복합재료 교량 바닥판의 주행속도에 따른 동적응답 평가 (Estimation of Dynamic Response of Advanced Composite Material Decks for Bridges Application under Various Vehicle Driving Velocities)

  • 복합 신소재의 건설 분야 적용은 확대되고 있는 추세이고, 높은 비강도 비를 지닌 복합 신소재 교량 바닥 판의 개발은 국내외에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 이동 하중을 받는 비등방성 복합재료 적층판의 동적 응답을 정식화하고, 유한요소법을 사용하여 적층에 따른 동적거동 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 수치 해석 모델에 대해서 이동하중의 속도를 증가시키면서 동적 확대 계수를 계산하였다. 또한 적층형식 및 순서, 섬유 보강 각도 등의 변화에 따른 동적 거동 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구 프로그램의 타당성을 확보하기 위해 휨과 자유 진동 해석에 관한 기존 문헌 결과와 비교하여 검증하였다. 또한 이동 하중에 의한 동적 해석에 대해 모우드 중첩법과 Newmark 직접 적분법을 사용하였다. 이러한 이동 하중과 적층 수, 적층 순서 및 섬유 보강 각도에 따른 수치 해석 결과는 완전 복합 신소재 교량 바닥 판을 개발하는데 있어서 중요한 기초 자료로 제시될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The amount of grain loss incurred during harvesting operation through the chaff-outlet of combine may not be negligible. To minimize this grain loss and optimize condition of combining, it may be necessary that the amout of chaff-outlet loss dependent on varying crop condition is to be estimated as exactly as possible. This study was thus intended to develop the monitor that could indicate the amount of grain lost through the chaff-outlet of combine during haravesting operation, and to find out driving and operating method of combine that could reduce chaff-outlet loss. In the study(1), the frequency distributions of each sound generated by the impact of kernels and chaff, the sound generated by the impact of the mixture of kernels and chaff, and vibration or noise created by the combine engine and other moving parts were investigated experimentally. Based on the results of frequency analyses, the loss monitor was developed which could measure the impact sound of paddy kernels that could be distinguished from those of other threshing products through chaff-outlet, and from vibration or noise created by the combine engine and other moving parts. Also in this study, detecting capability of monitor was tested by comparing the amount of grain lost through chaff-outlet with the amount of grain detected by the loss monitor, and changes in chaff-outlet grain loss on the increase of traveling speed, location of chaff-outlet loss control plate and variety of paddy rice were measured using the loss monitor. The monitor developed in this study efficiently measured the amount of grain lost through the chaff-outlet of combine. It was found that the chaff-outlet grain loss ratio was affected greatly by the variety of paddy rice, the location of chaff-outlet loss control plate and traveling speed of combine.

그림자가 있는 차량 번호판의 이진화 (Binarization of number plate Image with a shadow)

  • 본 논문은 이동 중의 차량으로부터 획득한 후면 번호판의 이미지를 이진화 할 경우의 문제점과 이의 해결책을 제시하였다. 후면 번호판을 이진화한 경우 태양의 고도와 차량 구조의 영향으로 그림자가 드리워진 이미지를 획득하게 되며 이 번호판의 이미지를 이진화 할 경우 문자를 인식하기에 좋지 않은 이미지를 획득하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 먼저 그림자 경계선을 파악하고 이를 이용하여 그림자가 드리워진 영역과 드리워지지 않은 영역을 구분한 후 각각의 영역을 이진화하는 방법을 제시하였다. 기존 발표되었던 이진화 방법들 중 일반 이진화, 타 논문 이진화, 블록 이진화, 라벨링 응용 이진화 들과 본 논문에서 제시한 방법을 비교 실험하여 성능분석 하였고, 실험결과, 대부분의 경우에 본 논문에서 제안한 방법이 타 방법에 비해 성능이 좋음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Cavitation in Pump Inducer with Axi-asymmetrical Inlet Plate Observed by Multi-cameras

  • The attachment of inducer in front of main impeller is a powerful method to improve cavitation performance; however, cavitation surge oscillation with low frequency occurs with blade cavity growing to each throat section of blade passage simultaneously. Then, one conceptual method of installing suction axi-asymmetrical plate has been proposed so as to keep every throat passage away from being unstable at once, and the effect on suppression of the oscillation were investigated. In the present study, cavitation behaviors in the inducer is observed with distributing multi-cameras circumferentially, recording simultaneously and reconstructing multi-photos on one plane field as moving a linear cascade. Observed results are utilized for discussion with other measuring results as casing wall pressure distribution. Then the suppression mechanism of oscillation by installing axi-asymmetrical inlet plate will be clarified in more details.

필릿 용접 공정에서 온도 분포 예측을 위한 해석적 모델 (Analytical Solution for Transient Temperature Distribution in Fillet Arc Welding)

  • This paper presents an analytical solution to predict the transient temperature distribution in fillet arc welding. The analytical solution is obtained by solving a transient three -dimensional heat conduction equation with convection boundary conditions on the surfaces of an infinite plate with finite thicknesses, and mapping an infinite plate onto the fillet weld geometry with energy equation. The electric arc heat input on fillet weld and on infinite plate is assumed to have a traveling bivariate Gaussian distribution. To check the validity of the solution, GTA and FCA welding experiments were performed under various welding conditions. The actual isotherms of the weldment cross - sections at various distances from the arc start point are compared with those of simulation result. As the result shows a satisfactory accuracy, this analytical solution can be used to predict the transient temperature distribution in the fiIIet weld of finite thickness under a moving bivariate Gaussian distributed heat source. The simplicity and short calculation time of the analytical solution provides rationales to use the analytical solution for modeling the welding control systems or for an optimization tool of welding process parameters.

