We consider channel-coded multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission and obtain a condition on its signal for it to attain the maximum diversity and coding gain. As this condition may not be realizable, we propose a suboptimal design that employs an orthogonal transform and a space-frequency interleaver between the channel coder and the multi-antenna OFDM transmitter. We propose a corresponding receiving method based on block turbo equalization. Attention is paid to some detailed design of the transmitter and the receiver to curtail the computational complexity and yet deliver good performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed transmission technique can outperform the conventional coded MIMO OFDM and the MIMO block single-carrier transmission with cyclic prefixing.
In this paper, a new multi-group neutron-gamma transport calculation code system STRAUM-MATXST for complicated geometrical problems is introduced and its development status including numerical tests is presented. In this code system, the MATXST (MATXS-based Cross Section Processor for SN Transport) code generates multi-group neutron and gamma cross sections by processing MATXS format libraries generated using NJOY and the STRAUM (SN Transport for Radiation Analysis with Unstructured Meshes) code performs multi-group neutron-gamma coupled transport calculation using tetrahedral meshes. In particular, this work presents the recent implementation and its test results of the Krylov subspace methods (i.e., Bi-CGSTAB and GMRES(m)) with preconditioners using DSA (Diffusion Synthetic Acceleration) and TSA (Transport Synthetic Acceleration). In addition, the Krylov subspace methods for accelerating the energy-group coupling iteration through thermal up-scatterings are implemented with new multi-group block DSA and TSA preconditioners in STRAUM.

In this paper, we proposed that a fully automatic multi-class whole heart segmentation algorithm using deep learning. The proposed method is based on U-Net architecture which consist of recurrent convolutional block, residual multi-dilated convolutional block. The evaluation was accomplished by comparing automated analysis results of the test dataset to the manual assessment. We obtained the average DSC of 96.88%, precision of 95.60%, and recall of 97.00% with CT images. We were able to observe and analyze after visualizing segmented images using three-dimensional volume rendering method. Our experiment results show that proposed method effectively performed to segment in various heart structures. We expected that our method can help doctors and radiologist to make image reading and clinical decision.

The PB/MC-CDMA(Partial Block Multi Carrier Code Division Multilple Access) system can improve the performance by reducing the ICI(Inter-Code Interference) between users. Also, this system can achieve the frequency diversity gain by avoiding ISI(Inter Symbol Interference). Therefore, the performance of PB/MC-CDMA system is better than that of conventional MC-CDMA(Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access) system. However, similarly to other multi-carrier systems, it still has a PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) issue. In this paper, we propose a peak power reduction technique involving optimized spreading code selection without side information for the PB/MC-CDMA. The PB/MC-CDMA system in each block of units reuses the code so the extra code will be remained. This extra code is divided into several groups to calculate the PAPR and solving the PAPR problem by transferring the selected code which has minimum peak power.
There are many joint fissures distributed in the engineering rock mass. In the process of geological history, the underground rock mass undergoes strong geological processes, and undergoes complex geological processes such as fracture breeding, expansion, recementation, and re-expansion. In this paper, the damage-stick-slip process (DSSP), an analysis model used for rock mass failure slip, was established to examine the master control and time-dependent mechanical properties of the new and primary fractures of a multi-fractured rock mass under the action of stress loading. The experimental system for the recemented multi-fractured rock mass was developed to validate the above theory. First, a rock mass failure test was conducted. Then, the failure stress state was kept constant, and the fractured rock mass was grouted and cemented. A secondary loading was applied until the grouted mass reached the intended strength to investigate the bearing capacity of the recemented multi-fractured rock mass, and an acoustic emission (AE) system was used to monitor AE events and the update of damage energy. The results show that the initial fracture angle and direction had a significant effect on the re-failure process of the cement rock mass; Compared with the monitoring results of the acoustic emission (AE) measurements, the master control surface, key blocks and other control factors in the multi-fractured rock mass were obtained; The triangular shaped block in rock mass plays an important role in the stress and displacement change of multi-fracture rock mass and the long fissure and the fractures with close fracture tip are easier to activate, and the position where the longer fractures intersect with the smaller fractures is easier to generate new fractures. The results are of great significance to a multi-block structure, which affects the safety of underground coal mining.

This paper introduces three efficient frame selection schemes to reduce the computation complexity for the multi-reference and variable block size Motion Estimation (ME). The proposed RSP (Reference Selection Pass) scheme can minimize the overhead of frame selection. The MFS (Modified Frame Selection) scheme can reduce the number of search points about 18% compared with existing schemes considering the motion of image during the reference frame selection process. In addition, the TPRFS (Two Pass Reference frame Selection) scheme can minimize the frame selection operation for the variable block size ME in H.264/AVC using the character of selected reference frame according to the block size. The simulation results show the proposed schemes can save up to 50% of the ME computation without degradation of image Qualify. Because the proposed schemes can be separated from the block matching process, they can be used with any existing single reference fast search algorithms.

In this paper, a novel algorithm is proposed to reduce the blocking artifacts of block-based coded images by using block classification and MLP. In the proposed algorithm, we classify the block into four classes based on a characteristic of DCT coefficients. And then, according to the class information of neighborhood block, adaptive neural network filter is performed in horizontal and vertical block boundary. That is, for smooth region, horizontal edge region, vertical edge region, and complex region, we use a different two-layer neural network filter to remove blocking artifacts. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm gives better results than the conventional algorithms both subjectively and objectively.
A finite-volume method using multi-block grid technique has been developed in order to investigate the flow field around multi-body. Here the matching grids are used at the interface between blocks and the boundary conditions are imposed there to exchange physical values across the interface. For the test problems, the laminar viscous flaw around one-and two-cylinder are simulated and the results are compared with experiments and other numerical results.
Motion Estimation which is used to reduce the redundant data plays an important role in video compressions. However, it requires huge computational complexity of the encoder part. And therefore many fast motion estimation methods has been developed to reduce complexity. Multi-view video is obtained by using many cameras at different positions and its complexity increases in proportion to the number of cameras. In this paper, we proposed a fast motion estimation method for multi-view video. The proposed method predicts a search start point by using correlated candidate vectors of the current block. According to the motion size of the start search point, a search start pattern of the current block is decided adaptively. The proposed method proves to be about 2 ~ 5 times faster than existing methods while maintaining similar image quality and bitrates.
