  • A mixed model assembly line (MMAL) is a special type of production line where a variety of product models similar in product characteristics are assembled. Determining the model sequence is an important problem for the efficient use of MMALs. This paper considers interactive multiobjective decision making problems for MMAL sequencing. Evolution program is employed as an underlying framework. In this study, a way of approximating the linear utility function is first studied. To improve its search efficiency to the solution space preferred by a decision maker, some modifications of a standard evolution program are made: operating several subpopulations instead of a single population and merging two or more subpopulations to a single subpopulation, and using a Pareto pool. Extensive computational experiments are carried out to verify the performance of the proposed approach. The computational results show that our approach is promising in solution quality.

  • The power expansion planning is large and capital intensive capacity planning. In the past the expansion planning was established with the proper supply reliability in order to minimize social cost. However, the planning not used cost minimizing objective function in the power markets with many market participants. This paper proposed the power expansion planning process in the power markets. This system is composed of Regulator and GENCO's model. Regulator model used multi-criteria decision making rule. GENCO model is very complex problem. Thus, this system transacted the part by several scenario assuming GENCO model.

  • In this paper, the one period multi-item inventory model is considered in which it is required to determine the production quantity and selling price of each item which maximize the probability of realizing predetermined level of profit. The objective function of this model is the sum of weighted probabilities which represent the possibility of obtaining the predetermined level of profit for each item. Budget constraint, inventory site constraint and constraints of price are considered. Finally this paper shows a numerical example in which random demand of each item has exponential distribution.

  • This paper presents the method for the placement and operation of dispersed generator systems(DGs) using fuzzy goal programming in distribution systems. For the placement and operation of DGs the problem is formulated with reduction of search spaces and flexibility of system situations. Especially, the original objective function and constraints are transformed by fuzzy goal programming to evaluate their imprecise nature for the criterion of power loss minimization, the number or total capacity of DGs and the bus voltage deviation, and then solve the problem using genetic algorithm.

  • In this research, in order to optimize the multi-objective function effectively, we suggested the optimization model to maximize the total destruction of ground targets and minimize the total damage of aircrafts and cost of air munitions by using goal programming. To satisfy the various variables and constraints of this mathematical model, the concept of air strike package is applied. As a consequence, effective attack can be possible by identifying the prior ground targets more quickly. This study can contribute to maximize the ROK air force's combat power and preservation of high value air asset in the war.

  • The force distribution in multi-legged robots is a constrained, optimization problem. The solution to the problem is the set points of the leg contact forces for a particular system task. In this paper, an efficient and general formulation of the force distribution problem is developed using linear programming. The considered walking robot is a quadruped robot with a locked-joint failure, i.e., a joint of the failed leg is locked at a known place. For overcoming the drawback of marginal stability in fault-tolerant gaits, we define safety margin on friction constraints as the objective function to be maximized. Dynamic features of locked-joint failure are represented by equality and inequality constraints of linear programming. Unlike the former study, our result can be applied to various forms of walking such as crab and turning gaits. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, optimal tuning problem of power system stabilizer(PSS) using Immune Algorithm(IA) is investigated to improve power system dynamic stability. In proposed method, objective function is represented as antigens. An affinity calculation is embedded within the algorithm for determining the promotion or suppression of antibody. An antibody that most fits the antigen is considered as the solution to PSS tuning problem. The computaton performance by the proposed method is compared with Genetic Algorithm(GA). The porposed PSS using IA has been applied for two sample system, single-machine infinite bus system and multi-machine power system. The performance of the proposed PSS is compared with that of conventional PSS. It is shown that the proposed PSS tuned using immune algorithm is more robust than conventional PSS.

  • The probability of target survival is the most important factor in the target assignment, Most of the studies about it have assumed the case of one target and ane weapon type. Therefore, they can not be applied to the real situation. In this paper. the quantity and type of enemy assets of the friendly force are considered simultaneously. Considered defense type is the coordinated defense with no impact point prediction. The objective function is to minimize the expected total survival value of targets which are scattered in the defense area. The rules of aircraft assignment are as follows : first, classify targets into several groups, each of those has the same desired damage level secondly. select the critical group which has the least survival value in accordance with the additional aircraft assignment, and finally. assign the same number of attack assets against each target in the critical group. In this paper, the attack assets, the escort assets, and the defense assets are considered. The model is useful to not only the simple aircraft assignment problem but also the complicated wargame models.

  • This study is intended to suggest1 the optimized data mining model for the efficient customer credit evaluation in the capital finance industry. To accomplish the research objective, various data mining models for the customer credit evaluation are compared and analyzed. Furthermore, existing models such as Multi-Layered Perceptrons, Multivariate Discrimination Analysis, Radial Basis Function, Decision Tree, and Logistic Regression are employed for analyzing the customer information in the capital finance market and the detailed data of capital financing transactions. Finally, the data from the integrated model utilizing a genetic algorithm is compared with those of each individual model mentioned above. The results reveals that the integrated model is superior to other existing models.
