  • Abstract In this paper, we propose a method of cooperative control based on artifical intelligent system in distributed autonomous robotic system. In general, multi-agent behavior algorithm is simple and effective for small number of robots. And multi-robot behavior control is a simple reactive navigation strategy by combining repulsion from obstacles with attraction to a goal. However when the number of robot goes on increasing, this becomes difficult to be realized because multi-robot behavior algorithm provide on multiple constraints and goals in mobile robot navigation problems. As the solution of above problem, we propose an architecture of fuzzy system for each multi-robot speed control and fuzzy-neural network for obstacle avoidance. Here, we propose an architecture of fuzzy system for each multi-robot speed control and fuzzy-neural network for their direction to avoid obstacle. Our focus is on system of cooperative autonomous robots in environment with obstacle. For simulation, we divide experiment into two method. One method is motor schema-based formation control in previous and the other method is proposed by this paper. Simulation results are given in an obstacle environment and in an dynamic environment.

Chemical Warfare Agent Simulant Decontamination of Chitosan Treated Cotton Fabric (키토산 처리 면직물의 군사용 화학 작용제 모사체 분해 연구)

  • This study aims to pursue the multi-functional textile finishing method to detoxify chemical warfare agent by simply treating the well-known antimicrobial agent, chitosan, to cotton fabric. For this purpose, DFP(diisopropylfluorophosphate) was sele cted as a chemical warfare agent simulant and cotton fabric was treated with 0.5, 1.0, and 2wt% chitosan solution in 1wt% acetic acid. DFP decontamination properties of the chitosan treated cotton fabrics were evaluated and compared with the untreated cotton fabric. The chitosan treated cotton fabrics showed better DFP decontamination than the untreated cotton. Decontamination properties of the chitosan treated cotton fabrics improved with the increased chitosan solution used. Especially, the cotton fabrics treated with 2wt% chitosan solution showed 5 times more DFP decontamina tion than the untreated cotton fabrics. This suggested that the chitosan treated fabric has potential to be used as a material for protective clothing with chemical warfare agent detoxifying and antimicrobial properties.

Semantic Multi-agents Framework for Ubiquitous Systems (유비쿼터스 시스템을 위한 시맨틱 다중 에이전트)

  • For the past ten years, the goal of ubiquitous computing research has been the establishment of a new technology system with the aim 'Anytime, Anywhere, and Any form'. The needs for agent technology innovations such as ontology-based structure, ontology-based agent communication language, and multi-agents frameworks have been identified. This paper proposes a noble multi-agents architecture for ubiquitous systems. We suggest four major steps in the interaction between human and agents which enable ubiquitous agents to process by themselves to provide adaptive service to meet human's needs. First, we propose a semantic web technology to represent the association between information resources more explicitly Second, we construct a semantic ontology so that agents can recognize web contents.'Third, we propose a method to communicate between agents using OWL ontologies. Finally, we suggest a multi-agents structure based on the JADE of FIPA to analyze messages and get information. The semantic multi-agents framework proposed in this paper infers semantic situations using semantic web technology based on ontologies. A service provided is inferred differently according to user state because the multi-agents communicate by using OWL ontology language. Therefore, our system better infers context information than other without ontologies.

Garbage Collection Protocol of Fault Tolerance Information in Multi-agent Environments (멀티에이전트 환경에서 결함 포용 정보의 쓰레기 처리 기법)

  • Existing distributed systems have higher probability of failures occurrence than stand-alone system, so many fault tolerant techniques have been developed. Because of insufficient storage resulting from the increased fault tolerance information stored, the performance of system has been degraded. To avoid performance degradation, it needs delete useless fault tolerance information. In this paper, we propose a garbage collection algorithm for fault tolerance information. And we define and design the garbage collection agent for garbage collection of fault tolerance information, the information agent for management of fault tolerant data, and the facilitator agent for communication between agents. Also, we propose the garbage collection algorithm using the garbage collection agent. For rollback recovery, we use independent checkpointing protocol and sender based pessimistic message logging protocol. In our proposed garbage collection algorithm, the garbage collection, information, and facilitator agent is created with process, and the information agent constructs domain knowledge with its checkpoints and non-determistic events. And the garbage collection agent decides garbage collection time, and it deletes useless fault tolerance information in cooperation with the information and facilitator agent. For propriety of proposed garbage collection technique using agents, we compare domain knowledge of system that performs garbage collection after rollback recovery and domain knowledge of system that doesn't perform garbage collection.

