  • As microprocessor and SOC (System On a Chip) performance moves into the GHz speed, the high-speed asynchronous design is becoming challenge due to the disadvantageous power and speed aspects in synchronous designs. The next generation on-chip systems will consist of multiple independently synchronous modules and asynchronous modules for higher performance, so the interface module for data transfer between multiple clocked IPs is designed with Xilinx FPGA and simulated with RISC microprocessor.

  • Approximately 95% of the world's trade moves by containers, primarily on large ships, but also on trains, trucks, and barges. The system is efficient and economical, but vulnerable. However, the rise of terrorism and the possibility that a container could be used to transport or actually be the delivery vehicle for weapons of mass destruction or high explosives have made it imperative that the security of shipping container system be greatly improved. This study proposed a trend of container security and its Countermeasures.

  • The photochemical reaction mechanism has been investigated for methanol insertion into the p-substituted phenylketo carbenes. The triplet spin state of phenyl koto carbene is stabilized by the neighbored carbonyl electrons. When the phenylketo carbene reacts with methanol, the ylied intermediate is formed, then moves to the activated transition state.

  • In this paper, Cross-Coupled Controller proposed for multi axes servo system. Tracking error and contouring error exist when a machine tool moves along the trajectory in multi exes system. The proposed scheme enhances the contouring performance by reducing contour error. Feedforward compensator reduces the effects of a nonlinear disturbance such as friction or dead zone. The proposed control scheme reduces the contour error which occured when the tool tracks the reference trajectory. Simulation results show that this scheme improves the contouring performance along the reference trajectory in XY-table.

  • We discuss two unrelated topics regarding Cops and Robbers, a well-known pursuit-evasion game played on a simple graph. First, we address a recent question of Breen et al. and prove the PSPACE-completeness of the cop throttling number, that is, the minimal possible sum of the number k of cops and the number capt(k) of moves that the robber can survive against k cops under the optimal play of both sides. Secondly, we revisit a teleporting version of the game due to Wagner; we disprove one of his conjectures and suggest a new related research problem.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to automatically extract stable visual landmarks from observed data for a mobile robot with stereo vision system. The robot selects as stable landmarks vertical line segments which are distinct and on planar surfaces, because they are expected to be observed reliably from various view-points. When the robot moves, it uses several, less uncertain landmarks for estimating its motion. Experimental results in real scenes show the validity of the proposed method.

  • We measured 3-dimensional images of the light emitted from plasma display panel by using newly proposed scanned point detecting method (SPDM). From the 3-dimensional emission images, we know that as the sustain voltage increases, intensity of light detected without phosphor increases and the position of the maximum intensity moves to the outside from the electrode gap. Also, we know that 2-dimensional simulations under the assumption that neglects the Y axis variation do not agree with 3-dimensional experiment results.

  • This paper describes the tip force control of a flexible minature arm. The arm is driven by the torques generated by the cells, and the endpoint of the arm is controlled so that it moves in synchrony with the fluctuation of the target and maintains a constant distance to the surface of the traget.

  • The time reversal was investigated for direct root between PZT and PZT, but in case of a circular PZT, lamb wave moves not only along the direct root but also another roots. The center frequency of lamb wave is kept when the lamb waves are reflected from damage. This paper presents experimental and theoretical results for the new structural health monitoring method by above features of lamb wave, and we can increase accuracy of the new structural health monitoring method by using STFT(Short Time Fourier Transform).
