  • The aroma components of Korean green tea in the south western part of Mt. Chiri prepared by the traditional method from native variety were analyzed using GC and GC-MS. The patterns on GC chromatograms of the three samples from the flushes plucked in early spring were similar, though they are prepared by different producers in the area of Hadong-kun, Kyung sang nam-do. A total of 51 aroma compounds were identified in all samples. Main component in the aroma compounds of these teas were geraniol, benzyl alcohol, 2-phenylethanol, $\beta$-ionone, benzyl cyanide and linalool oxides. The aroma components of green teas manufactured by the different plucking periods were also compared. The amounts of geraniol, typical rose floral aroma were particularly decreased in the final plucking period. The amounts of pyrazines and furfuryl alcohol, typical roasted aroma and nutty aroma were slightly increased in later plucking period.

  • This paper reviews a single trip decision to visit individual sites of a natural park within a random utility framework as an alternative to travel cost model. The model is applied to a 1998 survey of on-site visitors to Mu Deung Mt. neighboring Kwang Ju. city. Out of four sites considered, the model seemed to provide a reasonable description of behavior for three sites. In addition to travel costs as an implicit price, variables reflecting characteristics of each site also influenced decisions to visit the site. Moreover, benefits estimates derived from the RUM implied that visitors placed three times higher values on a site based on cultural inheritance compared with those of two recreational sites.

  • This study was performed to investigate the resources flora of Mt. ManRoi(611.7m; 37$^{\circ}$51'N, 127$^{\circ}$ 20'E), during April 1995 to September 1998. The vascular plants, which were collected from the mountain were composed of all 382 taxa including cultivated species, and classified into 1 phylum, 4 classes, 34 orders, 87 families, 254 genera, 323 species, 1 subspecies,55 varieties and 4 forms. There were not rare and endangered species, while 7 taxa of Korean endemic plants, that is, Tricyitis dilatata, Clematis trichotoma, Deutzia coreana, Spiraea prunifolia var, simpliciflora, Forsythia koreana, Weigela subsessilis and Patrinia sanicalaefalia were distributed in this mountain. The vegetation of this investigated area is regarded as the boundary of the temperate middle part and temperate southern part in floral zone of the Korean Peninsula.

  • The order Nudibranchia Cuvier, 1817 is among the most colorful gastropod group that lacks an external shell and mantle cavity at their adult stage. They are widely found in the intertidal to subtidal zones of marine habitats worldwide. To date, a total of 58 species are known from Korean waters. In this study, we report seven nudibranch species that are newly reported from Korean waters and provide their color images of external body, morphological description, taxonomic remarks, and mtDNA cox1 barcode sequence information: Dendronotus primorjensis Martynov, Sanamyan & Korshunova, 2015; Doto japonica Odhner, 1936; Trinchesia ornata (Baba, 1937); Antiopella fusca (O'Donoghue, 1924); Cadlina paninae Korshunova, Fletcher, Picton, Lundin, Kashio, N. • This study was carried out in order to produce useful material for the forest multiple use and forest protection management by soil physio-chemical analysis of studied area in Mt. Namsan. The result of soil physio-chemical analysis and statical analysis represented as following. In side of physical properties of forest soil in Mt. Namsan, Soil depth was average 31.4cm and available soil depth was average 20.0cm. Soil type was Brown forest soil that representative soil type in Korea. Soil texture was sandy loom(SL) except valley area. In side of chemical properties, the range of soil acidity was 4.29 ~ 5.19 (average 4.76), organic matter content was 3.17% that compared the lowest value to organic matter content of Korea forest soil. Available phosphorus was 3.64ppm that was lower than others forest soil. Exchangeable cation content was similar to the Korea brown forest soil. Cation exchange capacity(CEC) was $8.22cmol_c/kg$ in Mt. Narnsan.

  • Someday Mt. Baekdu could erupt by records of orogeny activity until today. This study is to predict influence area of lava flow and volcanic ash by simulation of volcanic eruption in the Mt. Baekdu. Simulation for eruption applied to supposing 7 grade of volcanic explosivity index, season from fall to spring. As a simulation results, lava flewed down into slope of China and volcanic ash diffused over the North Korea. Volcanic ash spreads to Ulneung area after nine hours. It was predicted that 61 cities and villages out of 27 administrative districts of Si-Gun were affected by volcanic ash in North Korea and an immense volume of volcanic ash was blown into farm lands, city areas and forests. This results expected to utilize information for disaster preparation of North Korea and joint research with South-North Korea and China.

  • Sperm from mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis) were electroporated in the presence of plasmid DNA, pRSV/luc or pMT/hGH over a range of field strength of 0-1,625 V/cm with capacitance from 0 to 1,000 ${\mu}F$, and the effects of electroporation on fertilization, hatching, early survival, and efficiency of gene transfer were investigated. Average fertilization rate, hatching rate and early survival rate up to yolk sac absorption of all experimental groups were not significuntly different (P>0.05). The proportion of fish carrying pRSV/luc based on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis was ranged from 0 to $20\%$, however, the values of gene transfer efficiency from the different eledctroporation conditions were not significantly different. PCR analysis of pMT/hGH transferred groups revealed that screening of pMT/hGH transferred fish by PCR was difficult because of significant nonspecific amplifications resulted from the homologous sequences in the genome of mud loach.

  • Lately public interest in tree saps of maple and birch trees has been increased for sap drink as a natural medical beverage. To ensure tree sap drink for commercial production, species which are available in resources, their ecological regeneration characteristics in the natural forest stand, and tree sap resources should be investigated. Species for the collecting tree saps and their distribution were surveyed in the areas of Mt.Sobaek, Tanyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Mt.Sobaek area was selected to the proper place to survey as the feasible area for tapping tree saps for the natural beverage. Feasible tree species of this area are Betula costata, Betula schmidtii, Comus controversa, Acer mono, and Acer pseudosieboldianum based on the estimated tree sap amounts. Average and maximum species diversities of surveyed area were 4.2 and 5.39, respectively. Its evenness 0.78 referred that there are actively progressing ecological regeneration among diverse tree species. Tree saps are mainly harvested at the areas of upper and lower Wonmanteo. In terms of species, the most high sap amounts were from birch sap, next Comus controversa, the 3rd Acer mono. Many measures were suggested ecologically and technically, for commercial or practical production of tree sap drinks, though Mt.Sobaek area was evaluated as improper place because of geographical and transportational limitation.

  • In this study, we synthesized graphene oxide and developed novel spin-spray coating technology. The graphene oxide thin film was uniformly coated on amine-functionalized glass surfaces using spin-spray coating technology. We also stacked up to four layers of graphene oxide on glass substrates in a uniform manner. From the results, we infer that this spin-spray coating of graphene oxide thin film could be a powerful tool for various electronic display coating applications.
