic channels increases. In this paper, we proposed the new structure of the data correlators using walsh overlay coding, the shared accumulator, and FWHT(Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform) algorithm for reducing the bottle-neck effect resulting the increase of the number of data correlators.

  • The MC-CDMA(Multi-Code CDMA) systems for handling various data transmission rate which is demanded in the IMT-2000 systems are effective transmission technology, which can provide the higher data service than the conventional IS-95 CDMA systems because a user takes advantage of a number of channels. The receiver of MC-CDMA systems to be provided these data service have to be structured of demodulating simultaneously a number of traffic channels. This paper is designed the merged rake receiver demodulating simultaneously a number of traffic channels in the MC-CDMA systems. The merged rake receiver is to reduce the complexity of receiver resulting a number of channels.

Reconfigurable Hardware Structures for Spreading and Scrambling Operations

  • This paper proposes reconfigurable hardware structures for spreading and scrambling of multi-mode CDMA systems. The proposed reconfigurable structures supporting IS-95, cdma2000 and WCDMA, include a pseudo noise code generator, a channelization code generator and a control circuit for signal flow control. The proposed reconfigurable structures provide an efficient hardware usage for multi-mode CDMA systems. The synthesis results show the area reduction about 24.7% compared with the original code generators. The proposed structures can provide efficient reconfigurability and high speed operations for future SDR systems.

  • Reed-Solomon(RS) code is the most powerful burst error correcting code. In Ois paper, the architecture for the adaptive RS encoder adaptable for multi QoS requirements or time-varying channel environments has been designed. In the adaptive RS code, the message length k and the error correction capability t are allowed to be variable so that the block length n is also variable. We proposed the architecture of the adaptive RS encoder by designing the optimal structure of Galois fields multiplier with comparison of fixed multiplier and variable multiplier. The proposed architecture is implemented in VHDL and verified with the simulation tool
