Recently, a cable disconnection accident occurred due to a lightning strike at the Seohae Bridge located in Dangjin-Pyeongtaek City. This is a natural occurrence, but it is a recall that it is very important to review the safety issues due to the disconnection of cable bridges. In other words, the role of cables in cable bridges has a profound effect on the safety of the structure, and it has become necessary to grasp the effect on the entire structural system. The cable bridge is an economic bridge that builds the main tower and supports the bottom plate by cable. The influence of the cable is the main member, which is a big influence on the safety of the whole bridge system. In the cable-stayed bridge, the cables exhibit nonlinear behavior because of the change in sag, due to the dead weight of the cable, which occurs with changing tension in the cable resulting from the movement of the end points of the cable as the bridge is loaded. Modal analysis is conducted using the deformed dead-load tangent stiffness matrix. A new concept was presented by using divided a cable into several elements in order to study the effect of the cable vibration (both in-plane and swinging) on the overall bridge dynamics. The result of this study demonstrates the importance of cable vibration on the overall bridge dynamics.

Recently, with the high interest of machine learning, the need for educational controllers to interface with physical devices has increased. However, existing controllers are limited in terms of high cost and area of utilization for educational purposes. In this paper, motion control controllers using brain waves are proposed for the purpose of students' machine learning applications. The brain motion that occurs when imagining a specific action is measured and sampled, then the sample values were learned through Tensor Flow and the motion was recognized in contents such as games. Movement variation for motion recognition consists of directionality and jump motion. The identification of the recognition behavior is sent to a game produced by an Unreal Engine to operate the character in the game. In addition to brain waves, the implemented controller can be used in various fields depending on the input signal and can be used for educational purposes such as machine learning applications.
Recently, 1-D model-based engine development using virtual engine system is getting more attention than experimental-based engine development due to the advantages in time and cost. Injection rate profile is the one of the main parameters that determine the start and end of combustion. Therefore, it is essential to set up a sophisticated model to accurately predict the injection rate as starting point of virtual engine system. In this research, procedure of 1-D model setup based on AMESim is introduced to predict the dynamic behavior and injection rate of diesel injector. As a first step, detailed 3D cross-sectional drawing of the injector was achieved, which can be done with help of precision measurement system. Then an approximate AMESim model was provided based on the 3D drawing, which is composed of three part such as solenoid part, control chamber part and needle and nozzle orifice part. However, validation results in terms of total injection quantity showed some errors over the acceptable level. Therefore, experimental work including needle movement visualization, solenoid part analysis and flow characteristics of injector part was performed together to provide more accuracy of 1-D model. Finally, 1-D model with the accuracy of less than 10% of error compared with experimental result in terms of injection quantity and injection rate shape under normal temperature and single injection condition was established. Further work considering fuel temperature and multiple injection will be performed.
Over the past few years, companies have started moving into specific niches in plus-size fashion. The purpose of this study was to verify the marketability of young plus-size clothes in the USA. Data were collected from female consumers aged from 20 to 39 who have experience of purchasing plus-size items. A total of 282 responses were used for statistical analysis. The research result is as follows. First, the obesity stress is affected more by the subjective obesity level than by the objective obesity level and by how people recognize their body types. Second, from an analysis of the factors affecting the shopping orientation of plus-size consumers, style consciousness, pursuing reasonable, emphasizing comfort, and body consciousness are found to be important factors. Third, even if responders are aware of their exact body size, they actively look for the correct size. Fourth, fit evaluation of plus-size products is based on the factors of size fit and movement fit. The respondents were unsatisfied with chest and arm measurements, which deviate widely by body type for tops. Fifth, the overall dissatisfaction with the plus-size market is attributed to the fact that the product assortment range from which to select styles is narrow, and trend reflection is low. Sixth, the respondents tended to avoid fabrics that make their body type more obvious, textures that give the impression of a larger body size, or stiff textures. These results show that the psychological and physical characteristics of obese consumers should be considered to develop products for the young plus-size market.
We propose an inter-leg collision avoidance method that compensates the disadvantage of the data-driven biped control method. The data-driven biped control technique proposed by Lee et. al [1] sometimes generates the movement that the two legs intersect with each other while walking, which can not be realized in walking of a real person or a biped robot. The proposed method changes the angle of the swing hip so that the swing foot can move inward only after passing the stance foot. This process introduces an additional angle adjustment algorithm to avoid collisions with the stance leg to the original feedback rule of the stance hip. It generates a stable walking simulation without any inter-leg collisions, by adding minimal changes and additional calculations to the existing controller behavior.