몰수평판에 작용하는 Radiation 유체력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Radiation Forces Acting on a Submerged-Plate)

  • 라디에이션(radiation) 문제를 해결하기 위해서 중합격자법을 개발하였다. 중합격자계는 이동격자계와 고정격자계로 이루어져 있으며, 이동격자계는 운동하는 물체에 적용되어 운동하는 물체와 동시에 이동된다. 이러한 수치계산법은 자유표면 부근에서 운동하는 몰수평판에 작용하는 라디에이션 유체력을 계산하는데 응용되었다. 현재의 수치계산법에 의한 결과는 실험값 및 선형포텐셜 이론에 의한 결과와 상호 비교하였으며, 수치계산의 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 그리고, 몰수평판에 작용하는 비선형 점성감쇄효과에 대하여 평가하였다.

Design of a Recognizing System for Vehicle's License Plates with English Characters

  • In recent years, video detection systems have been implemented in various infrastructures such as airport, public transportation, power generation system, water dam and so on. Recognizing moving objects in video sequence is an important problem in computer vision, with applications in several fields, such as video surveillance and target tracking. Segmentation and tracking of multiple vehicles in crowded situations is made difficult by inter-object occlusion. In the system described in this paper, the mean shift algorithm is firstly used to filter and segment a color vehicle image in order to get candidate regions. These candidate regions are then analyzed and classified in order to decide whether a candidate region contains a license plate or not. And then some characters in the license plate is recognized by using the fuzzy ARTMAP neural network, which is a relatively new architecture of the neural network family and has the capability to learn incrementally unlike the conventional BP network. We finally design a license plate recognition system using the mean shift algorithm and fuzzy ARTMAP neural network and show its performance via some computer simulations.

Design and Lithographic Fabrication of Elliptical Zone Plate Array with High Fill Factor

  • An elliptical zone plate (EZP) array is important in off-axis optical systems because it provides two advantages. First, the residual beam and the main source are not focused in the same direction and second, the light from the observation plane is not reflected back towards the beam source. However, the fill factor of the previous EZP array was about 76% which was a little low. Hence, this EZP array could not collect the maximum amount of illumination light, which affected the overall optical performance of the lens array. In this study, we propose a new EZP array design with a 97.5% fill factor used in off-axis imaging system for enhancement of brightness and contrast. Then, direct laser lithography was used to fabricate the high fill factor EZP array by moving the XY linear stage of the system in a zigzag motion. The imaging properties of the proposed EZP array were experimentally verified at the focal plane and compared with the previous model.

Remote-controlled micro locking mechanism for plate-type nuclear fuel used in upflow research reactors

  • Fuel locking mechanisms (FLMs) are essential in upward-flow research reactors to prevent accidental fuel separation from the core during reactor operation. This study presents a novel design concept for a remotely controlled plate-type nuclear fuel locking mechanism. By employing electromagnetic field analysis, we optimized the design of the electromagnet for fuel unlocking, allowing the FLM to adapt to various research reactor core designs, minimizing installation space, and reducing maintenance efforts. Computational flow analysis quantified the drag acting on the fuel assembly caused by coolant upflow. Subsequently, we performed finite element analysis and evaluated the structural integrity of the FLM based on the ASME boiler and pressure vessel (B&PV) code, considering design loads such as dead weight and flow drag. Our findings confirm that the new FLM design provides sufficient margins to withstand the specified loads. We fabricated a prototype comprising the driving part, a simplified moving part, and a dummy fuel assembly. Through basic operational tests on the assembled components, we verified that the manufactured products meet the performance requirements. This remote-controlled micro locking mechanism holds promise in enhancing the safety and efficiency of plate-type nuclear fuel operation in upflow research reactors.

고유값 분석을 이용한 효과적인 후판 인식 (An Effective Steel Plate Detection Using Eigenvalue Analysis)

  • 본 논문에서는 여러 장의 후판이 포함된 영상에서 고유값을 이용하여 직선 패턴을 검출하고 이를 바탕으로 각각의 후판을 인식하는 간단하면서도 정확한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 후판 영상으로부터 후판에 관련된 정보를 분석 및 인식하기 위해서 먼저 후판의 직선 에지를 검출한다. 후판 영상의 직선 에지 검출을 위해 제안하는 알고리즘에서는 마스크를 이용하여 전체 영상을 탐색하면서 에지 영상을 분석한다. 먼저 마스크에 위치한 에지 패턴의 픽셀들에 대한 공분산 행렬을 계산하고 공분산 행렬의 고유값과 에지 패턴의 통계적 특성과 기하학적인 특성 사이의 관계를 분석하여 직선 에지를 검출한다. 다음으로 직선 에지의 방향 정보와 원점에서의 거리 정보를 분석하여 전체 영상에서 각각의 후판을 검출한다. 다양한 후판 영상에 대해서 실험을 수행한 결과는 제안하는 알고리즘이 전체 영상에서 각각의 후판을 효과적으로 검출함을 보여준다.
