Optimization of Posture for Humanoid Robot Using Artificial Intelligence (인공지능을 이용한 휴머노이드 로봇의 자세 최적화)

  • This research deals with posture optimization for humanoid robot against external forces using genetic algorithm and neural network. When the robot takes a motion to push an object, the torque of each joint is generated by reaction force at the palm. This study aims to optimize the posture of the humanoid robot that will change this torque. This study finds an optimized posture using a genetic algorithm such that torques are evenly distributed over the all joints. Then, a number of different optimized postures are generated from various the reaction forces at the palm. The data is to be used as training data of MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron) neural network with BP(Back Propagation) learning algorithm. Humanoid robot can find the optimal posture at different reaction forces in real time using the trained neural network include non-training data.

  • 우리는 갈수록 지능화, 분산화, 자동화 되어 가고 있는 침입에 대해 효과적으로 대처하기 위해 신경망을 적용한 침입탐지 시스템을 설계 하였다. 본 논문은 신경망을 학습시키기 위해 학습 견본과 신경망 적용 인자를 정의 하였으며 학습 기법으론 MLP(Multi Layer Perceptron)을 이용 하였다. 새롭게 설계된 침입탐지 시스템의 탐지 모듈은 기존의 패턴 매치 방식의 모듈과 신경망 모듈이 적용되어 보다 정확한 침입 탐지가 가능하다.

Classification of ultrasonic signals of thermally aged cast austenitic stainless steel (CASS) using machine learning (ML) models

  • Cast austenitic stainless steels (CASSs) are widely used as structural materials in the nuclear industry. The main drawback of CASSs is the reduction in fracture toughness due to long-term exposure to operating environment. Even though ultrasonic non-destructive testing has been conducted in major nuclear components and pipes, the detection of cracks is difficult due to the scattering and attenuation of ultrasonic waves by the coarse grains and the inhomogeneity of CASS materials. In this study, the ultrasonic signals measured in thermally aged CASS were discriminated for the first time with the simple ultrasonic technique (UT) and machine learning (ML) models. Several different ML models, specifically the K-nearest neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) models, were used to classify the ultrasonic signals as thermal aging condition of CASS specimens. We identified that the ML models can predict the category of ultrasonic signals effectively according to the aging condition.

  • Among nondestructive damage detection methods, impedance-based methods have been recognized as an effective technique for damage identification in many kinds of structures. This paper proposes a method to detect cracks in metal structures by combining electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) responses and artificial neural networks (ANN). Firstly, the theories of EMI responses and impedance-based damage detection methods are described. Secondly, the reliability of numerical simulations for impedance responses is demonstrated by comparing to pre-published results for an aluminum beam. Thirdly, the proposed method is used to detect cracks in the beam. The RMSD (root mean square deviation) index is used to alarm the occurrence of the cracks, and the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) ANN is employed to identify the location and size of the cracks. The selection of the effective frequency range is also investigated. The analysis results reveal that the proposed method accurately detects the cracks' occurrence, location, and size in metal structures.

  • 기존의 CCTV 관리 체계는 사건·사고에 대한 신속한 조치가 불가능하고 정황 파악이나 증거자료 확보 등 사후조치의 성격이 강하다. 본 논문에서는 Mask R-CNN(Regions with CNN)을 이용하여 CCTV가 읽어 들이는 객체가 응급상황인지 판단하는 방법을 제시한다. 사람으로 인식되는 영역을 다층 퍼셉트론(MLP, Multi-Layer Perceptron)으로 학습시켜 해당 대상이 처한 상황을 인지하고 응급상황으로 인식되는 상황이 지속될 경우 관리 모니터를 통해 사용자에게 알림을 준다. 본 연구를 통해 실시간 상호작용적인 CCTV 관리 체계를 구축하여 도움이 필요한 사람의 골든타임을 놓치지 않게 될 것으로 기대한다.

Automatic Extraction of Eye and Mouth Fields from Face Images using MultiLayer Perceptrons and Eigenfeatures (고유특징과 다층 신경망을 이용한 얼굴 영상에서의 눈과 입 영역 자동 추출)

  • This paper presents a novel algorithm lot extraction of the eye and mouth fields (facial features) from 2D gray level face images. First of all, it has been found that Eigenfeatures, derived from the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the binary edge data set constructed from the eye and mouth fields are very good features to locate these fields. The Eigenfeatures, extracted from the positive and negative training samples for the facial features, ate used to train a MultiLayer Perceptron(MLP) whose output indicates the degree to which a particular image window contains the eye or the mouth within itself. Second, to ensure robustness, the ensemble network consisting of multiple MLPs is used instead of a single MLP. The output of the ensemble network becomes the average of the multiple locations of the field each found by the constituent MLPs. Finally, in order to reduce the computation time, we extracted the coarse search region lot eyes and mouth by using prior information on face images. The advantages of the proposed approach includes that only a small number of frontal faces are sufficient to train the nets and furthermore, lends themselves to good generalization to non-frontal poses and even to other people's faces. It was also experimentally verified that the proposed algorithm is robust against slight variations of facial size and pose due to the generalization characteristics of neural networks.