It was conducted that yoga practice for the visually impaired Elderly has an influence on boby composition, flexibility and depression disease. Also, It has a purpose to provide a method of movement and basic materials for them. The 18 seventy-year-old men or women without any experience of yoga from the visually impaired association of the elderly in G city were participated in a training yoga session. This experiment was performed by simple random sampling with the nine of treat group (yoga training) and the nine of control group. The data was analyzed by covariance analysis with 0.05 significant level. The treat group were conducted twice a week to exercise (60mins) for twelve weeks. In conclusion, it is proved that yoga exercise has a positive effect on body composition, flexibility and depression disease.
Pile-supported embankment is one of the reinforcing methods to minimize damage due to the severe subsidence and lateral flow when soft clay ground is supported with embankment. pile-supported embankment mainly penetrates soft ground into the bearing stratum in order to support surcharge load which minimizes the subsidence and lateral flow due to the surcharge load. The aim of this research is to review quantitatively reinforcing effect of pile-supported embankment which is installed in soft clay ground. From the model test, it reproduced the ground movement with regard to the non-reinforced and reinforcing embankment-pile and also analyzed stabilizing effects of lateral flow due to the pile-supported embankment. With regard to the case of installing pile-supported embankment, its were analyzed stabilizing effects of lateral flow in cases of quick-load and slow-load to make different surcharge load.
In this paper, electrical properties of nanostructured carbon blacks (CB)-filled high density polyethylene (HDPE) composites were investigated as a function of temperature, which were prepared by the conventional melt-mixing method. The composites were irradiated with electron beam in a dosage of 30∼150 kGy to enhance an electronical reproducibility and to reduce a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) phenomenon. And, gel contents (%) of irradiated CB/HDPE composites were estimated by solvent extraction method. From the experimental results. the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) intensity of the composites was strongly depended on the CB content and particle size. And, the increase of gel contents (%) and disappearance of NTC behavior of the composites were identified at a dosage of 60 kGy. It was also found that the electron beam irradiation made an improvement of electrical reproducibility of the composites. This result was probably due to the reduction of the freedom of CB movement at above the melting temperature of the polymer crystalline, resulting in increasing the crosslinking structure of the composites.

Utilization of the fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) material has been increased as an alternative in a bid to supplement the problems with general construction materials such as long-term problems corrosion, etc. However, there are still many problems in using a linear-shaped FRP material for a tunnel lining structure which has arch-shape in general. In this study, the loading tests for the FRP-concrete composite member was carried out to evaluate their applicability as a tunnel reinforcement material, which are based on the results from preliminary numerical studies for identifying the behavioral characteristics of FRP-concrete composite member. Moreover, numerical analysis under the same condition as applied in the loading tests was again conducted for analysis of mechanical behavior of the composite member. As a result of the load test and numerical analysis, it appears that the FRP-concrete composite member is greatly subject to shear movement caused by bending tension acting on the interface between two constituent members.
Brain dopamine systems play a central role in the control of movement, hormone release, and many complex behavior. The action of dopamine at its synapse is terminated predominately by high affinity reuptake into presynaptic terminals by dopamine transporter (DAT). The dopamine transporter(DAT) is membrane protein localized to dopamine-containing nerve terminals and closely related with cocaine abuse, Parkinsonism, and schizophrenia. In present study, the recombinant plasmid pRc/CMV-DAT, constructed by subcloning of a cDNA encoding a bovine DAT into eukaryotic expression vector pRc/CMV, was stably transfected into CV-1 cells(monkey kidney cell line). The DAT activities in the cell lines selected by Geneticin$^{R}$ were determined by measuring the uptake of $[^3H]$-dopamine. The transfected cell lines showed 30-50 fold higher activities than untransfected CV-1 cell line, and this result implies that DAT is well expressed and localized in transfected cells. The transfected cells accumulated $[^3H]$-dopamine in a dose-dependent manner with a $K_{m}$ of 991.6nM. Even though high doses of norepinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin, and choline neurotransmitters inhibited the uptake of $[^3H]$-dopamine, DAT in transfected cell line was proven to be much more specific to dopamine. The psychotropic drugs such as GBR12909, CFT, normifensine, clomipramine, desipramine, and imipramine inhibited significantly the dopamine uptake in tissue culture cells stably transfected with DAT cDNA. Radioactive in situ hybridization was done to map the cellular localization of DAT mRNA-containing cells in the adult rat central nervous system. The strong hybridization signals were detected only in the substantia nigra pars compacta and ventral tegmental area. The restricted anatomical localization of DAT mRNA-containing cells confirms the DAT as a presynaptic marker of dopamine-containing cells in the rat brain.