Agent-based System for Complex Decision Making and Negotiation: Application to Virtual Manufacturing (복잡한 의사결정과 협상 환경을 위한 에이전트 기반 시스템: 가상생산 응용)

  • In an agent-based system, each agent has its own decision making capability and competes, cooperates, and communicates each other with an agent interface. Virtual manufacturing has characteristics as a typical application area of agent-based system: complex and time-bound decision making and negotiation. The time-boundness influences the choice of decision making models and design of protocols for internal and external negotiation. In this paper, we provide a case study which suggests a time-bound framework for external and internal negotiation between the agents for virtual manufacturing environment. We illustrate decision making model selection strategy and the system architecture of the agent-based system for the complex and time-bound environment.

  • Recently, SCM(Supply Chain Management) embraces the dynamic environmental changes of the participatory bodies in supply chain. Under this dynamic SCM environment, the selection of supplier and outsourcing company is very important. In their selection, the productivity and expertise of suppliers and outsourcing companies are, of course, to be considered as important factors, but whether or nottheycanmeettheduedateisacritical factor. In particular, this is true because an order-based manufacture ought to have CTP(Capable To Promise). For this purpose, by capitalizing onthevirtualmanufactureundertheSCM, this paper has tried to suggest a new agent system for the selection of supplier and outsourcing company. While performing virtual manufacture based on the integration scheduling, this system acquires the production environment and scheduling information of both suppliers and outsourcing companies on a real-timebasis,thusmakingintegrationschedulingpossible.   • Recently, Internet based Electronic Commerce is recognized as one of the alternatives for strengthening sales power of small and medium companies. However, small and medium manufacturers can't adjust properly to the new environment because they are in short of money, personnel, and technology. To cope with this problem, this paper deals with the development of virtual manufacturing agent to support sales agent. The sales activity of most of parts manufacturing companies is based on orders of buyers. The process of promotion, receipt and selection of orders of the parts manufacturing is closely coupled with the load status of the production lines. On deciding whether to accept an order or not, as well as negotiating with buyers, sales person needs information such as load and schedule of production lines, manufacturability of the order. Therefore, the functions of virtual manufacturing agents manufacturability analysis, process planning, and scheduling are key features in developing an agent of sales activity for the parts manufacturing business. While most of research on virtual manufacturing system so far is focused on the simulation of each product, this paper deals with the development of agent assisting internet-based product sales by supporting production information promptly. The pilot system of virtual manufacturing agent is implemented using KQML-based agent template and Java-based expert system shell for a small molding company.

  • The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the patterns of hybrid layer according to the application time and the frequency and its effects on the shear bonding strength of All-In-One system in primary teeth. A single bonding agent(Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Plus, 3M) and an All-In-One system(Prompt L-pop, 3M ESPE) were applied on the dentin varying the application time and the frequency in primary teeth. Shear bond strength was measured and the patterns of hybrid layers were observed by SEM. The following results were obtained ; 1. The shear bonding strength of single bonding agent was significantly higher than that of All-In-One system(P<0.05). 2. The shear bonding strength of All-In-One system applied twice or 3 times were higher than that of applied once (P<0.05). And thickness of the hybrid layer was increased when applied twice or 3 times compared to once. 3. The shear bonding strength of All-In-One system when applied for 15 second and 30 second were higher than that of 7 second (P<0.05). And the hybrid layer thickness of 15 second and 30 second's application time were higher than that of 7 second. 4. Thickness of hybrid layer applied with single bonding agent was $2-4{\mu}m$ and that of All-In-One system was $1-2{\mu}m$.

  • This paper describes the development of the pilot plant of distributed intelligent management system for a microgrid. For optimal control and management of microgrids, intelligent agents area applied to the microgrid management system. Each agent includes intelligent algorithms to make decisions on behalf of the corresponding microgrid entity such as distributed generators, local loads, and so on. To this end, each agent has its own resources to evaluate the system conditions by collecting local information and also communicating with other agents. This paper presents key features of the data communication and management of the developed pilot plant such as the construction of mesh network using local wireless communication techniques, the autonomous agent coordination schemes using plug-and-play functions of agents and contract net protocol (CNP) for decision-making. The performance of the pilot plant and developed algorithms are verified via real-time microgrid test bench based on hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems.

  • Research on AI is essential to build a system with collective intelligence that allows a large number of UAVs to maintain their flight while carrying out various missions. A typical approach of AI includes 'top-down' approach, which is a rule-based logic reasoning method including expert system, and 'bottom-up approach' in which overall behavior is determined through partial interaction between simple objects such as artificial neural network and Flocking Algorithm. In the same study as the existing Flocking Algorithm, individuals can not perform individual tasks. In addition, studies such as UAV formation flight can not flexibly cope with problems caused by partial flight defects. In this paper, we propose organic integration between top - down approach and bottom - up approach through multi - agent system, and suggest a flight flight algorithm which can perform flexible mission through it.