A screening of Alzheimer's disease using basis synthesis by singular value decomposition from Raman spectra of platelet (혈소판 라만 스펙트럼에서 특이값 분해에 의한 기저 합성을 통한 알츠하이머병 검출)

  • In this paper, we proposed a method to screening of Alzheimer's disease (AD) from Raman spectra of platelet with synthesis of basis spectra using singular value decomposition (SVD). Raman spectra of platelet from AD transgenic mice are preprocessed with denoising, removal background and normalization method. The column vectors of each data matrix consist of Raman spectrum of AD and normal (NR). The matrix is factorized using SVD algorithm and then the basis spectra of AD and NR are determined by 12 column vectors of each matrix. The classification process is completed by select the class that minimized the root-mean-square error between the validation spectrum and the linear synthesized spectrum of the basis spectra. According to the experiments involving 278 Raman spectra, the proposed method gave about 97.6% classification rate, which is better performance about 6.1% than multi-layer perceptron (MLP) with extracted features using principle components analysis (PCA). The results show that the basis spectra using SVD is well suited for the diagnosis of AD by Raman spectra from platelet.

  • Today's information and communication technology is rapidly developing, the security of IT infrastructure is becoming more important, and at the same time, cyber attacks of various forms are becoming more advanced and sophisticated like intelligent persistent attacks (Advanced Persistent Threat). Early defense or prediction of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks is extremely important, and in many cases, the analysis of network-based intrusion detection systems (NIDS) related data alone cannot prevent rapidly changing cyber attacks. Therefore, we are currently using data generated by intrusion detection systems to protect against cyber attacks described above through Host-based Intrusion Detection System (HIDS) data analysis. In this paper, we conducted a comparative study on machine learning algorithms using LID-DS (Leipzig Intrusion Detection-Data Set) host-based intrusion detection data including thread information, metadata, and buffer data missing from previously used data sets. The algorithms used were Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron), Logistic Regression, LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory model), and RNN (Recurrent Neural Network). Accuracy, accuracy, recall, F1-Score indicators and error rates were measured for evaluation. As a result, the LSTM algorithm had the highest accuracy.

Design of an Effective Deep Learning-Based Non-Profiling Side-Channel Analysis Model (효과적인 딥러닝 기반 비프로파일링 부채널 분석 모델 설계방안)

  • Recently, a deep learning-based non-profiling side-channel analysis was proposed. The deep learning-based non-profiling analysis is a technique that trains a neural network model for all guessed keys and then finds the correct secret key through the difference in the training metrics. As the performance of non-profiling analysis varies greatly depending on the neural network training model design, a correct model design criterion is required. This paper describes the two types of loss functions and eight labeling methods used in the training model design. It predicts the analysis performance of each labeling method in terms of non-profiling analysis and power consumption model. Considering the characteristics of non-profiling analysis and the HW (Hamming Weight) power consumption model is assumed, we predict that the learning model applying the HW label without One-hot encoding and the Correlation Optimization (CO) loss will have the best analysis performance. And we performed actual analysis on three data sets that are Subbytes operation part of AES-128 1 round. We verified our prediction by non-profiling analyzing two data sets with a total 16 of MLP-based model, which we describe.

Recognition of dog's front face using deep learning and machine learning (딥러닝 및 기계학습 활용 반려견 얼굴 정면판별 방법)

  • As pet dogs rapidly increase in number, abandoned and lost dogs are also increasing in number. In Korea, animal registration has been in force since 2014, but the registration rate is not high owing to safety and effectiveness issues. Biometrics is attracting attention as an alternative. In order to increase the recognition rate from biometrics, it is necessary to collect biometric images in the same form as much as possible-from the face. This paper proposes a method to determine whether a dog is facing front or not in a real-time video. The proposed method detects the dog's eyes and nose using deep learning, and extracts five types of directional face information through the relative size and position of the detected face. Then, a machine learning classifier determines whether the dog is facing front or not. We used 2,000 dog images for learning, verification, and testing. YOLOv3 and YOLOv4 were used to detect the eyes and nose, and Multi-layer Perceptron (MLP), Random Forest (RF), and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) were used as classifiers. When YOLOv4 and the RF classifier were used with all five types of the proposed face orientation information, the face recognition rate was best, at 95.25%, and we found that real-time processing is possible.
